Starting off an extra short work week, since I had planned to take this Friday and next Monday off as well, and enjoy the beach while everyone else was at work /school.

Everyone in the office is chatting about hurricane Irma, and you can quickly tell who was living here when Charlie, Frances and Ivan rolled through here in 2004 vs those who only heard about it, by the level of panic in their voices. Too early for all that, need to wait longer and see where it's gonna go first.

Parents have been texting me ever since Harvey hit Houston, and while I know they mean well, it's starting to get annoying. Hopefully wherever it does go, it keeps moving and doesn't linger in one place, like Harvey did.

Trying to stay logged on .

Seriously though, working tonight so I might just do a few things around the house and then try to get some sleep.

Change of plans, Chanin is sick so I'm staying home and smoking a chicken. Getting pissed is still on the agenda!

Ran some errands, found gas and fueled up the truck, hit the grocery store for a couple things. Shelves were pretty bare, but they had what I needed. Work gave us the day off so people could make sure their families were taken care of. Got a text from the boss that we'll also be closed tomorrow too, since the building doesn't have power.

If I wasn't sore from moving all my stuff back and forth, plus yard work, I would take my belated beach staycation today and go relax. Who knows, if work is still closed Thursday or Friday, I may do just that!

Went to @Sparky's house this morning and changed out the front shocks and end links on Chanin's Rav4. The first one was a bastard because we were playing around with how to compress the spring to get everything to line up again. The second one took about 30 minutes with lessons learned from the first one.

The rear end links beat us...who needs a rear sway bar anyway?

Got my USB charging outlets hooked up, and one of my motion sensing light switches installed. The kitchen is being difficult, since there are 2 switches that operate the light. Motion switch clicks when it's supposed to, but no dice, so more digging needed there.

Returned a few thing to Home Depot, that weren't going to work as planned. Forgot my wallet, since I changed into my yard work clothes right before. Whoops!! They still took my return anyway, which was nice of them.

Came home and went through my bi-weekly 2 hour routine. Hopefully finances will allow it, but I REALLY need a riding mower, cuz this mess is ridiculous in that heat even if it's first thing in the morning, or just before sundown.

Anyway, while cleaning the mower out, I noticed the neighborhood peacock looking over my handy work behind me...

When I finished cleaning out the mower and looked back, he was gone, headed down between the houses, where my back gate was wide open. Ran back and chased him out to the street. Went inside to rehydrate, and looking out my front window, I see him heading back between the houses again. So I go out the back to get to the gate before he does, but it turns out, he only wanted to get some water from the puddle created my my neighbor's AC unit's drip tube.

Changed out the front brake pads on my brothers 2015 pathfinder. Pretty straight forward to do. I've read on some enthusiast websites that these things eat front pads like crazy. I also washed the Voy and now just catching up on news from my home island of Puerto Rico. All I can hear is destroyed this and that.

Taking down the pool, putting a new tube on the rear tyre of Connors bike, laundry, going to the driving range and cooking dinner.

Spent the morning, and last night, getting the house cleaned up and ready for company this weekend. Buddy if mine is coming out from Orlando in an hour or so. We'll grab lunch somewhere, catch up for a bit, and play the afternoon by ear. Probably have a few drinks later :tequila:

So I've got an issue with people in the neighborhood taking advantage of the long street that runs down my house, not having any neighbors facing the street, and the street light at the end not working, to dump their unwanted and oversized items, instead of taking them to the dump like sensible people would.

So today after work, I spent about 2 hours, breaking down some moldy and urine soaked mattresses, that were "donated" over the last 2 days.

I got all of the foam and fabric separated from the metal framework and springs, and stuffed into the trash bins and a contractor bag. I'm REALLY hoping the trash guys aren't jerks, and ignore the stuff dumped in the recycle bin, without seeing that it's clearly trash too.

I know it's been a while, but I don't think I cursed so much to myself in quite a long time. With the lengthy list is projects for this new home owner, the security camera system project has just been fast tracked to the top of the priority list.

After getting done with this mess, I took a few pics with my phone from the back yard, to try to figure out where I can mount a camera that can see down the street well enough to hopefully get license plate #s, but be in a position that they can't be tampered with from outside the fence. Can't mount on the house, due to tree cover. Looking at some sort of pole/post setup a few feet from the fence, just behind one of my fruit trees. :undecided: May start a feedback/discussion thread this weekend to get other's input.

Working late on the servers. We needed more space soon, so I put new drives in a little while ago, and now I'm finally getting around to moving the data to them.

I would have dragged mattresses in street and lit them on fire.

Today is another day of work then a little Italian night dinner to support the kids school.
