I changed the oil in the diffs and fluid in the transfer case (no metal shavings:dance:). Also changed the spark plugs with delco's and found a little oil down in the valley's on two of them. Not on the firing pin but on the threads of the plugs. Not freaking out about it, but guessing I'm gonna have to handle it sooner or later.

I wouldn't bother. Common to happen on DOHC inline engines. That tiny bit of oil over 100k miles is nothing to worry about.

Yeah I'm not too worried about it. I will monitor it for a while here an there and maybe in the future torque the valve cover considering theirs not much torque on them bolts, and I found other loose ones. She only has 62k.

I'm still trying to diagnose some noises I started a thread about. Hopefully I can get her all figured out by next weekend.

I've read some of your post and hope to hell I can get up to those kinda miles.

Thanks Sparky

Got one overflowing tank of gas. The pump shutoff didn't work at the station so I had gas all over the place :hissyfit:

OEM LS2 Heads ordered will probably get these ported and cleaned up and have all the springs installed and ready to go to make my cam install go as smooth as possible.

did spark plugs today. i didnt go with the AC Delco. i went a cheaper route and got autolite platinum. ive heard other members say theyve had no problems. I also took my rear diff cover off to exchange fluid but i found that the gasket was completely shot. waiting for a new gasket ($35.99) to get the envoy rolling again.

Went to oreillys and bought 2 quarts of royal purple 75 90 synthetic gear oil for the rear axle and some castrol for the front axle. Then went to the dealership to buy auto trac 2 fluid. U know what i am doing after working this weekend.

Bought 12 litres (3 jugs) of mobil1 synthetic because it was on sale for $24 a jug normally $44

Dont know if i wanna change my voys oil (3000kms since last change)
Or see if i can make a deal with the dealer for the saab 9-7x and change the oil for that

(Little update: i'm gunna go look at a 5.3 9-7x sometime this weekend or early next week. The dealer wants $9000 but needs a little TLC (few scratches and the emblems came off) and the flip out cup holder is broken. Im gunna try and use a 4.2 saab i found for $7500 from another dealer as a barganing tool because its silver and has 20,000kms less and better condition but a 4.2 instead of the 5.3)
Pretty much same hp in a more fuel efficient engine is what im gunna tell them lol

I found more stuff on tbss to buy. I got a set of ls2 rocker arms and this will be the only stock part in my heads but I'm still changing them to a comp cam trunnion bearing system. No unkept bearings means no little bits flying through the valves upon failure.

Hey the good thing about the 5.3 also is it takes 1 less quart per oil change XD the 4.2 calls for 7, the 5.3 calls for 6. Unless you install a deep C6 pan that is. I normally go to Costco when they have Mobil 1 Synthetic on sale, I get 6 quarts for $28, and grab 2-3 boxes at a time lol. Even with Napa Gold filters (same as WIX) I only spend around $35 per oil change with full synthetic.

Wow we just bought 3 5 quart jugs for 25 a piece. Normal price at Walmart. Just another thing that is expensive in Canada eh?

Why the two different types of oil?

Only 3000k? That oil has barely been in there yet and plenty of life left. No point.

I reinstalled my front inner fender liners. Took some cutting to match up with the cutting I did on the sheet metal, just used zip ties and the plastic rivets that were still good.

Speaking of which, does any one know where to get the foam pieces that go behind the inner liner. My driver side one disappeared, junkyards only TB was pretty screwed on the driver side.
