That's basically what I did, except my clutch ended up being toast also. I bought a cheap used compressor from a scrap yard, stole its pulley and clutch, and put the new bearing in it. I think I paid 50 or 70 for the compressor. Still far better than a whole new compressor and redoing the whole AC!

That would have been my second option, of course, I still would have put a brand new bearing in the donor pulley just to be sure it wouldn’t fail the next week (just my luck). But looking in my clutch when I first cracked it open, I did not think it would ever work again (especially after being hot enough to melt the serpentine belt), but it works just fine now.

After going through the process myself, I feel like people wouldn’t be willing to pay what it costs to remanufacture these things. Especially when the mechanic tells them to just “replace the whole thing, and you also need blinker fluid” so it’ll be back on the road as quickly as possible.

Also found a guy who is willing to delete the trash can and install a new pipe all for 120 SAR ($ 32.00). Still debating when to get it done

Good deal, just hopefully his idea of a “pipe” isn’t a scrap piece of PVC duct-taped on!

Once you get it done, you’ll wonder why you didn’t cut the trash can off sooner. I love the sound.

No I sat down with him and explained to him that I want to cut the resonator off and add a "real" pipe and not something that will make the car into a Subaru . So he showed some amazing pipes for trucks like the F150 and Yukon. I was like why did I not find you before :bonk:. I told him I am looking towards a side exit exhaust.

I plan on hearing the sound from all the pipes after he cuts the resonator off before he welds it in completely :Lager Louts:

Filled it up. I'm not sure if it is because I ran seafoam through the gas tank, or if it is because I installed a catch can, or because I have been running BP gas vs Valero gas last few tanks and maybe it likes it better, but my mpg is up. Got 18.4!

Would the Airbag Part be replaceable. I want the middle to be like my current TB wheel with the round black circle with the logo in it

Osram NightBreaker currently. Got Hella on the way and still debating trying LED before Retro since these projectors do not like appreciate HID at all.

(It is actually a Peruvian guerilla general quoted in the Guns N Roses song Civil War,)

I just sent off an email about some beadlocks for the truck as well. I prolly should have kept the ones I had before.

I don't know why i was thinking it was from the song "Empire".. Oh well. Have you tried the 9011/9012 bulb conversion yet? I installed mine this weekend and I'm pretty happy with those as I live out in the sticks and do alot of 2 lane dark roads.

Took it apart the front grille because it keeps vibrating with the AC on. The clips are worn out. Thinking of getting a LS Grill with paint cooler and not chrome. Can anyone help me?

Help you with what exactly?

Glad to see you're alive and kicking up there Kenny!!
Hey thanks! It's been crazy. Finished college looking into military and not having my car for a while was boring. I got it back from my cousin in horrible condition. Lmao. Trying to fix the small things. I was asking for help as in which grill is complete on eBay. I keep seeing the silver cross bar one, and not sure if those come with the clips and everything.

They'll all have the clips, making them plug and play, but no bowtie. There are black aftermarket ones, may be easier to paint than the chrome ones. Main difference is there's no indent for the Bowtie, it would just bolt onto the front and be raised.

Fueled up for the first time post-PCM tune.
I got 18.998 gallons after 383.9 miles. That equates to 20.207mpg.
I was averaging 19.4mpg pre-tune, so I have picked up 0.81mpg for this fuel-up.

(Basing the following calculations on just one datum against an average taken over months is not the most accurate way of doing things, so keep that in mind).

I could travel 426.80 miles on 22 gallons before.
I can travel 444.55 miles miles now.
That's a variance of +17.75 miles per tank.
That's a savings of 0.8784 gallons per tank.
Assuming gas costs $2.20 / gal., that's a savings of $1.93 / tank.
I fill up roughly every two weeks, so that's a savings of about $50 / year.

Total cost of the tune was $121, so it will take 2.42 years for the tune to pay for itself under current circumstances.
So, any time the TrailBlazer is my daily driver beyond about November of 2018 is pure cost savings.
Neat.

