Thank you for the congrats and Likes. I would also like to thank all of the members from OS that are here now, GMT Nation and my hard working foreign friends up north that made such an awesome engine. I think the Envoy engine was manufactured in Canada, correct me if I'm wrong. If not, Canadians are still cool.

I can see this being easy for lifted vehicles, but not so easy for dropped vehicles. My pumpkin nearly sits on the cross member above it when on the ground, and even when I had the frame up on jackstands and the axle hanging down, I didn't have enough room to fit my bottle of diff fluid upside down comfortably lol.

Speaking of which, do you even need to jack up your truck to access the rear diff, or are you high enough up that you can crawl underneath just because of the height?

I cant get the bottle upside down, but just over sideways off to one side with about 3 foot of hose. Thats why you have to squeeze it in. I did the same on a stock one and on an explorer just recently.

I do not jack mine up for anything underneath unless I need the tires off. :raspberry:

Lucky lmao. I had to buy a pallet jack to go under the running boards, and get that all the way up to fit my regular 4 ton trolley jack under the front cross member. I can still get to the rear diff, but I have very little room to jack the handle :rotfl:

Rotated the tires, checked differential oil levels, checked the brake pad life, and greased all the ball joints, tie rod ends, and sway bar links.

Just had a bad Discount Tire experience. They weren't overly busy, so not sure what happened today, never had a problem before.

Got 4 Hankook DynaPro ATM RF10 109T 245/75/16 for $476 shipped ($97 each + ship)
Went to Dicount Tire to get mounted for $20 per for dismount/mount/balance. Should of been pretty routine. Took forever to explain that I had the spare on and the flat in the back and I wanted the new tires on the stock rims and spare tossed in the back with the 3 good takeoffs. The guy came out and asked if I want letters out and I said black facing out.

Fast forward 45 min, I come back in and they tell me they weren't able to put the spare back under the truck (I specifically said toss it in the back) and that when they tried cranking it down, the cable came out the side of the crank and I have to take it to a mechanic to fix. You would think they would know to pull down on the cable when they try to drop it instead of getting it all bound up, or just leave it alone since they are always messed up. Oh well, I figure I can fix it.

So I go out and get in the truck, and I see the white letters out... Seriously, WTF... Why ask if you aren't going to do it right anyway. Not the end of the world, whatever, doesn't look horrible. At this point I just wanna get out of there, they were getting ready to close.

I look in the back, no @#$!@ tires. So I have to stop and go back in and get the 3 good take offs.
Not gonna stop me from going there again, but this was not a good DT day.

On a good note, despite being sub $100, the tires are great. Was a bit wet out today, good grip, smooth ride, very quiet, good on the corners... So the ride home helped me forget that I just didn't get what I wanted today lol.

So, what cha think? White letters look good? Or turn em around? I can have my brother change em for free, his wheel balancer was just having issues today.

Noticed a 6" round drip spot on the driveway,.....:undecided: baby doesn't drip.

Crawled underneath and finished tightening the trans pan drain plug from my Saturday project. :bonk: Could have been much worse.

Got in the drivers seat and felt something crack and the right front of the seat sag a bit. This evening I found a link broken there. Going to have to research here and the OS to figure what's up.

You'll have to cut the opening for the door yourself, takes a couple minutes with a Dremel.

I'll start it off this morning:

It was pretty warm here yesterday, but it was very cold this morning. So I clicked my remote start while getting ready... Went outside, it's not running. Get in the car, key in ignition to Run... Just interior overhead lights and no dash lights. Jumped the battery using mom's 4Runner and drove 20 mins/ 15 miles to work... According to my records, I put this battery in 4/15/2009, and I think it was supposed to be a 5 year, so I will go to Advance and have them check it after work.

Also of note, I heard, for the first time, and very briefly, the sound of marbles rattling in a can near the PS pump... Only a matter of time.

Just completed the install of my Alpine 10" sub and amp with Q-Logic sub box. Overall I am very happy with the look and I still retain my cargo space. The bass produced by the sub definitely compliments my factory Bose system.

