Just completed the easiest and maybe the cheapest electrical mod (Capacitor Mod). Now I have my perimeter lights again without the buzzing from the ballasts when I hit the unlock.

So ya I did tell ya bout the new DDM but forgot to tell about the drive to the dealer :rotfl:, it's in another city 20 minutes down the hi way. So I'm on the hi way having bit of fun accelerating up to merging speed at WOT, then cruising along doing 75 then WOT up to 95 coasting to 75 n so on, cruising along like a Nascar champion and having fun. Then I get into town and stopped at a light beside a grand cherokee, the lanes ahead merge into one. I was first off the light so I WOT to get out in front and merge. All was good and acceleration was great, then when I let off the pedal to my surprise  the Envoy kept on pulling hard at WOT, I had to kick the pedal to free it up. It was jammed on the edge of the floor mat, the mat was just a bit to much to the left and allowed the pedal to get stuck on it. I moved the mat to the right but as you can see it still makes contact. So I'm gonna trim about a 1/4 inch off the bottom of the pedal. I wouldn't want this to happen to my wife when she's driving, she'd probably panic...

I had the same thing happen in my old 95 passport... scary:redface:

She keeps the broom in the garage and it looks unused for sweeping, are you trying to tell us something?

Like I said there was a blue one there, but it has since been trashed because it was worn out from me sweeping up the garage after projects and general cleaning. Now I am forced to use the pink broom :celebrate: , but its not like she will ever need it lol.

My wife would be pissed if I used her ride to sweep

Out with the new, in with the old... Put my stock headlights back in, quick test to make sure I hooked up my HIDs correctly, and to have one last look at my 194 switchbacks before taking them out. I seriously felt a piece of me die when I did that, I'm not kidding :sadcry:

Installed TransGo PWM eliminator valve so the TCC is an OFF/ON instead of being variable. Includes enlarging hole in separator plate for stronger clutch holding in TC.

Flushed 4 gal of trans fluid and refilled with Valvoline MaxLife.

Replaced bent RR axle shaft, bearing, seal.

Water pump went out. While the mechanic had everything out asked him to order a new fan cultch. 3 hours later she sounds quiet and nice all over again :smile:

Smart!

I showed off the Voy at the New Castle, DE meet and found [drum roll please] a burned out bulb. One of the little 194's for the left front turn signal. Fortunately I had the 2nd one in the package from when the right side burned out a year ago. Now that I know how to take the Voy's headlamp assemblies out, the fix only took a few minutes.

Looks like you have quite a bit of work ahead of you. What projectors are those? HIDs are good in stock housings, but once you finish your retro the difference is phenomenal. There is no way I could ever go back to stock! Just an FYI, the OEM TB headlights are permasealed, but the majority of aftermarket headlights for the TB can be baked open instead of cut open.

Yeah, I drove my Camaro this weekend for only the 3rd time this year so far and drove at night. Dang, the HIDs in projectors are nice. REALLY need to get mine finished up for the TB before the midwest meet! That's the goal.

They're Morimoto minis. I've had my VVME kits in for about 3 years now, and I love them. One of the ballasts sometimes doesn't fire on ignition when it's dark, or i parked in the shade. Turns out, it only fires when it sees more than 12V :weird: If I turn the key on, and hit the lights, it won't fire, only if the engine is running. So I decided to do a complete overhaul to my HID system, instead of just get adapters and use the existing stuff.

I'm gonna try to reuse my currently modded lights, since they've already been cut open before, it will be cake to get them back apart. Just need to take a closer look at the lenses though, they are a bit fogged up, but I need to make sure that's something I can sand/polish out, and that it's not those dreaded spider cracks :worried: I don't wanna have to buy another set of headlights if I don't have to. That money can be spent building a vacuum table.

Yeah, seeing how long it takes for 'complicated' retrofits to get done, I need to get on the ball long before our meet this fall. Messing with some of the circuitry for my LED parking/turn signals isn't going as planned, so I need to figure out a plan B (probably C and D too just in case)

Changed the oil, rotated the tires, and blacked out the grill. I know, I know... Still have to do the bug guard. Used Krylon Fusion, black satin.

This is from yesterday on my GMT400 Sierra, I installed the light bar i had here for it, installed the Heavy Duty lighting harness, installed the Airraid intake and messed around with the HIDs to figure out why i had no high beam. Turns out the HD harness solved that one indicating that the harness that comes with the HIDs does not allow enough voltage through to properly run them. Or at least doesn't allow for it in the older GM trucks.

anyways...pics..

Burned a 10.4 nav disc for my Saab Nav system in my Envoy, and it didn't like it. Pulled the DVD out, and it looked like someone had poured acid on the backing.

Back to my computer for another 36 minute wait to burn another disc. Put it in, Worked perfectly!

Since most of the roads around my house were built in the last 5 years, I was lost, OFTEN!

Need to see if I put these on the market here, if anyone would buy them now.
