Youll know when your cats are plugged. Ses light and poor gas mileage. Your vehicle will feel like it falls flat on its face when hitting the gas.....otherwise known as" limp mode"....

Update....damn it wrong thread. (Tapatalk)

Replaced my CPAS, finally! The old CPAS not only had the middle screen set clogged, but the part that sticks out of the motor was able to turn independently of the inner part, so the pressing was likely failed/failing anyway.

Now on to the next project - O2 sensor! Just showed up, takes about 2-3 seconds to go from high to low or low to high, and is reporting O2 fuel trims of +/-10% or so. That's where my gas mileage and smooth idle went :undecided:

I'm starting to believe that's supposed to happen when you take them off. I've taken off 4 lens covers in my time on this earth and broken all but 1.
Luckily the screw seems to hold the lens well enough. I've been meaning to sneak a little superglue in there so the lens is tight to the mirror.

Put a new airflow mode actuator on Mom's Envoy. Not as bad a job as it's made out to be, just a little awkward to get to.

Tried to do a simple oil change n washer nozzle fix along with general checkup on the truck. Should a never touched it.

Rock chip in windshield is now a crack in front of driver.
Pass ball joint is toast n couldn't get right kit to change it. Tried w hammer...fail.
Upper control arm bushings done for. Where's cheapest replacements? Arms or bushing...figure bushing only not worth effort.
Found more spots of rust that need attention... everywhere!
Tie rods have way too much play so gonna need to swap them.
Couldn't find power steering leak.
Realized about every other fluid is due for change.

Few positives...fresh oil, nozzle working, skid for oil n transfer case pulled for leak location and repaint. Skids have done their job.

I dropped one of my power steering pump bolts which went down into the skid plate today, went to retrieve it and noticed the plate was cracked, making that swinging panel more of a drop-down now. But somehow, NO(!!!) damage to the oil pan! Not bad....

And didn't you know how the maintenance goes?

Perfect...perfect...perfect...part...perfect...part part part part part...perfect...perfect...perfect....

I replaced all of the overhead bulbs with LED bulbs. HUGE difference in color and brightness. All that did was make me angry at my dash lights, so I replaced all of them with blue LEDs. Pictures don't do justice to how cool it looks now.

I actually found that plastic piece that broken off and superglued it back today. Next time I'll try to be really carful when I take it off.

Installed a DeeZee tailgate assist on the Silverado. Lets you release the latch but controls the decent so it doesn't bang down. It is a DeeZee DZ43101 for Chevy/GMC Silverado & Sierra 2007 - 2013. The 2007 is probably New New Body Style, that is looks like all years following.

I did the same thing on the driver's side the first time I pulled the cover to install LEDs. I used gorilla glue which lasted for a few years then gave out. Ended up using a little JB Weld which should hold up through the weather and temperature changes.

If you guys are having a hard time finding the lenses to replace them after all fixes have failed, the dealership actually sells the lenses pretty cheap. Granite I get my fathers discount for parts, but when I got my clear lenses, they thought I just wanted the lens without the socket and I want to say they quoted me under $10 just for the lens... just throwing out another option for you.

It's not all bad. Now you have advance notice to watch the rear diff fluid level, instead of driving driving driving CRASH! Differential is gone! And of course know where to fix it up.

So will the clear lens fit the older TBs as well? Same mirror design for all the years?

Yes, there's a bulb under there. In some models, the dome override knob to the right of that also lights up.

Yes, all of the lens options are interchangeable with each other. Mine didn't have mirror turn signals stock, but I added the clear lenses and some LEDs for my turn signals down the road. Swapped my clear lenses over to my aftermarket power folding mirrors, and they fit on those too.

Damn, I've got even more bulbs out than I thought!

:iagree:

One of the best LED mods that I have done to the TB. Makes the single 194 LED look like a joke.

She was thirsty so I filled her half way up and gave her a bath. Its amazing to me what the winter months can do to a paint job and the damage all over the truck. Damage wise my fault. Backing into a frozen snow mound breaking the rear valence grill filler.( i have 2 brand new ones now for each side) My front wipers are in need of paint. One of my wheels was leaking air constantly...they repaired the bead so it'll hold air. My painted wheels are chipped up...now I hafta repaint those. Getting some newer oem wheels next week so I can start on another project. I need a winter dd. Dont give a shit what it is....as long as I can make it to and from work.

after Carlton wouldn't let me give up on opening up my headlights :raspberry:, I attempted to crack open the passenger light (royally jacked up the drivers side :rotfl:) and the results were successful :wootwoot::yes:, but now that the light is open, im just letting it all sink in that I actually did it and I'll tackle the clear lens part next, then sealing it up to see if it holds... if all goes well, then i'll buy an official set to crack open and take it from there...

I marked out where I needed to cut so I could keep an accurate line. I cut on the flat side of the blue tape.

thx for the tips brother :grouphug:

to my amazement, cutting on that tape line was the key... and I have the whole outer ring that I cut off to put back for a more cleaner look. After looking at your pic you texted me, I was like yea he just cut at the crossbar section :rotfl:, so I went at it and to my amazement, she came apart... now I don't know if I want to do my factory lights, or just buy the visions on ebay :undecided:

and I love that EZ-Lock dremel kit... literally cut that chit like butter

Yeah, it's like everyone says about hand/power tools, the proper tools make all the difference in the world.

Your first light is still salvageable IMO, it just won't be as nice looking as the other one and you'll need more RTV to seal it water tight.

yea I already junked that light :rotfl:, I did save the amber lens and housing though so I can practice on the clear lens portion of the mod.

I parked it for what will probably be the last time for a while.

It looks like it is time to start looking at a possible new full time daily driver. I think at 188k miles the Bravada has decided to call it a good life. It looks like I spun a bearing today and have some rather serious rod knock. It is still running, but is only a matter of time before it becomes a catastrophic failure. Before you say it, it is parked and I am not driving it anymore. The jury is still out as to what its future may hold. I think that it will become a project truck to start working on with my children in preparation for their upcoming drivers licenses.

To get rid of knocks, you're supposed to ask it who's there? Then it'll drop some lame joke and you can get on your merry way.

That's the suck.

Also, we don't have an emoticon for "pouring some out for the homies", or I would have posted it.

Somehow got most of Mom's Bosectomy done last night. We decided to extend the Bose harness so we did not have a large cluster of wires running under the rear carpet. So that will be finished tonight, then hook up the power wire, and I can start tuning. :wootwoot:

The cheaper the light diffuser material you buy, the easier it will be to melt with your heat gun on a lower temp setting. The $5 sheet I got from home depot was perfect, and allowed for 3 pairs (cuz I did mess up my first try). I know when Jimmy tried to make some, he used a higher quality material, and it wouldn't soften and reshape.
