Tested my electrical system for a parasitic drain a couple hours after getting home from work. Garage was warm, so I opened the door to let some air in. Saw this guy chillin a few houses down. I sometimes see him and a couple others in my front yard (I'm right by the water) or in the pond nearby. By the time I got the battery cable off, and fiddled with my meter, I look up and he's at the bottom of the driveway, eyeballin me. Look back a few seconds later and he's walking right up to me. I guess maybe other people feed him, and he thought he was getting a free dinner?

Usually if he is in the street when I'm driving, he doesn't move out of the way much, if at all, and I have to squeeze around him. I guess he must own the place  Before leaving, he took a nice waterlogged dump in the middle of my driveway, and then moseyed across the street to forage for food in the neighbor's flowers.

Edit: Oops, forgot the whole point of the post... Ended up only having an 11mA draw, so it's definitely a bad battery. Will be getting a new one sometime this week after work.

Did you put super in there and is yours a tbss? I jus filled up at mobile for $60 @20 gallons 87 octane.
Reg 87 octane. No on the SS. 06 Envoy (swb) SLT 4.2 L. I understand asking about super because of the price but why asking if it is a SS?

$3.22/gal...you guy's pay a HIGH price for living in sunny Cali!
Yes, yes we do. We have a unique blend/distillation process. We get screwed. If there is a shortage we cannot import it from Nevada, Arizona, Oregon, etc. We also have different blends between winter and summer. During the switch the prices skyrocket.

The reason for asking if its an SS is because my brother-in-laws has one with the 6.0 and a few friends as well and they run with the higher octane.

I was wondering because I've had a few people ask me about the number of gallons. I've seen on the forums people claiming either 18 or 20, and documentation says 22 with the long wheelbase models having 25 gallons. This is a short wheelbase but I have put in more than 22 gallons pretty regularly. This fill up was only one third of a gallon shy of 22 gallons.

Do we have a reserve capacity other than the fuel filler neck (which I assume holds about 1 1/2 to 2 gallons)?

Capacity is 22 gallons for 03+ short wheel base's. 02 and older have a capacity of 18.7 gallons You running it down to E? Learned my lesson about cramming the tank full after the pump shuts off. Filled up then the vehicle sat for a few days with temperatures in the 90's and the EVAP purge solenoid on the tank quit working. Only rounding up to the next dollar now.

Me too. I try not to run it to E but there are busy times and I try to only fill it at Costco. They run between 30 and 70 cents / gal less than other local.

My '03 is only 18.7 gal. The 22 gal. wasn't available when I ordered it.

You're not Robinson Caruso with the blends.

I installed LED panels in my dome lights of the Silverado today. Also disabled the DRLs on it which was stupid easy, just pull the two fuses labeled "DRL" in the box and whamo done! Nice. But while doing that I noticed the inside of the box around the fuses is pretty cruddy looking. When pulling the DRL fuses I noticed the contacts on them were crusty with this whitish crap on them. Uh oh, what's all that about? Pulled a few other fuses and some were fine, others had crust on them.

Everything has been working fine on the truck as far as I can tell but after finding this I'm tempted to disconnect the battery, yank all the fuses, and spray down all the contacts with a contact cleaner to clear up the crud. Not sure what it is or why it is there, but it bothers me.

Decided to drive the TB to work today after it sat last week. It wasn't acting too terribly happy. I mean, it ran fine, but the SES light came on right away (fan clutch under speed error again), the 4x4 switch just blinked and blinked before doing nothing at all so it is stuck in 2WD for now, and it just felt a little loose driving down the road. Hm.

I'll tinker with the 4WD but if it isn't reliable I can't really expect to use it this winter, and I'm not going to put money into it. Thinking more seriously about just parting it out this fall (or selling as a whole if someone wanted the whole thing).

I like your lights...

My light mounts I ordered are for roof rack and different type for front bumper.

What I actually did today to mine is simple...started a list of the mods on-hand that will be installed once this dang basement remodel is done. Time for the rig to get back up to snuff.

Finally got around to getting the recalled DS door switch replaced, the last time they installed a membrane over it, guess that didn't work.Only took about half an hour.
Now the wifes Equinox has to go in for DS seat pin recall :hissyfit: Mike.

Hadn't been started in 9 days so I started it up and drove it a few miles. Slightly slow crank compared to normal (understandable, I've been in and out of it a few times and locked it a dozen times so battery wasn't topped off anymore) and fan was 100% on for about a minute while idling. I know the fluid settles out and all and it takes a second to disengage after starting but it hadn't done it that bad before lol.

Picked up upper and lower rad hoses today, will instal on Tuesday. I hope Dayco is a good name as the dealer can't get for 5 days and I want them now to get ready for a road trip to Sudbury Ontario. Just a preventive measure.

I couldn't tell you their current quality, but they were top of the line at one point. Working in two full service stations growing up we had Dayco belts, hoses, wiper blades, and a few other parts. I remember replacing a hose on my Mom's 76 LeMans with less than 50K on it. I think it went about 150K miles and I never replaced that hose. My Dad swore by them as well.

Dayco always was a good brand, hoping someone didn't buy the name and moved manufacturing offshore.

Can hear Stompin' Tom's, "Sudbury Saturday Night" going through my head.
