Tried to get the 18 mm bolts loose for the rear calipers on our 06 Trailblazer. I couldn't budge any of them on either side. Was worried I'd pull the vehicle off the jackstands!

This is probably terrible advice because it's dangerous to put body parts under the truck when it's on stands without wheels on, but I was having trouble and was able to get a breaker bar on them in a way that allowed me to slowly step on the end of the bar and get it started. Also, hit it with lots of PB blaster and let it seep in. If you've never cracked them before they seem to come with loc tite or something on them from the factory.

Just hit the tool with a small sledgehammer and they will come loose. Using brute force is no use.

What...

A small sledge is precisely brute force.

I think Harpo meant instead of pulling as hard as you can, hit the handle of the tool with a hammer of sorts which will give it more force to break it loose.

Which is brute force....

But the hammer adds vibration not just force and thats why it may work better.

Yes I know lol. But not in the way that it's likely to pull a vehicle off of the jackstands. But I don't find it possible to pull a vehicle like ours off of jackstands, at least not mine, and they're nothing special.

Mine has come off a stand before. Scary stuff.

I usually put the rim underneath the frame as backup, in case I ever rock my truck off the stands somehow. I would imagine someone with some bling bling rims might have some hesitations doing that.

Post man delivered these today, gonna be going Dmanns67 style with some 5630s, so I'll be installing once I get home.

I was gonna get the dual color 5050's from iJDMToy, since those were the closest I could find to the ones I originally got from Autolumination, but they were almost twice as much as these. They are claiming the 5630 LEDs are 2x brighter than the 5050's. Some other sellers were saying they are 4x brighter. We'll see how much of an exaggeration that is...

I wish the switchback strips had worked out better. Hell if there had been a way to remove/reinstall them without having to reopen the headlights, that woulda been fine too. But for that much work when something goes wrong, it's gonna have to be something I made, so I have a way to try to fix it.

Do you ever buy stuff like that straight from China? It's a lot cheaper but I can't bring myself to trust it. I know that's where all of them come from but I can't stand waiting two weeks for shipping plus I just feel better if the product is already in the states.

Yeah, I usually buy all my LED stuff from overseas, unless I'm pissed about a busted mod and don't want to wait, as was the case here. For things that are more likely to require a warranty claim of some kind, I'll lean more towards domestic sellers. But for bulk LEDs, resistors, or components that I'll be assembling myself, definitely cut out the middle person.

I would say the 5630s are twice as bright as the 5050s. 4x as bright would be an exaggeration IMO. Amber is not bright to begin with, might not see a huge difference, but in the 194s I can definitely tell a huge difference. I will have to take some comparison shots when the wife gets home from work with the TB.

LEDs may be cheaper from China, but I hate to wait weeks. Plus if you have a failure it is a pain to send back. dt-autotec has free shipping and like Carlton said, very fast shipping. Plus if you have an issue with the LED, you are sending it to Cali instead of China.

:hissyfit: Just tested the switchbacks, I didn't realize they flash AW, which isn't gonna work for me. I'm gonna have to return these and see if any of the other sellers with 5630's have ones that flash AO instead. :Banghead:

I've bought stuff from china before. They say it will take weeks but it usually doesn't. Plus alot of times there is a personalized hand written thank you note tucked inside.

What type is it that Kevin sells? I got mine from him at the same time as I ordered my Cree headlights. (which I still need to ship the dead driver back....doh!)

Not sure what Kevin sells, I was thinking he's got the ones with 3528s, I don't know if his supplier has switched to 5050s or not. In my searching, I'm seeing some places advertising they use a 5730 smd instead of a 5630, saying that it has more lumens. Currently, I'm on the fence between these 2. The 2nd one has dual color LEDs, which I was accustomed to with my Autolumination setup. :undecided:

2x Switchback 1157 7528 Dual Color Amber White High Power Turn Signal Light Lamp

2 x 3157 Samsung LED 22W high power 22 dual SMD chips White Amber Switch Back

Yeah, all of the dual color SMD setups seem to be right around that $50 mark. I saw some of the side by side versions with the projector lens for $25-30. Decisions, decisions.

AW is garbage IMO. Dont know why they still makes those. Looks like a strobe light.

I found this one, 5630 SMD AO for $27. US seller out of Cali.

That first link you posted looks like it is a 1157 base, not 3157. Also never heard of 5730, wonder if that is a typo :undecided: I will have to check Google.

Put in the third passenger assembly and this one has a broken bowl like the first screw depos headlights

Does not appear to be a huge lumen difference between the 5630 SMD and 5730 SMD, maybe 5-10 lumens.
Yeah, I didn't think anybody was selling AW anymore, guess I shoulda asked first. I had about half a dozen tabs open, musta grabbed the info off the wrong one. I did see the one you linked to, but they only put 2 LEDs per section around the sides. Can't work with that  I made an offer on the dual color ones, we'll see what the seller says. Are your 194's switchbacks too, or single color?

Is the bowl itself cracked? Or the mount to the base of the assembly that's broken?

Its the tab inside the assembly im going to email depo myself thats rediculous for three in a row to be junk when they make our tail lights perfect

Drove the kids around since my lil princess thought she needed to ride in the "big truck"

I have (1) set of amber and (5) sets of white. Never bought 194 switchbacks since I don't have a clear reflector. I have never squinted when my interior lights come on a night until I installed these 5630s.

Do you have a pic of this broken tab? I cannot picture what you are referring to.

Emptied my wallet for the truck today. Also known as filled it with gas at $4.15 per gallon

Smoke those taillights Josh! :rotfl:.. I do love the light layout on the Depo tails, but i hate how they look cleared like that. If i ever get LED tails, over just my bulbs that i have now, i would do the Depo and immediately smoke um

looks good man.