Work day lunch break mod for the EXT. Got one of those video game rocking chairs to replace the seat cushion I had been using in the cargo area for when I go outside to eat and relax.

Placement works perfectly. Can rest my feet on the bumper step pads, still have enough head room without any problems, and can recline plenty before reaching the subwoofer box.

I made a little more progress on my Silverado retrofit. Nothing enough to put in my build log yet as it is the same as the other side so far, but I have the other headlight apart (and DID NOT scratch the lens this time!), the turn reflectors trimmed, LED modules fitted, and currently the first JB weld spots curing to hold them in place. More JB weld will be used to hold them more firmly, and the first one needs a little more cleanup as I had gotten a bit overzealous with the trimming of plastic.

When I make more headway I'll update the build thread.

Replace my license plate lights with LEDs the other day. Also finished my blue LED interior lights by replacing the cargo area dome light.

Oh, and two weeks ago I replaced my taillights because I backed into my mailbox and broke one. And earlier this week I replaced both headlights, the old ones were pitifully etched and foggy. Unfortunately after only two days, one light bulb burned out. So I went back and replaced them both with the Silverstars that were in my old lights. Now I have to get out on a dark night and aim them properly, they are ALL over the place, and NOT on the road in front of me.

Added a couple of rare parts to the truck...
And no roof rack lights?!

I found a TrailBlazer with a Waag brush guard at the junkyard two months ago, but it was completely destroyed from a collision. That's the most rare part/accessory I've ever found.
I'd almost kill for a Waag guard or some NF rack light lenses. Look at what this site has done to me.

I stopped by Napa to pick up some front sway bar bushings. The squeak is starting to drive me insane. That and the muffler's heat shield (which I have held on by zip-ties) are the last two squeaks/rattles I need to take care of and I'll be noise-free.
I'm half tempted to start a "noise" thread where we post rattles/squeaks/hums/ticks and the repairs we did to get rid of them, but I have to build up my personal audio library of sounds first. I'm still "low" miles compared to many other members.
Btw, '03 LS I6 4x4 SWB, I have the supposed 1.72" sway bar, measured as 1.744" on a digital caliper. There's some debate about who got the 1.72/1.80" sway bars, so that answered it for me.

Dumped in a car of BG44K. It's my last ditch effort on getting rid of the slight misfire issue I've been having. I told the wife to get on it while driving. Haha.

Are those heated or something?
Nope. Just have The North Face logo embroidered from the factory. And I'm a big snoboarder/mountain biker, so my heart skipped a beat when I saw the North Face edition in the yard.
And no roof rack lights!!

I couldn't have sprinted from that truck to my cavalier outside of the lot any quicker to get tools. Of course the one time I go in only looking for a TCCM and think I'm going to leave with just that, I find rare parts.

I ended up leaving the yard with the following:

2 NF Headrests
4 Chrome door handles (inside)
2 Clearance lights complete with cut wires
1 TCCM

A trio of summit whites... My friend's '06 Trailblazer, my '05 Colorado and my '05 Envoy. I was doing some work on the Trailblazer fixing minor stuff like missing clips, broken parts and a rough tune to her amp and subs until I have more time to do it better.

So finally got my phone tuned. Have a buddy that races SRT8s and has a shop in the next town over. He owed me a favor so today he picked up my truck and tuned her for me.

Just some minor stuff...
-removed torque management
-bumped the trans pressure up a little
-reduced shift lengths a little
-disabled fan and SAIS codes
-removed speed limiter

Can't wait to get on it more tomorrow.

Anyone have any other recommendations? There wasn't an order sheet for me to fill out, but he said if there was anything else I wanted to do, he'd do it.

If there is any other recommendations, maybe quote me here and post in a PCM thread for other members to be able access better. If there are no other recommendations I'm good with that too.

:tiphat:
