Honestly, I've never tried it either and I dont have a 2nd set of wheels lol. When my father stores his '68 Firebird and his Motorcycle, he never puts them on jack stands, but does put like a piece of carpet, rug, or cardboard under each tire.
When I stored my vehicles, I was told to (and always did) put about 6 layers (less for the motorcycles) of carpet under each wheel. I lived in New England, so preventing cold from the cement to the rubber was another concern. Full tank with stabilizer, remove the battery onto a piece of pallet, moisture control elements, and seal off the interior from pests.

I miss those cars.

Well got pulled over very early this morning on my way home from work for my drivers side tail light being out, although the brake and turn signal still worked. I also noticed the license plate lights were out. So I check fuse #14 under the rear seat and it is blown. Put a new fuse in, turned on the parking lights and the new fuse blew.

I swapped in my stock tail lights, replaced the fuse, turned on the parking lights and fuse 14 blew for a third time. I moved to the license plate lights and noticed one has an electrical burn type smell. I pulled both license plate LEDs out of the socket, replaced fuse #14 again, and turned on the parkings lights. Bingo, stockers work. I plug in the LED tails and they work too.

A warning ticket, three blown fuses, and a new LED over the license plate later, everything is all good.

Sounds like one of his LP LEDs went bad and shorted out causing the fuse to blow. Glad it was something simple, and you didn't have to start back tracing wiring.

Thats correct. License plate LED on passenger side shorted out and had an electrical burn smell. As soon as I pulled the LED out of the socket, replaced the fuse, everything functioned as normal.

Filled it with gas - 22.63 gallons - and checked the oil level - all good there.

I know there is the filler tube, etc but I thought these things had 22 gallon tanks. Anyone with different info?

Was it running when you filled it? Years ago I traded for a 1958 Oldsmobile 98 with the J2 option which had 3 2 barrel carburetors. My dad borrowed it while his was getting fixed, went to put gas in it and he told me he had to shut it off to gain on it.

My 68 Mustang was like that. It got about 15 or so MPG, but I think I had an 850 carb on it and it just poured gas into the motor. So much smell of unburned fuel when it idled.

Tracked down a short in the wiring for the off road lights...turned out the wire I ran from the left headlight had worked it's way between the battery and it's tray then wore through. So my rigids kept flicking on and off tonight due to this.

Received my 9005 Crees from Kevin (DFWWIZ) Thursday. $80 for the pair is not a bad price for 3600 lumen and the quality. I have seen others that were double the price and 1600 less lumens.

After receiving instruction, clocking the Crees to the 3 and 9 o'clock position was pretty simple. Just have to loosen the post which allows the locking tabs to rotate.

Here is a pic of my projectors in hi beam mode before the Crees were installed.

Heres a far away pic and a closeup.

I have to say I am impressed with the 3600 lumen Crees. I went for a quick drive and these things are bright. With the 6hi mod, I have no issues seeing the road at night. My projectors in hi beam mode do a great job, but the Crees provide extra light in areas that my projectors did not. Best part is that they are instant on, zero warm up time so they are the perfect option for hi beams over HIDs.

What'd the advantage of having them turned that way?
It appears to be the beam pattern to me. Light is reflected and directed better with the Crees at 3 and 9 o'clock.

I did try the Crees at different positions, 6 and 12, 1 and 7, 4 and 10 o'clock, but the output seemed to be the best at 3 and 9 o'clock position.

I washed it in the rain so I could get a free-rinse from the thunder-storm that is approaching :weird:

I wish a member on here had a lux meter, so they could see if Kevin's Crees are truly 3600 lumen or just inflated numbers as many other sellers throw out there to increase sales. I'd be interested to know exactly what they are really putting out.

I have a lux meter, but lux meters don't measure lumens. With a lot of extra work you can get a ballpark number that may or may not be accurate +100%/-50%

what you want is called an integrating sphere... here is a link to some LOW END equipment http://www.shopstellarnet.com/led-measurement-system/

On a side note, i you just want to know what "color" an LED is.. http://www.instrumentsystems.com/fileadmin/editors/downloads/Products/LED_Handbook_e.pdf

My mistake, but yeah would be nice to know if they work as advertised, or are a bit overhyped as a lot of similar products on the market appear to be, especially given the number of issues members on just this forum have seen during ownership.
