What a crazy project this thing has become. My "budget" at the beginning was $1000  I HAD NO IDEA WHAT I WAS GETTING INTO ...:dielaugh:

Just curious if you dont mind..... about how much is into the project now?

unfortunately about $3,800 - $4,000 not including how much labor would be if I didnt have the tools / time to do it myself... I would be facing crazy labor money. both wastegates and turbo + balancing alone was about $1,850

Adds up, doesnt it?!

Ive been planning my build out very carefully, I know Ill run over as well but hoping if I budget everything that $500 will be enough to cover over-run.

You got it dyno tuned and dyno'ed yet? You're going to need to have it retuned in person because your setup wont be the same as anyone else's (including Limequat's).

All good man, I cant tear into my SS until I get my own place. Lets just say the folks are tired of having me take over their garage on a weekly basis. :hissyfit:

Second on the niagara meet on the 25th

Looks good! Are you going with an intercooler, cant remember now. Or just going to spray meth?

Why 2 wastegates may I ask? It's not a twin turbo setup...

Hey thanks Scarab. and its intercooled (30" x 7.5" x 3")

and sure thing....the reason I am running 2 wastegates is because the size of the turbo is pretty large (almost 3 eco boost turbos in size haha) so I need to by pass a lot of exhaust gas pre-turbo to control low boost (3 psi min - 8 psi max). I went with TiAL just to put my mind at ease...reliability and accuracy with controlling boost is a must...I have just seen to many boost-creep incidents or complete failures at autocross to buy a cheapo wastegate haha

I think a video will be in order for that fire up. I wanna hear how nasty it sounds with that big test pipe. Good job on all your work btw.

I agree, should be interesting noise coming from her with that test pipe. I gotta hear/ see this.

Thought it was intercooled. :D

I understand that, Im just used to seeing huge turbos on LSx engines with only 1 big wastegate is why I asked. In the 76mm range and getting ~6-700hp out of a 5.3 on an engine dyno. If only I could get that in my TB.:wootwoot:

here's a start

STS Turbo, Inc. - Chevy Trailblazer SS

well it fired up but still is not running right. I am not sure what to do at this point... any ideas based upon what is heard in the video?
I am probably having the computer tuned by limequat again to straighten this out  but in the mean time I will be double checking everything I have done.

it does sound NASTY tho open piped

WOW! Thats crazy loud. Are u running ur exhaust all the way out or doing side exit? Right behind the front wheel would be sweet.

I wish i knew more about engines and misfires, im more of a visual diy'er
Only thing i can think of is coil packs or the tune isnt right
And maybe the injectors not spraying propperly

I'll watch the vid in a bit lol eating mcDs and its really loud in here

whats it smell like, does it smell rich?

being that you swapped your harness i'd get a node light, check the wiring to each coil pack, and then check each injector connector.

then check the individual injectors with a battery

Wow sounds greattt! Maybe it just thinks its a muscle car and thats just how she purrs lool

im going to run it all the way out the back but its catless and all 3.25" or 3" piping so she will still rumble haha I want the turbo whistle of spool up and the blow off sounds primarily up front by themselves

good call I have gone through the entire inside wiring and will do as you suggested tmrw. Do you think new plugs would help? only a year old but possibly flooded?

smells like 93octane strongly and im getting greasy gas residue on the throttle body (like dripping) so thats why I want to get 60s instead of 80s

hahahaha yeah its super badass loud but unfortunately not running 100 percent YET :) soon very soon

ConeKiller, I sent you an email!

I think the roughness could be it trying to stall and stall saver kicking in. I may have to bump your base idle a couple hundred RPM.

Otherwise it sounds pretty good I think! Compare to this video, when I first put the 4.2 into the supra.

We'll take some idle fuel out too, but first need to get a scanner on there somehow. You're closer than you think!

HELL YEAH! thank you Limequat I am emailing you back as I type haha Thank you...you are the man  couldnt have done this with out your expertise thats for damn sure!

So does that mean you'll be making it out to our meet? :undecided: loool! :raspberry:

sounds ship shape cut a hole in your hood for your killer exhaust and hit the road......said every ricer ever :rotfl:
