I just went out and looked at my overhead console. I never realized there was more than one opening. Two big ones in the center and one that looks like the same size as the Pioneer mic.

Now to research how to open that baby up.

EDIT:

Found this http://gmtnation.com/forums/topic/11627-salon-button-bulb-replacement-tr2004/?hl=%2Boverhead+%2Bconsole#entry294227 but I have a SWB.
They are all the same.. Only difference is wether u have a sunglasses holder or dome/map lights..

If sunglasses holder.. Open up the sunglasses part, and there Will be 2 screws there. And if you have the lights, you have to pop the lenses out and the 2 screws will be in either corner. Once the screws are out, pop the clips at the front of the console and it will come down.

Hosed it down at the car wash, and promptly got it dirty again on my way home since I live out in the country.

Topped off the transfer case. Only used less than 1/4 bottle.

Got annoyed that some of the Herculiner along the passenger rear door edge has come off because I failed at cleaning the metal up properly and the rust came back just enough to loosen it.

Today I changed the oil and filter for the first time. I was glad I had read here how tight fit the filter is or I might have bought a longer one like I do with my other vehicles.
Then I serviced the calipers at all 4 wheels.
Installed my snow tires.
Checked the air filter and belts for first time and tried to remove the battery cover - I did partially but decided not to bother disconnecting the battery today.
Installed new weathertech floor mats.
And lastly I removed the aftermarket tail lights the PO installed and put in some OE appearing ones.

Fun/easy day in the shop.

Spent the afternoon trying to figure out a way to install my WAAG grill guard that is missing the lower brackets. Still no further ahead than when I started.

Sticker bombed it...

We kinda screwed up by making the skyjacker stickers on black. I brain farted and forgot that they were going on the windows. Might re cut those ones from the silver. Also not sure if I like the "lifted" on the bumper or the "Giggity" on the door. If I hate them, I'll just peel 'em off and cut something else.

I thought it looks ok, what do you guys think? Be honest, the stickers cost me nothing so if they look stupid, I can just peel them off and its no loss. Better then being the next contestant on the "worst mods" thread lol.

Changed the transfer case fluid in the tahoe. I think that's the OEM fluid at 110K.

20150118_152113.jpg

The tahoe had some kind of audio system in it at some point. While I was putting in the remote start I ripped out the mess that went from the console to the cargo area.

20150118_153014.jpg

I'm guessing they had to keep crimping til they got it right because all of the wires that were tapped were a couple inches short. All of the crimps failed a pull test. :frown:

20150118_153830.jpg

I just so happened to have some orange, yellow, brown, and black wire.

20150118_154131.jpg

Soldered in some extensions.

20150118_160608.jpg

Bye bye garbage.

20150118_160730.jpg

The console had what I assume to be a hook up for a phone or ipod headphone jack. Not sure what it did since it ran to the back of the truck. :undecided:

20150118_160844.jpg

Siliconed a christmas tree fastener in the hole in the tray.

This is another test for the wife to see if she notices anything different about her "baby". She did notice the rear wiper arm was plastidipped so she might get this one too.

Cleaned it out a bit. Also put the trail bag back on spare. Put the stock crossbars in. Pulled the winch line and wrapped it back up nicely.

Got a replacement lightbar coming. It works perfect but when I finally washed the truck I found a lil crack in it. Figured it was worth asking about a warranty and they said we will send a new one out with a return label for the old one. Great CS thru Amazon.

I wish. If I had money I would own them. Fair price for sure. I put in the Vision ones Sparky sold me 6 months ago. My stock were oxidized inside.

Now a new hub is going on. Been 2 years on my $32 hub so pretty happy.

Removed my hacked looking spark plug non-fouler O2 sensor spacers from behind the cat and reinstalled the sensor in it's rightful place in the exhaust bung. A fix I've been meaning to do ever since I got my tune a couple YEARS ago. :lipsrsealed: Those non-foulers are made of some cheeeeeeap metal, they were rusted so bad they were flaking apart, but at least they didn't leak. Now I don't have to worry about some "super sleuth" inspection tech catching onto my exhaust modding.

Dropped off the parts to my mechanic to finish my Timing Chain and Camshaft Phaser replacement. We were waiting a few days for the parts so they let me take this home and paint it. It should look nice on the vehicle and motivate me to clean the rest of my engine bay.

It is somewhere between red and orange depending on the lighting. I will post pics once it is all back together
