not anything impressive. 2001 oldsmobile alero. 4 cyl inline, FWD. it was a nightmare sometimes. Driving up I-75 completely snow-covered, drivers made their own lanes and almost got creamed by a semi. another time last winter, had a snow day so out of the kindness of my heart i took the dog to the park with six to seven inches of snow. i was a skilled snow driver- always maintained traction, no sudden movements etc... but when i hesitated in the parking lot for the quickest second, and i was stuck. spent an hour shoveling and chipping the ice under the tires- think i burnt off a good portion of tire too! but on a positive note, later that day driving to the store i powered past a 4x4 jeep stuck on a steep hill by my house, passing him up good.

but bless little Ms. Aiesha the Alero AKA LAMBO, broken connecting rod punched right through the block- i told the old man he needed to look at the car, that metal noise isnt natural... died twenty miles later that weekend.

that's all i have to say about that/

I too had a Grand Prix! I think it was a 1983, but I can't recall for sure. Mine was a Type LJ....which meant it had the buckets and center console shifter. I loved that car, the damn thing wouldn't die. I had planned on driving it until it died, then buying something new. It never died and I gave up on waiting.

I used to love those. I had an 82 LJ in high school. I would have killed for T-tops. I was one of the first in the state of MN to have a subwoofer and high end stereo system, in that car. My friend's older brothers friend supposidly brought trend over from California. Back then people would stare in wonderment at the sounds coming from the car. The trunk had a 15" sub.

Ha! Now I wish I could find a picture of "Ziggy the duck".

My Catera, considered one of the worst cars that GM ever made ran circles around my TB in terms of reliability. It was a very under rated car for its time. It out handled BMW 3 series of the time. My dad has it now. 130k on it. Still looks as good as this photo.

Here is a pic of my wife's 2000 Mitsubishi Montero Sport XLS after a fresh detail by me. I like it a lot but its a bit smaller inside the cabin than the TB so we don't really drive it as a family that much. It's mainly just her daily driver, and we will probably get her a sedan or crossover of some kind sooner or later...
4bf21615-23e9-5822.jpg

And this is my dad's 2004 Cadillac DeVille. It's only got 45,000 miles on the clock. He's getting older and really doesn't drive it all that much, so he let's me borrow it really any time I want. It's great in the winter with the heated leather and heated steering wheel. Drives like a dream and has tons of trunk space.

All images came from google search.

View attachment 17487 77 plymouth fury - 1st car, the chicken, as mine was more yellow, the tires were worth more than my dad paid for it
View attachment 17491 82 toyota corolla - 1st car I owed money on, 1st car of mine with a car seat
View attachment 17488 87 nissan sentra - I owed money on this POS too. What a piece of crap
View attachment 17482 1st 79 camaro - bought one like this for 500.00 as a second car while still owning the nissan
View attachment 17489 85 olds wagon - sold the nissan when the engine died and bought this one - ours was green - think family truckster.
View attachment 17480 2nd 79 camaro - some teenager wrecked the black one so I bought this one
some where in here is an 86 celebrity wagon I owned long enough to fix it and trade it in.
View attachment 17486 92 olds wagon - the 86 celebrity was hated by wife so we traded it for this one, miss this car it rode like a caddy and was very reliable for 10 years
View attachment 17492 85 s-10 blazer - the blue camaro got totaled by an inattentive driver so I bought this for 400.00 and put a new engine in it for 400 more
View attachment 17495 97 grand am - The blazer got totaled by a old man watching a girl with a short skirt instead of me stopped at the light. lost mobility in my left arm and hand from that accident too.
View attachment 17483 86 bronco - what a beast - 235k and I drove it to the junk yard cause the floor where the seat belt mounted fell out
View attachment 17481 96 bronco - bought this one hoping it was as good as the 86....NOPE...
View attachment 17496 89 gmc suburban - had this given to me, I put a new motor in and miss this one too, ugly as sin but rode real nice

View attachment 17484 03 bonneville - bought this in 06 and sold it this year with 160k and a lot of little issues, was great on gas though
View attachment 17497 - and last but not least the TB - given to my wife and I when my mother in law bought the VUE in front of it. She has since bought another TB, she hated that vue.

