Replaced the 2.5 year old walmart battery with an Advance Auto Platinum AGM, purchased online with discounts and picked up in store.

Man that would make a good article. I've got a faint dry squeegee sound in mine too. It's not at the annoy stage yet, but it's there.
Thanks

Give it a go, it's really simple. It did help my problem. I've read other posts with similar problems and if this helps anyone, then great.

Yeah I've got a battery replacement in the works. I'd like to go with another AGM, too. Don't know about every store but the one around here says pretty much you can pick it up within about 30 minutes of ordering online, they must have a warehouse around somewhere that I didn't know about.

Yellow piece comes with the 475 kit. The black piece is a 1 inch spacer that cost 40 for the rear. Tony calls it the 515 kit.

I ordered it on 31st, so I would get the 150 rebate (cut close).

Rear brake pads... with pics! Just for you Kyle :rotfl:

P080914_1422.jpg

Getting into the system.

P080914_142201.jpg

The pads had plenty of material; however they had a feeling sort of like being glazed, and this one (can't see too well) had the pad material starting to separate from the backplate.

P080914_1508.jpg

My method for holding up the calipers. That is a 4" C-Clamp. I had already set the caliper up in such a way where the hose isn't what's holding it up; this is just to keep it securely in that position.

Cleaning the rust up off the shims.

P080914_152201.jpg

Applying brake grease to the back of the new pads. I went with Wagner Thermoquiet Ceramic. It was either this particular Wagner, or a WearEver unit, and I'd rather put some extra money in and be sure it's not a complete turd.

P080914_1522.jpg

Applying brake grease to the shims. The stuff I'm using there can be had at Advance Auto for a few dollars, I'm assuming any of the other major auto chain stores also carry it or something like it. It can also be used for the slide pins, which is important.

P080914_1518.jpg

Checking the slide pin boots for wear. All four in the back were in good shape, solid seal and no tears. As they are pulled out, notice how the side distend inward like a vacuum is being formed. Hold it in this position for a moment and see if it still holds that shape just to be sure.

P080914_151801.jpg

Popping the seal and checking inside anyway. Plenty of grease still, but will monitor and likely clean out the old stuff and put in some new stuff soon. To remove the seal, just hold onto it and pull it off. Comes right off, and snaps back on when you're done. Be sure to clean the area around it first to mitigate the chance for dust entry.

P080914_1538.jpg

My method for backing the pistons up into the cylinders. I have one of the old brake pads in place on the piston side. Note that I have the side that you turn against that brake pad, this is in case the swivel on the head doesn't turn very well, I'd rather have it grinding against something I'm throwing away anyway rather than against that bolt on the back where the other end is. I used a Pittsburgh 6" clamp for this, worked satisfactorily, likely because this isn't a high-stress application. Take it slow, as you'll need to check your brake fluid level after ever 1/2-1 turn of the clamp, and so you don't put too much stress on the components at once.

P080914_150901.jpg

Brake hose while caliper is suspended. It is very important to have two key things you can see in this picture. 1 - There is slack in the hose, it is not being pulled on, and 2 - No sharp turns. It has a bit of a loop on the caliper side there, but it's not extreme, and it's definitely not trying to make the 2 sides of the hose touch.
