Purchased two 6v golf cart batteries for the trailer - good g*d, are those things heavy! Thankfully, the guy threw in a carry strap.
What sucked is that I ordered from one store, and had to pick up from another one, b/c store #1 was out of stock on the battery boxes (and they held up the whole order for it.) Since I need them for tomorrow, I couldn't wait for store #1 to fill the order. Grrrr....

Counting down until the weekend... Some window and roofing guys were trolling the neighborhood for business yesterday, and I agreed to let them give me an estimate on a new roof, since my current one is about 15 years old. I really wanted to tell the guy to skip all the spiel and cut to the chase, but he really seemed to be enjoying it. Naturally he found enough things wrong to warrant me needing a complete roof replacement.

Long story short, they would give me a new roof for $18K if I jumped in today, but will lock me in for $23K up to a year from now. Lifetime warranty, which is also transferable if I opt to sell the house later which is a nice selling point. BUT, I don't have that kinda loot, and can't add another payment to the budget right now either.

......milking the clock currently. Only a half day so it's not too horrible. Later the plan is to buy moving boxes and start prepping to move next month.

Of course the usual too - Gym, Tan, Rockstar.

It's a holiday here for Easter so I'm doing odd jobs I don't care to do on weekends. Also checking everything on the Envoy for my road trip tomorrow.

Off the day job, so met with the guys of the side job for breakfast, getting some misc stuff done around the apartment and chilling a bit, then going to my wife's 20 week ultrasound this afternoon.

Skeleton crew in the office today, so it's nice and quiet. Thankfully my monitors are up on a stand, so people can't see me nodding off in here

Instead of working, I'm researching attic fans. Looked at solar ones, thermostat controlled ones, and thought of maybe getting some sort of bypass to a switch, so if I know I'll need to be up there for something (cuz there's always something...) I could turn them on ahead of time to cool things down a bit first. :undecided:

The roof guy yesterday moved down here from Boston recently and hasn't adjusted to our climate yet. 80 degree day, and he measured 115 in my attic. Can only imagine how much worse that will be in the middle of the summer. Also considering adding a few more gable vents, as the sections without them, aren't open to the main attic at the peaks of the roof, so the hottest air is staying trapped. Not sure who designed it this way :weird:

I think it was a couple of drunks trying to get into their apartment, since they all look similar. My wife called our complex security and then dialed 311 for the police. I did have my handgun out since I heard them trying the key before I got out near the door. I told them this is not the door that they want to get into.

Being productive. Made a couple runs to Harbor Freight and Home Depot for some odds and ends. Since it's cloudy, been doing some things outside to take advantage of the cloud cover. People that were renting the house had a sink in the back yard to wash out paint brushes. The adapter had nothing to grip a wrench on, so I couldn't put the original spigot back in place. Got a different one with female threads, so now I can use a hose on the other half of my yard.

Should be doing house chores, but somehow managed to get a snack and turn the TV on before getting comfy on the couch to make this post. SMH

Decided to finally try the riding mower. Since we haven't gotten much rain yet, the grass hasn't taken off much other than some random seed sprouts here and there. Some of the weeds way in the back were getting a bit out of control, so this was as good a time as any to start getting used to the throttle/brake control and steering ability. Long story short, last summer it would take me 2 hours to mow and bag everything. Today, I was able to mow, bag, and shred all the clippings. Then walk the property with the string trimmer for the spots I couldn't reach, blow off the walkways/driveways/pavers, put everything away and get a shower in those same 2 hours. :woohoo: Probably could have gotten it done faster, only mowed at about half throttle so I could keep an eye on obstacles and such. Was really nice to feel a nice breeze as I went along, instead of sweating like crazy, cuz I'm not pushing the mower and hauling heavy bags, although it's not mid summer yet.

Chillin on the couch right now, need to head out in a bit to run a few errands, then back to the house to find something else to do.

You'll get a better cut going at about 1/2 throttle as opposed to full speed, I'm surprised it doesn't say that in the owners manual.

Can't believe the weekend is gone already and it's Monday... Boss is out on PTO since family is in town, another team member is out sick, so things are pretty quiet. Some system changes went into effect over the weekend, and it's made a couple of system reports become inaccurate. So I get to spend the next few hours figuring out what all changed, and fixing the reports so people stop griping. :compu-punch:

Kinda what I figured, and it might have said that somewhere. I paid the closest attention to the warnings and safety section, after the assembly one. Just kinda glossed over the rest of it. :book:

Just glad I got people on here that I can talk to. Life just hit the fan.

This group is pretty good for that, once we get to know you. Many of us here have had those "hit the fan" moments too, so we can definitely relate. :grouphug:
