Installed the hands free mic that came with the prs headunit. I paired my galaxy to the prs and gave it a try. Have to say that I was surprised. I don't usually embrace new technology like this but this is cool.

Also mounted the alarm warning light up higher in the dash.

It took 12 tries to get this pic lol

I test fired my LED glove box mod - WOW! For power I'm just going to do switched 12v instead of RAP (which was originally planned).

What originally started as project de-orange escalated into an unplanned mini makeover.

Yeah another thing we didn't get that the 02s got.

I don't know why GM thought we didn't need a light in the glove compartment...

:undecided: Hmm, I might do this mod just for kicks. Got some spare tilt switches, so just need a power source and maybe use a mosfet instead of a relay this time around.

Nice.

I went the low tech route. Remember when I asked you about those 194 "blanks"? I put one of those blanks in the OEM light switch (where the 194 would go) and that is wired to the LED strip.

Went "off road" - exploring some single lane back road( really just a trail ) routes that connect a bunch of back woods farm fields. It was below freezing today so the ground was pretty solid but I could see it getting very muddy in the spring.

I have a friend who wants to trade in his new Truck so he can get something he can use and abuse a little. Think I'll take him in the TB for a little off road adventure next weekend - get some mud and snow on the tires- so he knows what he's been missing! Nothing serious just some dirt road / farm road / woodlot road type trails that aren't really roads but just require you to pay attention to the mud holes and dead falls.

Should be fun.

I have some tinkering to do this week since I'm off, oil change as soon as Triz gets me the goods, and pull my driver's seat, since I dropped one of the mail keys down by the seat belt latch, and can't find it  so I might have a look under there and see what there is to work with. I have the small pieces I trimmed from the underhood lighting, so those would be good for the glove box. I'll have to check and see what the current draw is on those scrap strips, if it's low enough I'll run them through the switch directly.

Used it to move some jetskis around the yard, Started loading up the winter gear, winch, battery booster, tow straps, jumper cables, etc...
I need to install my telephone pole avoidance system so the truck isn't off the road another 10 months.

Today I'm coming up with a plan for the puddle lights that are part of the txblazer inserts. I want them to come on only when the truck is off and the doors are unlocked. I think I can get away with wiring a relay at the bcm and running a lead up to each door.

Wouldn't you want the puddle lights to come on with the perimeter lighting? This way if you unlock the door remotely you can see if there's a puddle before stepping into it or opening the door. Just a thought.

I have been giving a lot of thought towards doing the footwell and glove box lights to my '08....wonder how much of a task that may turn out to be lol

Yah but I lost perimeter a long time ago. In fact it was so long I forget which lighting mod killed it lol. You do have me thinking though...this means that the puddles will be the only things that light up on the outside. The gears are turning.

Probably not too bad. I took pics of the glove box mod including power/ground and will do the same for the footwells.

I was spinning my wheels about your setup for a bit, but couldn't come up with anything since I don't know how you lost your perimeter lighting either. Was gonna say tap into the reverse light signal, run it through a NC relay or mosfet, that is tied to the ignition, so when you turn the key that circuit opens. But if they don't fire when you unlock the truck, that won't work.

As for me, changed the oil and filter this morning, and installed a Fumoto quick valve. So sometime next year, I'll see just how long it takes to drain the pan with the smaller passageway. Can't close that access door, and can't seem to get it off completely either. That's annoying. Anyone know how to get that thing off?

Betcha it was disabling auto headlights with the resistor at the light sensor? That disabled my perimeter lighting when I did that to mine. Rather lose the perimeter lighting than have the lights kick on every time I'm under a bridge for a few seconds.

On my '03 it was just a plastic post. I pushed the door down a little too far and the post broke off.

My 04 EXT has to flathead screws, they turn left about half a turn then the small access door falls out. Maybe yours needs some persuasion.

Thanks for thinking about it. I did some research on all of the changes through the years (counted 6) and I think Sparky is correct, the autolight delete is what made the reverse lights stop working in perimeter mode.

I really should make a thread about this but first I need a little more time with the diagrams just in case I'm being unrealistic with what I want. :undecided:

I think you called it boss. Since you did it too, do your overhead lights still come on when you unlock with remote? Mine do.

Yep overheads still come on. That isn't daylight sensor dependent.

Mine has both of those. The plastic post is what's holding it in place. And there's not enough clearance to get the 2 screws to re-engage. Guess I need to jack the front end up higher, so I can get more leverage on it so I can get that thing off.

Nothing LED related is unrealistic, come on son!! :deal:

But yeah, the dome lights sound like a good starting point.

Played with 6-hi mod for about twenty minutes and got it to work finally, gotta clean up my diode chain and put it in semi-permanently. Also drove it about 1.6 miles by going to my brothers house and back for Thanksgiving.

Rear fuse box, spare wire, butt connectors, and diodes is the easiest route. Huge improvement over just hi beams at night

Passenger side Cree headlight failed the other day. Received two new Cree boards from Kevin and soldered them in place. Found out only one of the two boards he sent actually works

Waiting on the second new Cree board the arrive

It's easier for me to go the front fuse box route. No fiddling with those plugs. Idk why my 85 pin on high beam relay didn't work. Gonna finish that up today and maybe do a write-up since the last one for it lost its' pictures.
