@smt 59 The passenger side came with the car. The one on the drivers side happened on the first day I bought that beauty. Parked next to a truck, which had a custom cage built on it. And it seemingly hit my car while leaving. The one on the passenger side seems easy to remove, but the other one seems like it'll be a pain. Have no plans to fix any yet, but will be getting the front bumper and passenger front panel repainted. Lots of color fade on these two places
Just playing with ya, I spend to much time in my buddies body shop, your ride looks good and great detailing job.

If I was to repair them the drivers side would be the one I would do, they would annoy me the most due to seeing them every time I got in and out of the truck. The work is easy but both panels would need to be painted which is the expensive part. It all depends on your budget. Quotes are free just to get an idea. Pricing here is about $350.00 per panel for paint.

(over the last few days...finished today...all on the Sierra...)
- new upper BJ (twice, same side)
- new passenger side hub
- new brakes / rotors, all 4 corners; completely flushed fluid
- new rear brake calipers (old ones were rusted to hell)
- new idler arm / pivot bracket (ordered the arm for a 'base' 1500 by accident, & had to wait for the correct one)

Still more work to do, but writing that list down and reviewing it...I'm happy, for now. A trans service, fuel filter, & rear diff service are next up, and then we'll see about hooking her up to the trailer (can't wait.)

Someday, I'll attack the drivers' side front axle seal (it's leaking pretty badly, from what I can see). That will be a fun project (not!). Since I rarely use 4wd, it automatically goes to the back of the priorities list.

Add all of that to the new tires, shocks & battery, and it's starting to look (& drive) like a new truck, mechanically. Last handling piece to put in for now is an intermediate steering shaft, to hopefully get rid of the 'clunk' during certain turning maneuvers.

Was going to create a rant to AC Delco re: having to grind the tabs of one set of the front 'Professional' pads - but since both of the passenger side pads went on relatively smoothly, the issue is likely with my driver-side caliper.
(and yes, I know the pads go on in a particular order - I didn't mix up the inboard / outboard sides, like the previous owner did, thank you very much!)

Just how does one put *both* outboard pads on one wheel, and both *inboard* pads on the other?

Shoulda bought the Silvy...LMAO

At least it is a cheap easy fix. Been there done that.

Depends on where you get the part. If I order them (I'll replace both sides) I can get them from $66 to $100 a pair. If I buy them locally, they're $64 to $100+ a piece.

I'll just keep driving it and get them from Summit next week.

Had quite some work done on the TB today.

Had to replace a blown side marker lamp. Easy peasy.

20180826_115247.jpg

Covered up some of the holes in the projectors which were causing light to bleed through them making it look bad. Will take some night shots later. Aluminum tape solved the issue. Took me about 15 minutes. Have become an expert in removing the grill now, after doing it so many times now. Am thinking if there's a way to partially seal the headlights shop they are easy to open back up. Don't want to go through the process of having to cut them again!! 😅

Finally painted the rest of the wheels, the front ones. Didn't turn out as good as the rear. I ended up painting with my fingers because the marker just gave up. Reminded me of my kindergarten days!! 🤣

Will have to see how to make this one look good. Overall they look good and I'm happy with them 😊

To each their own! I prefer them with the roof rack personally. Gives them a more utilitarian look compared to all these wannabe SUVs (Crossovers). There are many Trailblazers here that have them removed, but they look weird cause they just put the screws back in their original housing and they stick out and look ugly.

EDIT: 4!!!! 4 Trailblazers!!! What do you do with them!! :wowfaint:

I to want to own some more. Please tell me the secret to owning more cars!! 🤣 🤣

Looks sick!!! How much it set you back?
Was like $600 for all the Plastidip, dip sprayer system, and all the stuff to take care of it/clean. I got a ton of reward points on dipyourcar.com, so I can take a ton off the price next time I do this. There's some minor mistakes, but overall i'm happy because it's way more attractive than it was before. I've been waiting like 4 or 5 years to do this.

