First car....Whats left of it after rear ending a pinto then proceeding to roll it several times....'79 Ford Fairmont coupe

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

It was replaced by a '91 Dodge Daytona ES, that Daytona was then replaced by an '85 Toyota Xtra cab 2wd, which got replaced by a '90 Dodge Daytona base model, which got replaced by an '85 Honda CRX DX and that was then replaced by a '85 Dodge Daytona Turbo with Mopar performance Stage II ECM. No pics of the above due to loss of the computer they were on. During this same time i drove my parents '77 Dodge B300 "Maxi Van" which eventually became my van after the '85 Toyota died and i drove it off and on for a few years between the rest of them when i needed a HD vehicle to haul stuff. Eventually scrapped it after the rust got too bad to keep it on the road. Once again no pics due to loss of computer.

Wow that is an extensive history of vehicles lol

Mine is a bit simpler;

First Car - 1992 Sunbird SE 5spd Purchased when I was 16 for 1k, beat to crap and sold for $300 in less than 6months. Had a lot of good times in that car, as I was the only one of my friends who owned their own car in High School.

Second Vehicle - 1995 F150 2WD 5.0L - Bought this truck a few months after I sold the Sunbird, had it for 5 trouble freeish years and my only gripe was getting 8MPG (I wasn't too easy on the throttle..) it had a Lightning Suspension, shift kit, intake and exhaust. Sold for scrap after I was rear ended by a Jetta at a light, I had the firefighters who responded dig my exhaust tip out of his radiator. His car was a complete write off and I did carve a notch in the ball of my hitch which currently resides on my dads F150.

Only pic I have currently rest are buried on one of many hard drives.

This will be quite a list, but all were fun to own and I put a bit of work into each used one. All pictures are my pictures of the actual vehicle at some point in my ownership.
FYI - At one point I had 7 vehicles, mostly because there was a while I provided vehicles for my 3 kids to drive, all have cars of their own now. As you can tell from the comments below, I am down to just (4) right now.

1965 Pontiac LeMans 326 - First car, rusty, got free from family, drove 3 years and sold for $300.

1971 Chevrolet Malibu 307 (Base Chevelle)

1974 Chevrolet Corvette 350 base - just graduated High School, was a fun car, no A/C, Automatic.

1969 Oldsmobile Delta 88 - owned 1 month, replaced engine, junked after carburetor fire.

1979 Chrysler 300 Limited Edition (rebadged Cordoba 360) first NEW car.

1973 Chevrolet Malibu 4-door

1982 Dodge Omni 024 - bought NEW, totaled 3 years later, no injuries, I drove it home.

1994 Chrysler New Yorker (new larger LHS style) - Leased NEW

1982 Dodge Omni 024

1979 Chrysler 300 Limited Edition T-Tops (rebadged Cordoba 360) I liked the first one a bit.

1974 Chevrolet Corvette 350 L82 4-speed - Still have. Picture is right after rolling it out of the garage from a 1-year body-off Restoration.

1987 Buick LeSabre Estate Wagon

1983 Buick LeSabre

1991 Oldsmobile Toronado

1999 Pontiac Grand Prix GT - Leased NEW - Last new car, sofar.

I've had quite a few cars since I was 16 so I'll skip most of the daily drivers. I've also lost the mahjority of my pictures of my cars throughout the years for various reasons.
My first car was a 66 Impala 327 with a 3 on the tree (that's a column shifted 3spd manual for those of you who have never heard that expression) I had Cragar SS mags on it.
My second car was a 71 Cutlass S 350 Rocket, 350th trans, 3.73 posi rear. Factory bucket seat, 442 rallye pack gauges with a working tic toc tac. I replaced the factory floor shifter with a Hurst Dual gate
View attachment 27065

A few Oldsmobiles later I got a 79 Hurst/Olds. It was white and gold. Had a 358 rocket(350+.040"bore), 350th trans, rear end from a GN 3.42 posi later changed to a 3.73
View attachment 27066
View attachment 27081

My next mentionable ride was a 65 Chevy II. When I got it it was an all original car with 86,000 miles on her. She had an inline 6 and a powerglide trans. I built a 383 sb and added a 350th trans It was a turqouise color. When I had it repainted after adding the cowl hood it was resprayed with the teal used on the 90-92 Camaro's.

