Exactly.

GM Bigwig: I've noticed whenever we release a vehicle, there's tons of companies making all sorts of stuff like lightbars and stuff for it.
GM Engineer: Yeah, it's nice to know our vehicles get fans.
GM Bigwig: No, you're missing the main point. THAT SHOULD BE OUR MONEY!!!

Never did get around to installing my CPAS yet, stupid snow and more stupid snow with a side of more stupid snow. Light hasn't come back on yet, in fact it was running pretty alright when it went off but now it's back to what it was doing before so it'll come back for sure.

After this one wakes up from her lunchtime nap...

I'll be taking care of these... I'm at 95K miles, but I figure I'm close enough to change the plugs, check the coil boots, and see if a sporatic hesitation at idle goes away.

Congrats man, now the fun mods can begin!!!

Got my maintenance taken care of, pulled the PCM fuse for the TB cleaning. Some of the plug wells had traces of oil on the insides, but only plug 3 had wet threads. The tips didn't seem to be in too bad of shape.

I did pull all of the coil pack boots, and noticed this buildup. Could this be a sign that the boots need to be replaced soon?

After firing it up, the engine had a funny, uneven idle to it. It was like it was giving itself a slight tap on the throttle, and would bump the RPMs up to about 800 every other second or so. Torque gave me a pending P0300, so I'll be going for a quick spin down to the gas station to fill the tank, and see what happens after a couple of drive cycles.

Stupid question, but did you pull the battery or the PCM fuses (both of them) for 30 minutes or so while doing all this? Otherwise the PCM's still trying to run with what it expects on your dirty throttle body.

Would have felt even better if the first bill for my new car hadn't shown up the same day. But yeah, it is nice to know I actually own it.

I pulled the fuses. Usually when I clean it, I don't bother with the fuses or the battery, the PCM relearns the clean TB within a couple of drive cycles anyway. But since I was changing the plugs and air filter, I figured why not.

When I fired it back up to go to the gas station, the CEL flashed for about 15 seconds, and the idle was much worse than the initial test. It finally went solid, and a scan came up with P0301. Weird thing is, I swapped coil packs #1 and #2, and then the misfire went away. So maybe I didn't have the first coil seated well enough the first time...

Surely we can see some pics of this with that classy camera program of yours? Time delay?

You can slide them forward to burn the fronts up before new tires? :undecided:

Well, we had some freakish weather here in Ohio again (go figure right). Last night into this morning it snowed 6", stopped by 8am, and then it got up to 40* so all the roads were nice and clear. That being said, my brother (JosueLT) and I decided to do some work on my fathers '06 Z71 Crew Cab Colorado. He had a tear in the leather on his drivers side seat, so for his birthday gift, we chipped in and bought him a new set of OEM leather seat covers. Then for Christmas, I bought him Rockford Fosgate Prime series replacement components for all 4 doors since his rear door stockers were blown. So my brother tackled the seat, and I did the door speakers...

yes, he used duct tape to stop the tearing :rotfl:. We just had to fix it for him

I am in love with the quality of the Rockford Fosgate prime series replacements. I have them in my car, my father has them now, and I will be swapping my current AutoTek components in the beaSSt to Rockford as well.

The TB belongs to my lovely wife, so mods are pretty much out of the question, HOWEVER, I did remove the crossbars from the roof rack. My excuse is to better remove the snow (though it's doubtful we'll get any more this season.) I'm hoping it will lead to an eventual rack delete.

Got to crawl first, I guess.

I checked my tire pressures. Well technically yesterday, just never said anything. Or maybe it was Sunday. Oh well, I did it and both front were 5PSI low and both rear were about 2-3 low, fixed that!

I hear that Kyle... been doing the same thing for the beaSSt. Been heavily debating the idea of blowing my warranty for the motor out of the water and just reinstall my tune, efans, CAI, 160* T-Stat, and purchase/price out, Long tube headers, a fender well intake, and get an updated tune. Decisions, decisions... I've already bought a couple of things, cosmetically, to spruce up the outside appearance... I'll be posting pix and plans as they get delivered.

Yea I've been watching those and listening to the vids heavily on SSowners... only problem is, emissions... they don't offer the catted y yet and in Ohio, there is only 8 counties that have to have emissions and guess where I live :rotfl:.. one of those 8 counties , so I have to have a catted y for now...

Watching offroad videos gives me bad ideas.... I got regular cleanup and maintenance to do, but also a list of things to build and few items to buy. Truck has a newfound respect after the last couple trips to Badlands. It has me motivated to mod it again. Been a bit since it got any real love.

As I eluded to earlier, I purchased some goodies for the beaSSt to get her ready when she comes out of hibernation. I bought a used set of OEM headlights from a member on tbssowners so I can attempt to crack them open and clear the corner lenses myself...

how much closer are the front tires to the ball joint? Any cause for concern if you were to happen to hit a pot hole or decent bump in the street.

been reading your write up for days now over and over and over again, and I've been watching videos on youtube of the member JD_SS from ssowners who has been making these lights for the members (he no longer makes them and he sold all of his clear corner lenses :hissyfit: so I have to make my own). I'm pretty confident in cracking them open and If I do ruin them, im only out $40 lol...

Cleaned the crap out yesterday, washed and vacuumed today. Going to steam clean the carpets once we're done with this salt crap. Looking forward to changing out the front bumper cover this spring and adding some factory fogs.
