For a quick inspection i just drive my front wheels up on a curb. It should give you plenty of space to look underneath quickly
I can't do that unless I remove the bumper, my rig sits too low lol

For what I'm doing amber/red turns and the whites for puddle lights.

When Chris told me about these I was so excited that I forgot I lost perimeter lighting a few mods ago. :lipsrsealed:

About those clear corners - after all I learned about switchbacks I found out first hand that I can't legally have white running lights no ifs ands or buts so have to go amber. :badday:
That makes no sense since so many cars come with white running lights from the factory!

That's exactly what I said. This is the same state that failed me for white tag lights.

BlazingTrails said:
That why I didn't get switchbacks with white/amber on the front.
Yup not worth the hassle. My neighbor had the amber coatings flake off of his front markers and got pulled over. He got a warning which is cool and all but who has time for that.

Yup but on the bright side I'll still have cooler looking lights.

Indiana legally says amber running lights but not enforced....but what has factory whites? Many are white/clear but light up amber/yellow. I don't know of any white.

I do know that white is not allowed on rear half of vehicle and red is not allowed on front.

Brand new GM's for an example. Got switchbacks.. white LED running lights, change to orange for flashers/turn signal.

I'm running front white parks and flashers...but my front flashers don't work with the headlights off because of my DRL killer. Haven't had an issue yet.

Do all of those cars have white running lights on the sides or is it simply white lights faced forward? I know most states, and I think the feds, all say white only in the direction of movement and red only to the back. That's how you have white back up lights.

For those doing mods just a small request/reminder: please take pics as you're doing it and a little right up. And thank you Blckshdw for the write up on the under hood lights.

Quitting, very bad. :nono:

Changing game plans, not so bad

I know cutting that interior section took the most work and patience for me, getting through the clear lens was much harder than getting through the main housing. Baking the aftermarkets is much easier though, wish I woulda known that back then.

Well I received my North Face Edition Roof Racks in the mail today. I still cant find any North Face Lenses, but I did get the hook up for normal roof rack covers from Blckshdw. It actually doesn't look too bad. I did have to remove a piece of molding off of the roof of my 9-7. If you look at the roof rack picture, it was a piece of molding to where the roof rack piece "dips down. Enjoy!

The alternator talk reminds me of when mine went out. For 2 days prior I noticed the headlights dim funny while accelerating. Then at night on a 2 lane road in BFE at 1am while taking my sister back home for work at 6am (she came home for my graduation) the alternator quit. Thank you cell phones is all I can say.

Yup the center section was what got me. While I was spending some quality time with the headlight I noticed that the lens wasn't in the greatest condition.

I ran across a post of yours where you talked about how much easier the eagles were to get apart. Already had them in my watch list on ebay just in case things went wrong.

I used the Eagles for my retrofit. My driver side OEM was pretty yellowed but even if it was fine I wasn't about to try cutting the darn things open!

Swapped out the interior LEDs for brighter ones. Old on the left, new on the right.

20141121_170804.jpg

The result made it well worth it. .

20141121_160314.jpg

Also redid the hidden antenna mod. It used to run along windshield the inside of the cowl. Went to fire up some christmas music and boom no reception. I rarely use the radio so I thought the cable was broken but it had continuity. I went behind the fender this time and now we're walking in a winter wonderland like a boss. Since I had the quarter off I tweaked it so the pass door wouldn't rub anymore.

Noticed my one license plate LED is dim/flickers in the cold until it warms up a bit. Great, so I wonder if I can get those screws back out again...