My next ride was a 70 1/2 Camaro RS. It had a 408 SBC all roller motor in it 350th trans, 12 bolt posi rear with 4.11 gears. This was also my first ride with a big Nitrous system on it. These pics are the day I brought her home. When I finished her she had a cowl hood, and I changed the color back to the original Citrus Green which was really a popular color choice in the early 70's but I rarely find someone who likes the color nowadays
View attachment 27068
View attachment 27069
Also at the time I had the 70 I also had an 81 Z28 with T-Tops. It was built a little more tame having a 355 with the Edelbrock Performer RPM package, 350th trans, 10 bolt posi 3.42 gears
View attachment 27071
View attachment 27072
I also picked up a third toy while I had the 70 and 81 Camaros, you guessed it another Camaro an 87 IROC-Z to be more specific. I ended up having longer then the 2 other Camaros, and I'm using what I learned from building it to what I am currently planning for my Vette.

A bunch more mundane cars down the road an I got a 2000 Durango R/T. I loved that truck and would probably still have except for my oldest son found out that ice, a dry spot, a sharp corner and a drainage ditch don't mix and rolled it a few times. I'm just thankful he's alive.
View attachment 27075

Here's a pic of my dads 97 30th anniversary Z28. He sold me the Vette to help pay for the restoration costs on the Z and then he ended up selling the Z after it was finished.
beforeView attachment 27078

Which brings me to my current projects my 87 Corvette and my 72 442

I also picked up a third toy while I had the 70 and 81 Camaros, you guessed it another Camaro an 87 IROC-Z to be more specific. I ended up having longer then the 2 other Camaros, and I'm using what I learned from building it to what I am currently planning for my Vette.

I learned to drive in a Chevy pickup with a 3 on the tree. Would like to have another, just to share with the younger generation.

That Iroc is beautiful. I want that body style t-top car in my collection one day.

I had several of thes S-Blazers and wish I had kept the 94 I had, but the motor blew and I needed reliable transportation, plus lived in an apartment and had no where to work on it.

my 94 bird. had it for over 10 years. Originally started life as a 3.4L/A4 car with tan interior, swapped it to an LT1/M6 with ebony interior. It was setup for open road racing when I lived in TX. The normal shit, longtubes, magnaflow exhaust, ported heads, cam, etc makes about 400 hp. Has bilstein racing coilovers, solid bearings/rod ends at every suspension joint, stiff swaybars, twin turbo porsche brakes and 18x11s w/ 315s on all 4 corners. Embarrasses the porsche and beemer guys when I take it out. Every year it scares me a bit in the corners for the first couple weeks. It handles too well to push it on the street, as far as handling goes its a sharp cliff. Needs paint. I got another block for a better engine. Just haven't had the time to get to it... spent too much time and money on the TB over the last few years.

Just did a little update to the look of my 2002 Impala since it needed new tires. Hit the sales and discounts right at Discount Tire Direct and got this setup for less than 200 more than just tires would have cost. MB Alpina wheels with General Altimax RT tires in stock sizes.

Well, I was riding motorcycles from age 4. Always had a blast. But that was 1971 and it might be a long time before I can find pictures back then. I found a few - only a few vehicles of my own, and then googled and found images as close as I could to what I had. The images of the bike and the Red Mustang King Cobra are pics of my vehicles. Others were googled to best match.

Wanna see 'em? http://gmtnation.com/members/mcsteven/albums/previous-rides/

Inherited Dad's 72 Custom 500 station wagon. First vehicle, rusted, wouldn't die. Fit 12 people no problems. Then hand-me down from Mom was a 76 Pontiac LeMans. Man, Mom had good taste in cars.

My first that I picked up was a 76 Mazda RX-4. Two door, rotary engine, went great. "Fill the oil and check the gas, will ya?" 74 BMW Bavaria was next for me. Predecessor to the 5 series. 3 liter, 6 cylinder. Manual windows, etc. But hey, I was 18 driving a Bimmer!

Along came an 87 Mustang LX 5.0. Basically stock :rotfl: . Ok, so basically means the color. 667 RWHP with twin turbos, driver adjustable wastegate, 3 inch dual exhaust, aluminum driveshaft, new axles, transmission, and a whole lot of other stuff. That thing scared the BeJesus out of me - often. While I had the 87, a 78 Mustang King Cobra came up for sale from a friend. He had done a great job with it, and so I grabbed it up. The car was a show winner multiple times. And while I had the 87 and 78, I found a 68 Fastback Mustang. 390, 4 speed. It just screamed power.

