Last night I helped my friend install a new fuel pump in his 03 TB. We had dropped the tank on Sunday found the leak on top of pump on the smaller tube, very rusty. We put a Bosch pump in. He didn't like the green o ring it came with so he bought an ac delco OEM black ring with collar, also a new locking ring. We swapped out the fuel filter too because it was clogged a bit. Had some extra time so we cleaned the throttle body as well. Truck runs much better. Next job for him is to try to fix the plactic piece on top of the tail gate(with third brake in it), it's all bent upwards from opening with ice up there. I hope it's easy to get apart and fix.

Abandoned the Voy at the shop for its operation, aka maintenance of the drive-train. Actually yesterday!

Takin` her up to the tire shop later to get her bald shoes off... Want to get in and done before the rush when "Frankenstorm" comes next week...

Update: Got the tires swapped out and he gave me $10 off the price so I got all 4 mounted and balanced for $30... Gotta love a loyal local two car garage kind of guy....

You know you have a good tire guy when his name is "Smokie"

I'd been wondering what Buford T. Justice was up to these days. Now we know

well, I got my nitrous all done finally! and the purge kit as well. I will need to adjust some things because the voy went a tiny bit lean on my wideband gauge so no serious runs yet, not until I get the lean situation regulated.

I will just have to adjust the fuel solenoid or call the quits on this build....the newer proton system from NX is way too expensive and Id like to keep chipping away at the expenses for my turbo build but I definitely had fun doing this though.

here are a few pics of the setup and video of some purging.

Replaced tires with set of Cooper AT3's 255/65/17's. Next up, new h/u and speakers.

I'll be interested to see how you feel about them once you've got some miles on them. The AT3 is the tire I want to put on the TB when its up for tires.

noticed some bearing noise in the belt tensioner pulley. looks like the tension part is working fine, so went for the pulley only.

ordered Goodyear 49006 Gatorback Idler and Tensioner Pulley from amazon. supersaver shipping makes this cheaper than rock auto.

What I did in the last 2 days

Picture of driver side front fenderwell, how it looked.

20121027_141422.jpg

Decided to take a wire wheel and clean up the fenderwell and remove the liner

Driver side cleaned up

Passenger side

20121027_141444.jpg

A little satin black, looks much better

20121027_154354.jpg

Had a friend reweld my DJM Upper Control Arms. Maxed out camber adjustment still had me around -1.8 degrees, this should get it back to almost 0. Plus he also changed the angle slightly to make the ball joint straighter when installed.

20121028_124804.jpg

Also sprayed satin black

20121028_140856.jpg

Had a few friends tell me I should spray it to match my rear control arms, so fuck it red it is

20121029_124806.jpg

How the engine bay used to look

20120806_085523-1.jpg

Engine bay now with the new PCM For Less Fenderwell Intake and new washer tank. Need to find a new coolant tank though

20121029_125728.jpg

Only picture I could find that showed camber before

Current camber

How did you clean up, is that just degreasing and scrubbing your ass off or repainting?
what paint?

I used a wire wheel cup brush attached to a cordless drill to "scrub" the frame, fender, spindle, etc. I've tried degreaser and elbow grease, it doesn't even come close to what the wire wheel did. The driver side pictures show how dirty it was before, the first passenger side picture is cleaned up with the wire wheel, and the next shot is after I sprayed it satin black. Thanks Jr and ram

Edit: forgot to mention, this was Satin Black from Ace, it was their brand spray paint. Right at $5 a can, I love how it sprays. Tried a few different brands, this one works for me.

fr34kout, that looks sweet, almost new again.

I was looking to refinish my fender liners also with some rubberized coating, any tips on removing the fender liners? They look to just slide out but curious if you ran into any snags.

Pretty simple, there's 1 10mm screw on the rocker panel, about 8 easily visible clips, then 1 behind a little corner of the liner and the last one I had a hard time finding is right behind the fog lights on the inside of the bumper. Gotta go under the truck from the front and look up into the bumper to see it. After you remove those you just gotta wiggle it out.

I modified the auto fogs slightly yesterday after removing the mod for what I thought was a problem.

I bought a 2 pole single throw switch and wired it into the bridging wire, so I can turn the auto fog function off at will. I use it in winter, but not in summer. The switch was $3.80 at a local electronics supplier. At the moment I left the switch inside the panel, but I will mount it somewhere on the dash during the weekend.

Some goodies came in the mail today. Refills for my spare fuse kit, extra megafuse, and an extended side terminal battery bolt (for the ground side). Will be putting these in when I get home.

Most likely just a fuse popped when you were reconnecting the new battery and it sparked. Check the fusebox under the back seats. No idea what fuse it would be, but I'd wager it's one under there.

Its #41. Checked the fuse and it doesn't look blown (insides are intact and doesn't look melted). Switched it with another fuse from the truck and it still doesn't work. I'll get a new one tomorrow to cross that "T". I have a Sony Xplode, and when you turn the truck off (after the aux power shuts off) the radio will beep/chirp. When you pull the fuse and put it back in, the radio will beep/chirp but stays off (otherwise silent/dark), so I'm thinking the fuse is good.

I actually got outta work early and decided to tackle the front brakes! I sooper sized to the 5.3 brakes they fit just fine with the 17" wheels about a 1/4" between caliper and wheel. I got everything from napa of course since I work there brakes feel good no issues I test drove it and seems to stop a little quicker grabs better of course cuz they're new but.
Can't wait till Saturday to do my diff and t-case service! Hopefully my lift kit comes in Friday so I can tackle that too.:wootwoot:

Check fuse in the back of radio? My sony one has one in the back. Make sure faceplate is secure and did you try holding the source button? I know theres some auto off functions and what not so maybe the radio "dropped" its marbles

I tackled a squealing front brake, i.e. glazed pad. Also, while I had it all apart, I painted the rotor hub (black )and caliper (silver) to match the rears!
