Found a new series on the discovery channel called Homestead Rescue. Binge watching it instead of going outside in the heat. Sorry envoy...I did put your sunshade in the windshield.

Went over to moms house looking for ways to bring the upkeep down so it will be easier on us as we devote more time to her care and continue our own lives at the same. The hedges along the sidewalk are going to go. Plan to yank them out with the envoy. The tree that over hangs the power lines im going to pay someone to cut it down and the big water maple in the front ill have them top it. The pecan tree in the back yard is attracting unwanted vermin and we do not have the time to keep the nuts picked up so im going to take it down myself. Waiting until it is closer to fall with cooler temperatures before anything happens though. Next spring im gonna plant a tree where one used to stand many years ago in the front yard to shade the house during the afternoon. One day i would like to do a remodel and live in the same house i grew up in. Rent the house i now live in out.

Well I haven't been I here in awhile but finally got my valve cover gaskets and seals done so hopefully no more oil leaking in the cylinder, next up is the secondary air injection system but that won't be for a little bit. For now the rough idle is gone

Kicking off my last week at this job in a boring fashion. After training people for most of last week, I'm handing off duties today to let people get reps, wait for them to run into issues and ask for help. This also tests how good the SOPs I wrote are.

So I have nothing to really do but mess with my phone and listen to music :bonk:

 no one's been in this thread all week? Y'all some slackers man! :raspberry:

Counting down my final 60 minutes at this job until I cut out of here for the last time. Gonna make a Lowe's run after getting some lunch, and then have an eye Dr appointment this afternoon.

My boss brought in doughnuts, parked them right on my desk too. I managed to pawn off most of them, but 3 met their fate by my hands :satan:

Pretty much just been working all week. Worked almost every evening this week too. Last night I was battling a server that was just grumpy. At least it was grumpy on the back end, but not noticeable to the users. As far as they know everything has been fine. Too many warnings and errors started getting thrown in the event logs and one of the services is all screwed up. Decided that service isn't necessary so after mucking with it I just ripped it out instead. Screw it, not worth my time.

Had the lawn mowed by 10. Went to the trailer place to order a winch stand, came home was going to wheel the boat and it started raining. Currently planning out the size of my sub box. Shooting for 3 cubic feet since it'll mainly be used for music.

After a night shift, trying to find the energy to swap the A/C belt tensioner and belt. The barely over 1 year old Dayco tensioner failed (looks like the spring broke). What did I get? another Dayco :dunce:

Got another 55 gallon drum for another cooker project. Bought and installed a bigger ceiling fan in the guest room. Mowed the lawn. Cleaned the showers in both bathrooms...Mum comes in tonight so we've been on a major cleaning spree.

Watching shipping like a hawk for the car parts. Poor truck is getting a bit of waiting time while I get the DD up to my standards.

First day on the new job in the books. My brain is about to explode, from the information overload. Having to learn an entirely new system to do a relatively simple (concept wise) job, is quite draining.

Went to pick-a-parts looking for a turbo for my son's TDI. No joy. He's now looking to buy a new one because used is almost as much.

Timing belt/water pump on a 1.8T jetta. I am not looking forward to this so I'm typing this out to stall myself from going out there LOL.

I don't know what it is about euro/german cars but the more I hate them, the more I get. It reminds me of when the libians found doc brown.

Doc: "Oh my God. They found me. I don't know how, but they found me. RUN FOR IT, MARTY!!"
Marty: "Who? Who?!"
Doc: "Who do you think?! THE VOLKSWAGONS!!!"

Just came back from pick-a-part with a rear hatch lock actuator and stock radio for a friend's daughter ('03 Grand Am). Also picked up a 10x10 gazebo on sale at the pool place. After replacing the actuator, I now I have to put up that gazebo in the blazing sun :drooling:, which is why we needed a gazebo.

Ran conduit down my yard next to the sidewalk in the unfilled trench from the house to the garage so I can get cat5 and other misc low voltage connections down there. 99% done, but my hole saw isn't long enough to drill through both sides of the cinder block, and trying to line it up from the inside could prove difficult. Pondering my next step.

Side note - a regular old cheap hole saw will go through cinder block with a hammer drill, just be careful and throw it away when you're done as it will be trashed lol :rotfl:

Well it sucked but it wasn't that bad. Getting the engine part of the motor mount out of the way was the hardest part. Actually, getting the serp belt back on was the hardest part because I forgot that the tensioners can be pinned in the released position. And by can be I mean supposed to be LOL.

I got hosed by the service information when it came time to remove the timing belt. I found this video and it showed a different way that worked. If you go into the comments you can see that I put some respect on his video. It's a saturday afternoon, I'm in a jam with a car that I don't know that well, and I go to youtube. Some have said that I'm an elitest jackwagon supertech and here is more proof that I am just a regular guy.

Had a good time today. No autographs. Not a big enough fan to wait in a two mile long line.

Grandma and Grandpa going on the zombie shoot. LOL...We should have jumped on just to watch them shoot. Wanted to finish my beer though.