Thanks! Thats one of the main reasons why I went with the setup. Its looks clean and and I like how the sub box cover matches the interior panels. Since I use my cargo area quite often and still wanted to have some bass, the Q-Logic box seemed to be the best route. While the cargo area is empty, I leave off the compartment cover to the amp to prevent heat build up. I did notice tonight on my way into work that when I had the radio volume turned up more than half way, my dash lights and headlights would dim when the sub would hit. I believe I will need to install a capacitor to alleviate this issue. :undecided:

No no no no no no no. The correct way to tackle this problem is in this order, from cheapest to most expensive depending on how much you're willing to spend.

1. Big 3 upgrade
2. Upgraded front battery
3. Upgraded alternator
4. More batteries in the rear

Don't waste your money on a cap.

Thanks for the heads up! Looks like I will be adding more items to the list. I have seen MAY03LT's Trailblazer "Big 3" You Tube video. A couple questions though. My amp power cable is ran from the accessory terminal near the fuse box under the hood. Would it make a difference to run the power cable directly off of the battery post itself? Second question is what battery would you recommend to upgrade to? I currently have an Intersate 85 that I installed about 6 months ago.

Pretty much this. If you're pulling from the fusebox, you're running it through the same wire that is powering a lot of the accessories on the car. Straight to the battery is the best bet, and yea for a good budget AGM battery I would also recommend a yellow top. If you wanna shell out the cash, an XS Power D3400 is about the best battery you can fit in the stock location.

Yeah that makes sense. To do this I will need a GM battery terminal post upgrade. Basically I am looking at the picture below.

Any preference on either?

I used to have the same style as the 2nd picture and it worked fine but one of the adapters ended up getting stripped with normal on / off. The top one might be better off if that's a single bolt, just be careful and make sure to start threading which ever one you buy by hand before using tools.

NO NO NO. Don't use Optima crap. Since they went to Mexico the quality is not there. Find a AGM battery. There are a couple battery threads on here with good info, but most offroad and stereo guys that abuse batteries use Odessey or similar. I have a Duracell branded Penn AGM battery that is awesome and reasonably priced. The DieHard Platinum is a rebranded Odessey and many are having luck with it. Do a little research on here and you will find a much better battery than opticrap.

Definitely make sure you hook direct to the battery. I switched to a dual terminal and hook ups are easier. Use big enough wire and slap a fuse near the battery for sure.

Nice looking setup.

You could also replace all of the lights with led's or HID's  Then you wouldnt even notice!

I have the HIDs, exterior LEDs, and interior LEDs covered. All the lights behind the dash are still stock though. I was actually surprised to see my HIDs dim. I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me until I shut off the radio and the HID had a constant output.

Gotta admit this is actually better advice, I'm just so used to Optimas being the go to cheap AGM battery lol. I know quite a few people who swear by Diehard Platinums but I've never owned one so I don't tend to think about it. If you have a Sears near you, go check it out over there and see if they have Diehard Platinums (like Hardtrailz said, they are Odyssey batteries), better than Optimas for around the same price.

How long does the effect of the heat gun last on the plastic? Looks good

Honestly, i really don't know. I've heard it should last as long as the original color did. i figured, i already had the heat gun, what's there to lose?

Hey MAY03LT, is that the color dash you needed?

Got some Side steps in, I just can't win on this truck. All the brackets had problems with the powder coat, clips and cracks. Even the side step had a big hole in the powder coat. I thought I'd at least test fit the brackets... and the bolts they included aren't the right thread...

So all packed up and waiting for an RMA. I just can't win...

Brackets all look like this

True and they look as good if not better than using a trim restorer. At least you do not have to worry about it washing off.

I know its a little different application but I can't say enough about odyssey batteries. My dads had one in his plane since day one. (A pc680) the original battery is in my 4wheeler now and cranks it great. It's now going on 10 years old. It was pulled out of the plane at 8 years old because it was cranking slower than normal. There a little pricey at first but they last for sure!

Todays the day I am going to drop the tank and REPLACE for the 2ND time the fuel sending unit. Last time replaced the sending unit and the fuel pump together with Delphi. Lasted not quite year and a half roughly and even fuel level went off. Today it is Dorman time .. I will see how they last. At least the warranty is better with the Dorman. So having a great day on my side I love doing stuff twice.

Replaced a locked fuel cap. Not sure if it was leaking, but the locking mechanism in my fuel cap broke, so it would "lock" but a firm CCW turn would allow you to remove it without a key, making the lock worthless. Replaced it with another Stant.
