This was last Saturday but I thought I'd share it anyways. My father and I took our cars to the local AcDelco Service center. He had to get a new brake booster on his Denali and I was there for a general oil change, oil filter change, and I should have pained attention to the air filter. It was DONE!! No wonder my CEL was on. Another thing was my steering fluid was sitting on the bottom:deadhorse:. Also had to change the battery as it was finished. The previous owner was all about Korean cars, he even had a Korean battery installed in a Blazer :Banghead:. All in all it was a fun day to see great GM cars being repaired!

Sunday was a new alternator and power lead to it. Not a bad job.
Yesterday was New Bilstein 5125 rear shocks. I dig em. Digressive valving more appropriate for my needs.

Today was my first day commuting while sitting in the donor LTZ's seats, with brand-new shocks too.
It feels like a whole different vehicle now.
I guess I'll have to be careful not to fall asleep, I haven't ever been that comfortable behind the wheel before.

Found the TB's driver front brake was all seizing up on me. Seem to have gotten it broken free, slide pins are OK, caliper seemed to compress reasonably, so maybe it is the hose being sketchy. Either way, the pads (particularly inboard) and the rotor are pretty well shot, weird wear pattern and just shy of the noise tabs. Road worthy again though (for now) so I'm taking it on my trip for work tomorrow.

Well done.

I ordered up a 3 inch dump (had to get it shiny since it will be stuffed up in the framerails where no one can see--plus it was a random ebay find for cheap as aluminized) for the magnaflow so I can finally get it on.

New to GMTNation, just came over from "that other forum". This was one of the first threads I saw so I thought I'd chime in since I've done some very recent upgrades. 184K on the odm. All stock drivetrain. Trans only major repair. Added a rough country 2" level on front, Z71 shocks and springs rear, and some fresh Firestone Destination A/T's. That was Friday. Sunday I was bored so decided to delete the trash can (resonator). Stainless oval tip to complete the can delete will be in tomorrow. Can't wait! Will post pics as soon as my phone stupid being retarded.

My Headlights were soo bad the halogens barely lit up the road. Too lazy to restore them so I went ahead and installed HIDs. Was one of the first things I did after getting my TB

Finally had some time to replace my rusted exhaust tip. The FlowMaster fits perfectly in the bumper cutout. Never had a dual tip before, but I really like the look.

Old exhaust tip.

45* intake couple installed.

Lastly, put in my 3157s with (33) 5730 chips. Much brighter than my 5630s with (22) chips.

I am really considering going with the resonator delete. I want the TB to sound more aggressive kinda like my Dads 05 Yukon Denali. :2thumbsup:

Would the resonator delete be enough or would I have to get a specific tip (Gibson,Flow,Magna) to get a complete feel of the I6. Checking everywhere for this:compu-punch: :book:

Saturday, but first computer time since:

Replaced this rusty crap

With this stuff

I will get a pic of it installed since I forgot, but the difference is amazing. As the exhaust was rotting I did not realize how loud it had become with basically a straight pip setup over the past year or so. With the simple Magnaflow and turndown it sounds nice and clean with much less inside noise. Almost silent to my ears. We cut the old mounting bolts and pulled the rust out. Used a new flange gasket and bolted up new stuff, but to fit right with the dump we shorted it a couple inches and welded it right to the muffler exit. The mount on the magnaflow was for an ext, so I had to chop the part that slid in the rubber hanger off and weld it right to where the dump was attached. Fit right is and is nice and solid. It now dumps a few inches before the rear axle.

Dropped insurance on the Trailblazer. She's done :(

I have the Silverado that I bought last year.

Admired from afar while mother nature washed her.

Took some pics of parts, removed all the tail lights and rear cargo light. Still have more to pull but ran out of time again.

This is such a great site !! Gave me the confidence to tackle so many things. Over the last week I've done the strut assemblies, upper ball joints, tie rod ends, sway bar links, sway bar bushings, rear shocks, spark plugs, throttle body clean, transfer case fluid change and painted a couple of rusty items under the hood. Some of this stuff was WAY overdue,, shamefully ! Got the rest of the fluids to change as soon as i get time. just ordered rear sway bar links and trans filter from Rockauto. ... I didn't even realize I had rear sway bar links until I started cruising this site. Learning so much from you guys,, thanks. I'll becoming a supporter !

A day long project to restore the paint finish and also cleaned up the engine bay.20160429_182447.jpg 20160429_182502.jpg

It was nice and cloudy all day so it help alot. I did a wax remover washing liguid followed by some light compound cleaner with the D.A then the eagle clay bar mit then a little polish also with the D.A. Finally 2 coats of meguiars ultimate wax. The paint is so Fresh looking and feeling I'm completely amazed so is the wife.

I cleaned the engine bay with just a standard engine bay degreaser and followed by a detailer turned out pretty nice aswell.

Very nice X wanna come do mine before it gets too hot? LOL

Yanked the stock heather core to driver's side block hose/pipe assembly out of my TB and replaced it with a hose. The second half was so much easier!

Well, I did it. Got rid of Sirius and installed an iSimple Tranzit hardwired FM modulator so I can play mp3's off my phone. It was a simple install, the hardest thing was removing all the dash trim.

I'll run this until I have the bones for a nice Kenwood touchscreen DVD player.
