How do i check the rotary switch?
Try to force the lights on, and see if the behavior changes. See especially if you get the indicator light on the switch that says the BCM recognized that you changed switch positions. Have you checked voltage at the headlight sockets? Any other mods?

That party is less fun than the one I figured was happening. Thanks for the heads up. Stupid HIDs. I avoid HID threads. :frown:

I noticed they weren't included in the Roadie Handbook :deal:

The night of epic fail.

List of things I had to do:
1) Replace driver front hub and CV axle
2) Change oil
3) Rotate tires

What actually happened:

1) Failed on the first step - removing the axle nut. Totally sheared off my breaker bar trying to get it off. Breaker bar broke... fail. Here I find out that while the torque spec for the nut is 103 ft lb (just like the lug nuts) my friend who helped me with ball joints a year ago assumed it was something crazy like 200+ I don't know why he thought it was that high. Ouch. Anyway, I need air tools to get that thing off.
2) Didn't even get the oil changed because I didn't have the strap wrench to loosen the filter with and I couldn't get a hold of it to loosen it any other way. D'oh. I still wish I knew why they thought that was a good location for the filter.
3) I DID successfully rotate the tires at least.

OK it needs to hold together for 2 more days now. At least I know the halfshaft won't come off the bearing

Thanks. Thing is, it got later on and didn't want to bother you, so I just rotated the tires, snapped the center caps back on, and called it a night. Do you have an impact?

You know I'm starting to feel like a little bit of an idiot. Since I was replacing both the hub and CV axle anyway, I could have just used my angle grinder and chopped off the nut.

:duh:

Since everyone is talking about HIDs My right one has gone faulty! started flickering few days ago :hissyfit: ! It's under warranty so gonna go replace it tonight. It's the convincing part on my end that pisses me off. He'll be like I don't see anything , so i'd be like no look, c you can see it no? then he'd be like, aa but that's normal :undecided:, then he'd be like maybe its a weak connection somewhere or your ballasts? then he'll try to sell me relays and I don't know what (which I already have lol). So after discussing this back and forth for 15-30 mins he's finally convinced and replaces it for me.

Waiting for parts ordered, but did get an extra winch controller yesterday, just in case mine got smashed or run over or some other trail mishap. Did not want to be left without one.

I am going to order the 3/4 tons steering upgrade and tires today.

I got my wheel bearings in today as well. I think I may have to spend a few hours in the driveway tomorrow.

Took the truck to dealership today and they said all sensors are working and one tire valve stem had to be replaced. The low tire is still showing up on the dash and the service manager said it will take a some time for the truck to relearn the sensors.

If they don't back to the dealer I will go.

Replaced my front driver hub, CV axle, and the axle seal in the front diff. The hub came out with a piece separated in the back of it and the rear rubber seal torn on it, so yeah it looked pretty dead. I got all excited to drive it with it quiet again :wootwoot:

... Then I drove it and   :frown:

It is STILL making the same wump-wump-wump and howling noise in the front :worried: The only thing left for it to be up there is either something on the passenger side somehow, or the front diff itself. Both of which are shop stuff - the passenger side hub is under warranty, and I'm not even going to attempt the front differential. Gear oil level in it is fine by the way, though at this point even if it wasn't it would have been too late.

I hate putting $200 of parts into something and not having it fix the problem  True, the driver side hub was going to need replaced soon anyway given how it looked, but it still sucks!

Other than the noise how is the truck driving? I'm thinking it may not be in the suspenion but the engine itself. At this point I'm just guessing.