Well - all the toys got sold and I moved to the west coast in 96. First car out here was a respectable 95 Chrysler LHS. HUGE car, plenty of power, but too many things going wrong. So it was time to go smaller and fuel efficient. A 2000 Mitsubishi Galant. 4 cyl, all the power options. Loved that car, but it got hit - twice. The second time I was stopped and he was doing over 70. I thank God and the engineers at Mitsubishi often that I'm alive.

While I owned the Mitsu, I also bought a 2005 Kawasaki Vulcan 1600. 1.6 liters on a bike. Biggest bike I've owned.

With the Mitsubishi crashed I picked up a cheap 99 Taurus. Next I sold the bike. Had to take care of family business and figured I'd be on the other coast for over a year. And the Taurus...? Great car, but after needing it to sit for over a year, there were a lot of problems (I think some were caused by a nephew driving it, but I don't know for sure). Picked up a 96 Explorer. 4 liter 6. 2 cylinders went bad about 8 months later. Found my current ride, 2006 Envoy. SLT. Sunroof, 4.2 straight 6. You know the rest.

What do you think of the CUCV as a daily with the 6.2? I watched some Youtube videos on them and some say good some say bad. And the noise seems bad.... Why i ask is because i'm looking for one.

The only one I've cared to hold onto is my 92 RS 25th anniversary. Bought with my own money as a senior in high school in 2000. We've been through alot together. Here she sits in my driveway currently not running. Pulled the cover off for the first time in 2 years today. Hope to get her on the road before summers over.

I just bought a 2009 Subaru Forester X- LL Bean (Limited) Package. I bought it from my mom for next to nothing and it is in mint condition with 60,000 on the odo. I needed a new dd with the TB at 193,000 and rising because I have a 70 mile commute each day. It gets about 25 mpg and really is pretty fun to drive. I'm no stranger to Subaru as I have had a 1995 Legacy and my mom has had 3 Foresters and now an Outback. I did end up keeping theTB but it is 'on loan' to my sister and her husband who are broke and really needed a second vehicle. Really looking forward to getting the Subaru tinted out and putting a new stereo in it. Prob won't do a whole lot other that to it (although I really like the stock rims that come with the 2014 Forester XT...)

Daily driver: 2008 SAAB 9-3 2.0T high pressure turbo and fully loaded with every possible option. I still own my 9-7X but bought it because I drive 100+ miles per day and need something that's better on gas.

My 72 Chevy LUV and the 350 that's in it.

Those little trucks are so cool! I've got a 93 S10 Tahoe Edition, 4.3 auto, 2WD shortbed back home that I bought for $1500 when I was like 15 with money I saved from farm and brush cutting work. Currently only has a little over 100K on the clock, I'm the second owner. Such a great truck, I had it for so long and love it so much that when I got to my senior year of high school and got the Voy for college I couldn't stand to part with it. My plan is to keep it and someday waaaaay down the road I'll have a cool old S10 to restore and take to shows, plus I'll have what a lot of guys I see now want: their first vehicle!

96 CBR 600 F3, bought new in Dec 95.

Sold it 17K trouble free miles later in 2007 since an occasional joyride wasn't worth it after my daughter was born.

Could not find any picks of my 1993 Ford Thunderbird before it caught on fire, but I finally found some pics of my 1998 Honda Civic EX 1.6L SOHC 5-speed that I had through high school and college. Traded it in for my 07 TBLT. Best trade ever. The Civic was easier to work on than compared to the TB though.

Even though it was a ricer, I tried to keep it clean. The yellow paint on the calipers and drums was replaced with red paint within a couple days of painting them yellow. Also that large, loud, annoying muffler was hacked off a week after installing the DC Sport cat-back exhaust with a FlowMaster muffler, which was drastically quieter and sound/looked much better.

Looking back, that muffler was as bad and ugly as the resonator on the TB/Voy :rotfl:

Not much in the engine other than a performance intake, AEM pulley kit, DC Sport headers, DC Sport cat-back exhaust, straight through cat, front/rear strut bars, coilover lowering kit, clear corner headlights, Euro style side marker signal, 2000 Civic SI tail lights and spoiler, D/S rotors in front, Motegi 17" wheels, and of course window tint. Kinda wish I would have removed the side molding

Just messing with you, that's the cleanest Civic I think I've ever seen, if I could find one cheap enough that wasn't beat to crap it'd be a nice car so I could get some decent mileage.

