I am ok with the price I paid. I trust the shop and go there all the time for repairs I cannot tackle myself.

As the old saying goes .... happy wife, happy life

Nothing big just got my bowtie decals in from motor city and apllied them to my wheels, flat black with reflective white border. Just a temp fix till I'm able to get my rims powdercoated charcoal grey.

At work, started to rain. Went over to the XUV, rolled up the windows. As I was rolling up the mid-gate window, I hear this real loud BANG!!! Then a crash as the midgate window broke.. :hissyfit::mad:

Oh it gets worse..

Got off work about 30 mins later, went to leave, still a little pissed about the midgate glass, pushed the skinny pedal into the carpet, only to be greeted by another bang as the G80 imploded. :uhno::yikes::wowfaint::badday::tequila:

All I got to say is, my warrenty I bought for my XUV has certainly paid off 500% now..

Still love my Voy... But I wouldnt be saying that if I didnt have a warrenty.. :whiteflag:

well today was wet it rained all day so i went and looked at a new trailer and found one that i want but have to wait for the bank to let me finance i need to work at my new job for at lest 3 months and i have been here for only 2 so got to wait then when i got home i figured well lets put my newly painted home made roof basket on. So I'm lifting it up to the roof and almost got it up when i slipped on the wet rocks in my driveway and all you can hear is a loud screech of the cross bar edge sliding down the truck and wouldn't you know it 2 new scratches and boy are they good and deep DAM i WAS PISSED:hissyfit::hissyfit::hissyfit::hissyfit: so i put some painters tape on them until i get some of that color match paint to fix them.

weeeelllll i put my new wheels on...

View attachment 19973

got them all on then realized i needed to cut the front a bit so the best/quickest way (we had a bad storm come through and got paged out to weather spot ect.) was to take off the rocker panel caps and cut the inner fender, and trim the bumper cover a bit, does anyone have some tips for me on how to clean it up/keep the look of the rocker panels?

bottom pic is the new wheel on front and old on the back

I'm assuming you are planning on some bigger tires or something that necessitates the spare be mounted on the back?

Installed my rear Kicker speakers, will do the front tomorrow when its light out. The place sent DS65's instead of DS650's but they fit fine. Kicker's web site does not list the DS650 so I suspect it has been discontinued. Definitely sound brighter than the stock ones. Its also nice to have the right rear speaker working again. That's been out over a year.

To install I only had to cut off the locator pins on the OEM door adapters. Also the wiring adapter saved a bunch of time. Put the terminals on the speaker tabs and clip to the original GM connector.

Fun to see the cones bounce when I cranked the volume before putting the panels back on. They sound great!

Put LED ribbon underhood, wired to hood pin switch. Also added a rocker switch for daytime, easier than unplugging and looks better than duct taping hood pin down.

Video is more of me playing with switches than actual lighting, was a whiskey or two deep by the time it got dark enough to show brightness.

Yesterday I washed, Clay barred, washed again and polished the truck. Ran out of day light to wax, but this morning it was covered in pollen again so wax will happen next time. I also detailed the inside.

Had that happen once, I think the 22 gallon tank has a 4 gallon reserve when the light kicks on. Driving to FL on 95, light came on and every gas station for 35 miles was either closed or no where to be found. Finally found a WAWA, pump stopped itself at 21.6 gallons. It was late and highway hypnoses was setting in, truck dinged and it was a OH Sh!t moment.

Waiting for the wonderful hubby to get up from his nap so we can try adjusting the headlights again. These HID's have a blinding effect to other drivers if not adjusted.

I guess I had a dumbattack since I thought I had a 17.5 gal tank but realized it's a 18.7. :bonk:

First post, but I just got done flushing the last of my fluids with the help of this forum and it's predecessor. Did the power steering last night at 98k miles, came out a chocolate color and replaced it with prestone from wally world. I really want to express my appreciation for you guys. I've been lurking this and the old forum for a really long time and you guys have guided me in the right direction with regard to all my maintenance. I'll be posting some pictures soon, I just need to upload them to the computer from my iphone. Last couple of weeks I did the rear diff, transmission filter/fluid 6 quarts and installed new pan with a drain on it and flushed and bled the brakes with my 7 year old girl. She was stoked to be in the driver seat pumping the brakes and did a great job. Once again, grateful to this community for your willingness to share and hope to give back in the future..

Last week I put in my Pioneer AVH-4400 double din dvd head unit. Last night and today I finished my front and rear shocks and spring installation. Bilstein HD all around, front TBSS springs and rear Eibach pro springs. I installed the front Smaxx sway bar endlinks. I am waiting on a DJM rear swaybar and that will be installed with the rear Smaxx links.

  1. Seafoam intake cleaner and cleaned the intake.
  2. Seafoam the engine through the brake booster, fuel and oil. (Nice smoke show).
  3. Changed the oil and filter.
  4. Replaced plugs with new AC Delco plugs.
  5. Replace all six Coils with AC Delco.
  6. Cleaned the throttle (it was mad filthy).
  7. Replaced Camshaft solenoid actuator with GM 12615873 (found a new one for $40).
  8. Installed a home made CAI and removed the resonator box.

now im laying flat on the floor tired as a SOB sippin on beer through a straw and laptop on my stomach.

So there's no way in making them work. They work for a min then fuse gets fried.

Yes they can be made to work, but it involves taking the tail light circuit board apart and rewiring it. I need to get some free time when Sparky is also free so he can help me (by help I mean I can hand him tools and beer LOL) do this + quad tails.

Put the front KickerDS65's in and they sound great. Music is much "brighter" now.

Now the proof!

Here it is installed in the front door. I left the OEM tweeter so I wouldn't destroy the mount. Looks like it is either glued or had the plastic melted to hold it in there.
View attachment 20034

The original connector and below it the new one I added. I had to enlarge the hole a bit to pass the speaker tab connectors through.
View attachment 20031

The GM speaker adapter I used.
View attachment 20033

Had to cut the wires to the original speaker and pull them out of the hole they pass through in the mount. It was then a matter of pulling two screws and popping the speaker out.

Did you get them from dayxmas? If so, how long did it take to get to you? I ordered the same ones to use for testing for the boards I'm building for Matt a week and a half ago and I want to get to work!!!!!
