I was going to do the caliper's today, but I backed out since I'm not exactly sure what color I want to do. I'm tor between dark pink, dark purple, or candy apple green lol

I think dark people would be sweet. I'm planning to do mine candy apple red

I haven't decided yet. I have to order online for more choices in color. Red is nice, but everyone does red, and while it looks bad ass, I want something different.

Whatever color I decide to go with, it will be a "trim" color on the truck as I plan on painting the covers under the hood, and very possibly the wood trim inside the truck. Once I get my windows tinted and the calipers painted with new rotors I will be done with the outside cosmetic mods. Then I will be working on doing the interior swap with all black, but I plan on doing that last since it will be the most expensive of the cosmetic mods.

Business trip to NYC/LI. Cranked the Voy at 5:05 AM and nothing. How is this possible? Ran fin yesterday. But battery is almost 4 years old.

Woke wife up and got a jump from her car.

A coworker up here gave me another jump and lead me to an Auto Zone where I got a gold top. We changed out the battery in the parking lot.

Your rims look MUCH better black  Are you going to paint the GMC on the center caps the trim color also?

I vote pink for your paint

I think Short Bus will get gold at some point.

Thanks, I couldn't agree more! As far as painting the GMC on the caps, I thought about it since it would tie it all in with the calipers. If I don't like it I can always sand it down a bit and repaint it black.

I vote for the pink flows well with that new black paint job. Pink calipers w/black gmc logo or black calipers w/ pink gmc logo+pink gmc logo front grill and rear hatch ( if it's still there). You did an awesome job on the wheels might I add

I vote for candy apple green. Think it will pop out great! Switch to hot/dark pink in winter(contrast w black wheels/white snow?!?)
P.s. I know what shade of green to paint the wife's calipers now, thanks!

This past weekend, I took it camping to let it get a little dirt on the tires. It gets mad when it sees to much pavement time.

check w/ HIGHVOLTAGE, if he's still doing vinyl.
he did some center cap bowties for me in a couple diff. colors.
easy on/ easy off, no sanding or repainting.
go with dark purple. :twocents:

Jeff has been crazy busy, and I'd hate to intrude on him right now. If I were to ask him, I'd want to wait until this fall when things for him settle down a bit. I think Harmless might be an option for me, I just hope vinyl will stick with all the mud and crap the tires see.

i have white ones my chrome rims, and red on my winter rims.
they have lasted 3+ years.
as long as the rims are clean when you put them on,
they should stay until you take them off.

I washed them REALLY REALLY good with a combo of windex and a bit of vinegar.

Today- I washed the truck, though it's dirty now due to the pollen sticking to it and water spots...it really needs a good wax to bring out the shine but I can't do that yet, since it has only been about 2 months since it got painted. I also shampooed the inside carpets, and mats, vacuumed it of course, and wiped down the inside including windows.

I painted the rear plastic step thingy too, body color matched. I still need to paint the side view mirror caps body color but that will probably have to wait until later on this month. I also plan on painting the roof racks and running boards.

Been a busy busy day!!

Between yesterday and today I also painted my rims. would of had it done last night but when buying the white paint someone while at walmart put a can of very light eggshell in with the white and I must of been spacing off when buying them and got one white and one eggshell. so needless to say i painted my rims with the eggshell and when my wife went to get me one more can to do the center caps the center caps were white and didn't match the rims. so i had to repaint the white. But here are a couple of pics

I did too back in November and never got them lol and he lives 2 hours from me :raspberry:

He has just been super busy per our conversation yesterday.

Edit- I wanted to mention that I'm not overly concerned that I didn't get the decals either, I know what it's like being busy.

The Paint we used was KRYLON Fusion for plastic. I had originally bought it for the grill and had a can left over. Then we bought the black so we could both do the rims. I got the satin they have gloss available, but I didn't want the rims to be super shiny. she used a clear coat on hers. I haven't yet. The paint says no sanding or priming but I went ahead and sanded the rims down a little because I had some flaking on my rims.

Name of the game today was to start removing the redneck. I removed the silly side steps, the lund visor, the roof rack, the bumper lights, and a couple of confederate bumper stickers. Started trying to salvage the carpet, and decranked the torsion bars to level the front with the sagging rear leaf springs. Not bad considering I also worked on two retrofits, went food shopping, did laundry, and took a nap.

Lund Visor? Is it in good shape?

How bad are these bumper lights?

swapped in the new spare tire cable (thanks jrSS) and tossed in some husky floor mats... I read all the reviews and people seemed to like them. So far I think they feel like cheap plastic, but I'm sure it's something like ABS. Fits more or less ok, but I don't like the side lips near the doors and for some reason the rear seat mats have big humps for the front seat mounts, but aren't actually that close to the seats... Oh well, better than the dealer mats that were already falling apart.

View attachment 27841

It just seems like they should be about 3-4" longer to get closer to the seat

If I were just a bit closer I would

.
So today I decided I need to delete the heater system hoses  to get all this $hit to fit...this will be excellent until winter, but Im not even thinking about that right now! gotta get it on the road soon  I am simply taking the outlet coolant hose and connecting it to the inlet hose fitting.

Does anyone have an idea what size the hose is? - just curious... Thanks

Very nice , Just like I thought it gives the illusion of turning at a different speed at certain speeds, kinda like a airplane propeller as it spins (I won't mention helicopter propellers here). I like it a lot, well done Phantom

Well done with the white. I still don't get making your wheels look like spares with black, so this is quite refreshing. May do it on the 07 or at least the same pattern and leave the alum where the white is. Really make the wheels look far better than stock.

I originally wanted to do color match where the black is but other than ordering it online nobody around here has a spray can of color match.

I find it awesome how both of you painted your rims and just cruise around lol
Voymom- your rims look a lot better
Phantom - that white looks real good

As for the calipers a brighter color like the green or pink will be better cause it gives it the POP
I did mine rims in a graphite grey and calipers in plastikote red and it stands out a lot, see a lot of eyes on my truck the past week :wootwoot:

Voymom- I did some photoshopping for you, also you should paint the rusted part of your rotors either black or color matched with the calipers
