What your looking at is my reverse light socket. What you don't see is a bulb in it! Yep it laying crossways in the bottom! I guess my last trip through the timber, hills and over the log pile popped it out!
That looks like it'll be a mission to get out

I cleaned her up today. Complete inside detail (vacuum, cleaning dashboard and side panels, shampooing some spots on the tan seats) and washed the exterior and manual wax and buff....right before it rained *facepalm*. Still looks clean though! I even had to take the front bug/rock deflector off since so much crap had built up in there and was molded over the paint lol....the drive thru car washes don't get the cotton woods and maple tree seeds out of there well.

This week I will be doing all four brakes and rotors and front wheel hubs....it's really awkward when you go to check the wear line indicator on your brake pads and the line is totally gone....never have done it the past three years (20,000 miles) I've had it.

Kyle it's really good in town (where the stations are) and decent in the moderately dense wooded areas around me.

I also finally got this finished yesterday too.

It's good enough for what I want and I'm happy with it.
How did you mount the box?

yeah, got close to 20mpg on a 200 mile trip to Chicago and back. no codes other than the one from switching the fan clutch.
(before the suspension lift and bigger tires)

Industrial strength Velcro for now. I'm thinking up another way in case that fails. The box and sub aren't really that heavy and actually sit up on their own. It's going around corners that make it move without being secured.

Drove the Silverado to Carlisle Truck Nationals and back yesterday. Strange to go that far and not have the camper behind it.

^Worthwhile job there, I have done that for a few people now.

Did this yesterday, this is the only real issue I have. I have no idea how the bed was this banged up but yet the exterior is a solid 7/10. I didn't do the 3 recommended coats this is just the one I plan on doing another, But I pulled into Pittsburgh,KS this afternoon for another month straight of work. No SS or truck for a whole month already getting the itches.

Dropped it off for warranty work. Sounds like a valve sticking and it's also whining like a bad ps pump. Checked the fluid on the pump; all was ok. This is the 2nd time an internal issue has come up, and not thrilled.

Few questions or I can post elsewhere:
  • What are you folks going through for oil between changes? I can see 1 or 1.5 quarts, but more, to me, seems excessive.
  • Anyone else have a problem with bad valves or anything similar? I'm not sure - I'm not a mechanic. It's already in the shop, but it rattled pretty bad when it started, then it would continue but get a lot louder if I had to push the pedal at all. And of course, it raised or dropped with the RPM. This is the second time for me, and just over 5200 miles since the last one.
Thanks

Got the rear bumper back on, kicked the lower control arms out some since the front end looked horribly bow legged. Helped a little but I made the toe out worse. oh well, it's just going a couple miles to get aligned anyway.

Checked all the tires and tried to air up 2, they won't hold air. I can hear both hissing and bubbling around the bead. the bead on both is pretty fucked up. So, 10:30 at night I swap out the one leaking the worst and start to head out. Trying to go straight out the driveway, the truck is all over the place. Doesn't feel safe, not sure what's wrong with it. Oh well, last straw was rubbing on the front wheel well with the tires when I turned. not a hard fix, just couldn't deal with it tonight.

And I think my front diff might be leaking some place

Did you sand the bed? Looks really smooth and glossy. I've used several different bed liners and none were that smooth.
Nope no sanding its Rustoleom Brand its a very minimum coat im betting once I do 2 and 3 I will get that traditional rough texture, once dried it had a texture but pretty minimal. I only used MAYBE 1/4 of that can so that will kind of tell the story but when I get back im going to get back on it because I want the rough texture.

Screws usually work. Pick the appropriate size and ensure there's nothing behind what you're about to drill into. I can't recall the specific type of screw we use at work but it holds to PVC well and there's nothing special about them, just plain old stainless steel screws of various shapes, heads and lengths from what I can tell. If you ever decide to remove it, you'll of course have the hole(s) there unless you go all-out and get some of those button-style plastic covers that just snap over holes and paint them appropriately or something.

Depends a lot on your interval. Do you go by the %, or by a mileage? The official GM number is 1 quart every 3000 miles/kilometers (I can't remember which, but I'd rather go by miles, since that many km is not very many miles at all!) is acceptable. So if you've gone 7500, 1 quart is perfectly within spec, though not exactly the not-one-drop wonder-car some lucky folks around here have.
