Working it

Half day of work, then headed home to relax.

Headed to dentist...yippee

Mostly chillaxing after working on Canada Day.

Pretty productive day down here. After truck tinkering, came home and decided to take advantage of the weather cooling off due to the rain that stopped, yet still cloudy skies. Pulled out the ladder and cleaned out the gutters. Not only were they clogged with leaves, as I suspected, but about 1/3 full of roofing material that washed/rubbed off the shingles.

So after clearing as much by hand as I could, doubled back with the hose and washed the gritty material out. Another unexpected surprise, in the clogged up downspouts, ants had built nests. After the first fist full got pulled out, tons of ants were crawling everywhere. Almost fell off the ladder the first time :hahano:

Now, got laundry running, some Shark Week on the DVR, and wondering what I want to stuff my face with later. :undecided:

I too have to clean my gutters alot, have 3 big trees over my home.

Tip for ya @Blckshdw...if you have a gas or electric Leaf Blower, Sears & Home Depot sells a Gutter Cleaning Kit for around $25- $35 that attaches to the Blower and you can clean them from the ground. It comes with enough to do up to a 3 story home. Saves you from having to pull out the ladder and risk getting blown off by high winds.

What i do every spring, is pull out the ladder do them once by hand to get all the sticks and what not. Then once a week when I mow, hit it from the ground with the mentioned kit and they stay good a clean/clear all year. Just a tip for ya!

I'm playing golf for the first time in I don't know how long. :woohoo::wooot:

A quick grocery store run for some last minute items, then off to a friend's house for some pool and grilling action

Finished the electrical on the workbench in my basement so I now have lights and power over the other end of the bench.

Also going to finish the Camaro. Got the last valve springs swapped out so now I just have to put the rockers etc back on, put the plug wires in, reassemble the rest of the engine bay I had undone to get to it all, and it should run again!

Then, if there is time, I'll work on the Silverado's retrofit some more. I'd like to get the innards put together at least. Don't know if I'll be able to aim anything tonight as later I'll be at my brother's place but we'll see. At least I now have a great spot to do all that since my driveway was put in :D

Heck no there's no room to work lol. That's partially why it took me so long to get the job done. Compressing 130lb seat pressure springs by turning the wheel of the compressor 1/4 turn at a time with just fingers while wedged against heater hoses and wire harnesses gets tiring very quick!

Slight change though in today's schedule. I decided since the car was utterly filthy to give it a bath and wax it. Not a perfect job but a heck of a lot better than it was. I don't have a DA polisher or anything so waxing is totally by hand. I'm tired enough now and it is late enough that I don't think I'll get to the Silverado's lights at all, but that's OK. Heading to my brother's in a little bit here for some cookout dinner.

Well Done Sparky!

Today is back to work and on a project I truly do not want to be a part of, but such is life

... on a project I truly do not want to be a part of...

Sounds like my job right now :sigh:

I really thought there would be plenty of work after the long weekend since a lot of our clients work weekends, but not this time.

So I'm skimming through the forum, the twitterverse, and ESPN.com to keep me entertained until lunch time.

Working for the man

At my desk, and struggling. Was working away for about 20 minutes, then felt a tightening sensation on my left shoulder blade. :ugh:

Now I can't reach for, or lift, anything with my left arm without lots of pain. This ibuprofen needs to kick in already, it's gonna be a long day :frown:

Left shoulder...heart attack...go to hospital now!!!!

IIRC, it's pain in the left arm. I have tons of pain in my left shoulder. It's called old age.

Took the day off. Just didn't have it in me today.

Department manager and director are both on vacation, I could probably scam our team leader into letting me leave, but I don't think she can override the time clock system

Ibuprofen is helping, so I'm not miserable, just irritable. No work to do, so I'm on amazon looking for a replacement battery for my phone, hoping that's the source of my charging issue and not the USB port.

Now i realized the Anniversary is Sunday so i am trying to find a mini-vacation trip to do with family. Hard to find something that works with 3 kids....although a hotel stay with a pool would prolly be enough for them ;)

I'm off work. It's technically my Saturday. Woke up way late but I still made it my CrossFit class. Had a terrible workout. Ohh well.

I fired up the crockpot to make this chicken chili recipe I found. Smells good thus far!

Probably should continue cleaning the garage...

In the cube

In between shifts, working tonight. Calling around for stuff for my son's new-to-him, '03 Sierra 1500. Too hot today to do anything else outside.

Oh, I also spent almost a week's pay on parts to fix the Saab. I have to replace the cam, lifters, pushrods, rockers and oil pump due to valvetrain noise.

Last day of vacation.. hanging at the house, gonna take in a movie after lunch, then out to eat w the wife, back home to chill.

In the work arena

Check out a couple of my threads for ideas. The guys here have been really helpful.

I have read most of them, I'm thinking it is my SAI system, I have cleaned the throttle body and changed spark plugs and cam position sensor, I'm thinking it's either the SAI or the crankshaft position sensor, but I have a code for the SAI so ill fix that first

Back to work after vacation. Luckily it's still slow so I can ease back into it.

SAI runs for 30 seconds at startup and does NOTHING after that so likely not your problem.

Day off so first I drove the wife to work checked in with my P.O. Then I came home worked and the truck a bit and gave it a quick wash. Checked the mail and now I'm on the bbq grill cooking up some stuff for this evening as me the wife and a few friends will be out fishing this evening.20160708_140509.jpg

Thinking after all this BS today it will be beer thirty soon!