Look awesome brother! I would love to do something like this to my truck, but sadly we have some really restrictive laws, in the sense that it's a major hurdle to register a change in color of a vehicle. But I think a matte silver would look good as well. Now you've given me another mod bug. As if I didn't have enough already :wooot:

Gonna need some more shots of the fine dip. Maybe update your build thread :rotfl:

If it's Vinyl wrap or Plastidip, those aren't permanent; so therefore no change on vehicle color needs to be documented.
I haven't updated that thing in ages lol, i'll update it at some-point.

Put in a new duralast gold battery. Pretty sure my battery was going bad We’ll see if this fixed it.

Went to the local junkyard. You guys inspired me enough to go search for the northface lights! As expected it was in vain. However found some nice chrome door handles. What are you guy's thoughts on them? I think they would contrast well with my all black interior. Also how hard is it replacing the door handles. Seems like I will have to remove the fuzzy things inside the door panels?! Also any idea what they cost around over there. The guy is asking about 300 SR for them about $ 80!

20180828_121244.jpg

Another thought that popped in my mind is shouldn't an envoy door card be fitted in a trailblazer? Thought it would look unique. 😊

Oh and here's a shot of the projectors output at night after I plugged those holes. Much better! I believe the remaining small dots are due to the reflector housings

A number of us have the chrome handles and shifter button, since I have them on my LS, I thought that was the standard until I went to my first decent sized meet.

You have to back your truck away from the wall... You can't see the true beam pattern from up close. You need to be about 8 meters away. :twocents:

Yeah I was confused as well cause mine has the chrome button on the shifter and handbrake but not the handles!

Thanks for the link can't believe I haven't seen that before 🤔

Oh I wasn't taking the shot for the beam pattern but more for the 'stars' 😅

Installed rear swaybar end links. Fleabay specials at $13.50 and identical to the AC delco professional parts. I ground flats in the shoulders of the bolts so that I can use a 9/16 open end wrench to keep them from spinning instead of the stupid hex key in the end of the bolt.

Just as an FYI, now that I have all new end links, the truck rides much quieter, especially on bumps and rough roads. The small clanking noises made a racket that was there when I got the truck (and I assumed were normal) are all gone. Surprising how much noise 4 worn out ball joints in the 2 rear end links can make.
It now rides like a "Chevrillac"

I've always really wished there was a Cadillac GMT360, and slightly less that there was a Pontiac GMT360. :salivate:

trying to figure out HVAC popping sound, probably blend door. thanks to MSSNN have an idea what to look for. Also, because of all the ash in the air from forest fire smoke around here, drove thru the no-touch car wash last week, 94 Burb finish is so like new wash it at drive thru often with wax and no spot feature, is still shining,, never did that with any other car since started driving in 1962. I could tell you bout my 1965 Chevy Van with 292-TH350 trailer towing combo, but don't see a place where it fits in this forum, had it since 1970, still runs still tows, its a CHEVY!!

Should have ordered a new lock ring. What a bitch of a job. Took about 5 hours. The worst part was trying to put the plug back into the pump, blind with man arms. Tomorrow is the fan clutch and rear upper control arm.

Aaaaand done. Got the new thermo fan clutch installed and now it doesn't soundlike a box truck going down the street. Also got the new control arm in. The bolts came out easy and the only hard part was getting the broken end out but I used a wonder bar and it cooperated.

Wow! Now I see what happens to a northern truck after a few years of road salt.
All I had to do was clean the dirt off and all the hardware looked like new.

After waiting almost a week for a puller so I could install my MOOG "Problem Solver" Struts, my puller arrived from Ebay today. Strut installation did not take too long other than removing the old strut (original factory struts 159K miles most of them in the US Rust Belt area) from the "strut holder". years of rust and after spreading it a LOT I finally separated them. Then a lot of wire brushing and emery cloth cleaning and cleaning.. before I put put the new strut in. That was the most time consuming after I got the puller. Wow.. it rides and handles like new now.. more or less..