WOW 25 years of driving, and 17 cars, ugh that's an average of 1.5 years per car. In my defense sometimes we owned 3 vehicles at a time
(all math must be checked as I was too busy chasing my wife to pay attention in math class)

These are all Google Search pics of my past rides because I don't have any digital pics of my actual cars. I found pics that were as close as possible though...

1st car 1995 Subaru Legacy LS. Great car, loved this one with the awd in the winter

4831dfc4-476e-81aa.jpg

2nd car was a 1994 Acura Vigor GS

4831dfc4-47a8-9919.jpg

3rd was a 1993 Audi 90CS QUATTRO. This thing was bad ass. A beautiful pearl white color.

4831dfc4-4801-9018.jpg

After dumping TONS of $ into that Audi it finally crapped out on me in 2004 and I bought the TrailBlazer.

My buddy just got this. He and i are tearing it down and gonna rebuild it. Got it running today. Has sat for over 3 years. Body needs completely torn down and repainted. Needs rewiring. Got it running today. Does needs a carb rebuild. It is a 1967 Berry Mini T with a 1967 1600CC VW beetle motor with a 4 speed. This is going to be a blast.

You understood 100% why I asked. Too bad you can't get the SS, but a good LS or LT TB will do just as well and get you, your passengers, and cargo where you need to go.

Haha yeah, they are definitely sweet trucks. My ex wife would shit her pants if I bought one.....which in it of itself would be a fun reason :rotfl:

Maybe after a few years I'll upgrade to one.....

As some of you know, the trailblazer is my dad's and my older brother owns a 2003 Eclipse GTS, both of which I do 100% of the maintenance and repairs on. I drive them both from time to time, but I drive the trailblazer a lot more than the eclipse. The eclipse is fun to drive, esp. with a 230HP 3.0L V6!

IMG_0645.jpg

I had a 1997 LHS that my brother gave me to drive for a summer so that I could get to and from work. It is by far the best car I have ever driven! It was big, comfortable and not too bad on gas. It underwent open heart surgery (head gasket replacement) and was sold off after a garage (crappytire) forgot to tighten the drain plug and the car ran dry. Long story short, I filled it up with straight 40 weight to fill in those (now not so great) tolerances and sold it to his buddy, who only wanted it for a couple months. I heard that 4 months later, buddy's brother floored it on the highway and a rod came shooting out of the block .....:rotfl:

Oh, and how could I forget Ol' Besse!

Picked her up for $800 for the winter, sold her for $1000 in the summer after some cleaning up. The owners had clearly neglected this truck! It would bog down like it was hauling a 50,000lb trailer and had a bunch of spliced wires. I had to flush the coolant 4 times because it was so brown/sludgy. I could only imagine how much oil sludge was in that engine. It's too bad I never opened it up and rebuilt it. It was a fun truck to drive, simply because you just don't care about beaters but you love them so much lol

Haha, if we're throwing up "look-a-likes", here is my first car (at least, looks like it), a '55 4 door, mine was two different blues:

My 3rd vehicle:

a 1964 Corvair convertible (mine was green with a white top). Mrs RayVoy (b4 she became Mrs) learned to drive in this one.

Several cars ago I had an all options Eagle Vision TSI with the 3.5 liter. It even had the ultra rare OEM spoiler The same as the LHS but much sportier vs luxury like the LHS. Still the best handeling car I've ever owned. Not a big Chrysler fan but the Eagle was a nice car. Sold it to a stripper for cash when I finally got rid of it.

Those with no surviving PICS are:

1964 AMC Rambler American 220
1972 Pontiac Catalina
1984 Ford Mustang
1989 Pontiac 6000 LE

Then there's these surviving PICS, the "1970 Malibu, the "88" RS, yep a 1995, and 1999 Minivan, and the "06" Mazda Tribute bought for my duaghter that year. I think that's all of them!