:rotfl:

Thanks man, I have always tried to keep things clean and simple with mods. I took the same route with my Civic EX using Civic SI parts as us TB owners do with using TBSS parts. Sometime I wish I would have been able to keep it, but I was stationed in Quantico, VA at the time and lived on base so no where to keep the Civic and my parents were back in Ohio. It's ok though, I absolutely love my TB.

I use to get anywhere from 35-40mpg out of the small 11.9 gallon capacity fuel tank and it was great on the wallet to fill it up too. When I started driving gas was only $0.95 a gallon. I remember getting pissed off when it went over $1.00 a gallon  I cruised around most of the time in 5th gear which saved a lot of gas. Wish I would have taken more pics before I sold it, but the only difference was the red calipers and that annoying muffler was hacked off.

Cute wing bro.

J/K, that is a clean ek coupe, makes me wish I still had my Honda. My friend who was looking at buying the TB had one identical, except his tire had a blowout and he bounced it off of 3 tree's. Managed to have a brake rotor explode with the wheel still on the hub.

Makes me remember my Honda days, however instead of having exceptional gas mileage, I had nice power and mediocre mileage. H23 from a Prelude, modded to run with the H22 Vtec head, swapped into a 91 Accord DX. About 230 hp to the wheels, ran in the low 14's high 13's and managed about 20-25 mpg.

I figured the jokes were going to start rolling in, but hey at least the wing is OE from a Civic SI and not some huge ugly carbon fiber one. I was going to leave the OE wing off once I took it off, but the Civic just looked funny. Preludes were pretty fast. Never took my Civic to the strip.

You guys have to remember, the first Fast and Furious came out about the time I bought the Civic :rotfl: Maybe a little influenced :undecided:

I said goodbye to my 1988 Toyota Corolla 4WD this January after owning it for five years never letting me down. I love this wagon to death but it was such a rust bucket that it is starting to get embarrassing to drive to work. Mechanically perfect, all original still but it has the typical Toyota rust that comes with it.

I sold it for 600 bucks and added 400 more to get this TB from my buddy,

It is not perfect to begin with, hence the price. I have no regrets because the Nation rules. I replaced the thermostat, plugs, CPAS, changed the TC and rear diff fluids and cleaned the throttle body all the knowledge from this site. Running like new now. Thanks GMTNation!

This one falls into the "other" category of rides.

View attachment 33418

She's a 1960 (IIRC, may be a 61, tractor years aren't as important as the model, I could look at the Serial # and know for sure) Massey Ferguson 35. Got a 4 cylinder Continental 134 cubic inch gasoline motor, 6 forward gears and 2 reverse, and live power with a 2 stage clutch. She rolls on brand new rear tires and spin out rims (no, not ricer spinners, these rims turn inward or outward on ramps independently of the disc in the middle as a means of widening or narrowing the stance for hillsides or plowing), and front tires that are about 95% tread life. It's a little better than halfway through what I call a "working restoration," meaning I still use it almost daily during the summer and fall, but I'm slowly restoring it as I go. Still runs on the factory generator system, which is fortunately 12V instead of the more common amongst tractors 6V, and keeps the battery charged better than an alternator as long as you don't do any excessive idling, especially with the lights on. She may be ugly but mechanically she's a whole lot more reliable than about 80% of tractors newer.

Of course, I can't forget my beloved S10 either.

View attachment 33419

A 93 model S10 Tahoe Edition with 4.3 non-Vortec V6 and the 700R4 tranny. The only mods I ever did to this truck were stealing the brand new K&N ring air filter off the farm truck when we got it and putting it on, and going one size taller on tires so it didn't sit so low to the ground. I had to "de-old manify" it when I bought it 5 and a half years ago. Took off the whitewall tires (I know  ) that had broken belts and cords sticking out, and took off 15 lbs worth of stick on chrome. Also removed the god-awful bugshield that it had on it, which was about 8 inches tall and looked like it was stolen from a Peterbilt truck. (Found out afterward it was hiding that dent you see left of center on the hood there) It represents the last of the simple cars in America, there's no ABS, no airbags, no auto headlights, relatively few electronics, and no problems!

I don't see any rust on yours :raspberry:

Her's was rusted on all four corners and the rockers plus was a rust color to begin with and starting a carbuereted car in winter is always fun. 13" wheels cut the snow well! Needed an entire new steering rack and leaked/burned about a quart every 1000miles or more. Told the dealer I had another trade in offer for $1000 and they gave it to us when we bought her car.
