I installed my bigger shift knob that I purchased from Short Bus. Waiting for it to stop raining to install the modded taillight boards that I also bought from him.

I bought a piece of silver carbon fiber vinyl wrap that I am going to put in the strip. I think it will look good.

Went to the dealer and the engine builder to see the progress... we're at a stand still right now. Service manager is on vacation and the builder wants to upgrade the internals (better rings, pistons, bearings, bolts, oil pickup relocation, etc...and he has 2 other LS2 motors there for the same exact problem, spun bearings due to oil issues) but not for performance purposes, just to have the stock motor last longer... of course this is all on GM's dime, so I have to talk to the Service Manager to see if they can come to agreement and approve the upgrades... I'll be getting a phone call tomorrow as well. While I was at the dealer, I talked to my dads coworker and he is crunching the numbers for me to sell/trade in my SS...

DISLIKE! DISLIKE! DISLIKE!
If you're getting the internals upgraded for reliability and GM approves i dont know why you'd get rid of it...
If i get an SS the first thing im gonna do is either get the c6 pan or the PCM of NC oil pickup relocation

That's what my father is arguing me about... and as I told him, do you pay $300 a month for absolutely nothing in your possession? I don't like just throwing that kinda money away. .. if it was in my garage, then that's a different story... and don't get me started on how their molesting my SS... finger prints everywhere from them pushing it around the shop, bird shit on my hood while its just leaning up against the wall, oil on my front bumper from pulling the motor, and they're leaving it outside at times because it is dirty as hell, has water spots on it now, and is dripping wet... they just don't get that its a garage kept vehicle that doesn't see the elements outside! So while the motor MAY be upgraded and MAY last this time, would you have paid $300 a month for nothing? I've paid enough and I don't trust anything anymore... so yes, even with an upgraded motor, If the number is right, she's gone...

Sometimes you got to know when to cut your losses. Hopefully you will get the right price you are looking for so you can park another toy in the garage.

I don't blame you one bit. Hopefully you can bring it to C-bus, or a new whip to show off, but like I said before, I don't care if you show up on a tricycle, as long as you come.

Is the SS shifter metal? That looks the same as my LT. Maybe mine was upgraded at some point or was it available on LT's?

No it's not metal, it's leather clad. I think some of the LTs came with the same shifter.

I meant the center. I didn't figure the previous owner had upgraded but I was curious.

It won't be ready by then Shawn... the builder can't even get to it until October since there's a 4 week waiting list (but that's better then 6 months lol) he has a huge reputation and everyone goes to him... plus, with him pushing to upgrade components, I think I'll be battling GM for a while...

Well i hope everything goes well for you one way or another, at least its on warranty still.
If it wasnt i'd be telling you to throw a ls3/7 in there, there are a lot of cheap ls1s out there too if money was an issue

My LT came with the same shifter. I was not aware ot was the same shifter used in the SS. I thought the center piece was brushed metal not plastic, but I have not taken it apart.

I do have my old shifter that I had to replace when the button stopped working. I will have to check it out.

That would be a good shifter for someone with an older 360/370 that doesn't need the button.

Glad to see I'm not alone. Sure feels like metal to me. Brushed aluminum was my guess.

All of them need the button to work. The older ones had a smaller uglier handle but still have a button.

Federal Lemon Law - Magnuson Moss Warranty Act: Yes, there is a federal Lemon Law and it can help you when your state Lemon Law won't. The complete text of the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act appears below. This warranty law is called the Federal Lemon Law. It was created in 1975 and it has remained virtually unchanged ever since. This federal warranty law is designed to require certain minimum warranty rights and disclosures to be given to all consumers on all consumer products that cost more than $15.

If a manufacturer does not live up to their warranty or service contract on your car or truck or other consumer product, then you may be able to use this Federal Lemon Law to make them pay you compensation or repurchase the defective product (buy it back) or replace it with a new one that works right. You can also use the Federal Lemon Law to recover your attorney fees.
Here is the website Federal Lemon Law, Magnuson Moss Act, Federal Laws For Lemon Law Cars, Magnuson Moss Warranty Act, The Magnuson Moss Warranty Act, Magnuson Moss Warranty

I don't even think you would have to go stroker keep the gm crank it can handle the power add some lunati rods and some pistons and wrist pins. And get a big ass cam. Easier said then done but a warranty starts to become irrelevant if you replaced flawed parts with more junk. Hence crate motors and 4l70s get thrown around like candy.

Pretty sure its metal or something like plastic, not soft like leather.

Filled it up with some 92 and drove it the 65 miles to work. Wish I made a bunch more money and could afford to drive it everyday, cause it is so much more fun to drive. Rolling through the tight downtown streets with 35s and the stereo up...I am pretty sure people were moving out of my way, cause it was way smoother sailing than in the Impala.
