I dont understand...The rain is how mine generally gets washed. :raspberry:

Lol, Our trucks might both be white '06 LS, but you're just a little more trail rated than I am, and mine is NEVER allowed to stay dirty.

Throw some car soap on it then while it rains

Maybe you mentioned it already and I just missed it, but what are you doing about the center vents? Are you going to leave them covered or reroute them somehow?

I dropped the beaSSt off at the dealer again for a knock in the brand new motor!!.. :sadcry:

Sounds identical to a diesel motor now.. so that's definetly not normal.. dealer thinks its a exhaust leak... we shall see, I'll be getting a call tomorrow

I might drill a couple of holes on the arched pieces that flow to the dash to let the air out but really no plans to put any type of vents in.

And what does everyone think... Should I keep it black which matches my overhead console I made and probably going to spray some more pieces black or should I spray it orange like the other dash pieces. I'm afraid that would be too much orange and the orange would reflect off the windshield more also.

I looked at a few different head units online and tired to piece everything that I would need to do the install myself. Just looking for something very simple that I can use to play Pandora or music from my iPhone.

Personally, I couldnt live without my center vents.. I need AC!!!

Look good otherwise, but would need to some how figure out that vent problem.

Never use ac. Dont know if mine even works since rocks massaged the condensor a couple yrs ago.

I like the black if you got other black to tie it in.

Damn, that went horribly wrong. When removing, I managed to loosen one of those heat sink looking things that sit over where the spark plug is. Now the engine knocks, and sounds like a damn diesel engine. Not sure if its from the heat sink thing or resetting the PCM. Thoughts?

*EDIT* I'm starting to wonder if it could be caused by some deep water I got into earlier. I'm not sure since it didn't start until after I cleaned the throttle body and reset the PCM, but I suppose it's a possibility. Once the auto parts store opens for the day I'll have them scan the check engine code and hopefully narrow everything down.

Figured out what the problem was, took to advance auto, they scanners it and said cylinder 4 was misfiring. Had to replace the coil, and now its running perfectly. Picked up some spark plugs while I was there too, so ill change those out soon.

Where I damaged the coil:

Worked from home today, due to a herniated disc in my neck. Was planning to try to clean the truck up Friday before going to the meet, but my wife felt bad that I was laid up, and took the truck in for a complete detail today. All set for the meet now.

Bought a cargo shade off ebay and put it in, didn't notice till I took the pictures that the item is bent a bit in the middle. Doesn't interfere with the mechanism retracting or extending though so that's good. I was hoping someone could tell me which way it's supposed to go, or if it matters at all.

 It looks like you ran into a big wall of clay!! Or someone poured some mud all over your truck and it dried! I sure hope that stuff works. You don't have to drive at night do you?

MDBT - The flat part goes on top like how you have it in the 2nd pic. If you look at the bottom of the shield pulled out, you should see the part number sticker on it.

Got new brake pads and rotors on all around. Thanks to help from Hotness. Got it done before the rain. Gotta help him finish his end links today.

If I have to drive any long distances, I'm determined to to put painters tape all over the bummer and hood. Cheap and easy to remove.

:undecided: Now to figure out how to get everyone to talk Mike into attending out of state meets...
