First commute with the 87 octane tune. Only noticeable difference so far, is that it idles smoother. Due to rush hour traffic, couldn't really get heavy footed with the skinny pedal. But on the way home, there are a couple of straight stretches of road that usually have little to no traffic. So I can pull over, let traffic ahead of me clear, and then see how well it pulls. Only have about a quarter tank of 93 left, so I'll be back on regular by midweek.

What kind of tune are you working on?

Jimmy has HPTuners, so I paid him for 2 credits ($100) and we downloaded my stock tune. Emailed the file to PCMofNC and they custom tuned it based off the options I selected on their order sheet. ($125). The reflash only costs $50. Huge improvement in driveablility, definitely best bang for your buck, performance-wise.

I think I'll have to see it to believe it (rather, fully understand it). Excitedly awaiting the next mini-meet.

I've downloaded the trial version of HPTuners, and tried looking at all the stuff that's in there. Most of it flies over my head. A couple of the sections that I sort of know what they are dealing with, the actual values and stuff don't seem very intuitive.

The drive home today was good. Averaged 17.4 on the scanguage, and that's with a pair of WOT runs. Best I got with the 93 octane tune was 18.3. Truck still pulls hard as hell when I ask it to, and couldn't notice anything different from the previous tune. I should probably wait another tankful or so, but I'm gonna say getting tuned for higher than 87 ain't worth the money, at least for LWB trucks.

The truck has been idling a bit funny/rough lately and I've been feeling it a bit in the steering. Figured it is that PS pump, or maybe the motor mounts again. But then I was reading about the CPAS again and got to wondering. I have never really checked it, and the truck has 199k on it, but it had been seeming to work fine, no codes, etc.

LOL the thing is all crusty with gunk on the outside from some oil oozing out of it and dirt sticking to it  :duh:

Going to replace the thing. Probably will swap out the PS pump while I'm at it since the pump is grouchy anyway and I have another one here.

Wonder if that could be why the truck has still seemed down on power at times until the RPMs really climb up there :undecided:

Jared, now every time I walk past the front of my TB, I notice the LED strips are recessed. I hate you for that!

I got a good chunk of the stuff that I need for the '14 refresher upper project for the TB.

Cargo light housing/lens- check (bass broke mine)
Cargo cover latch - check (I broke it)
Liftgate weatherstrip - check (ripped during 18" woofers big box install)
Rear seatbelt trim pieces - check (I broke the flimsy flap thingys)
Seat cushion - check (drivers seat needs a lot of work so it's getting a newer cushion too)
Connector for lumbar control switch - check (New seat bezel for drivers seat had the smaller switch)
License plate light covers - check (mine are super cloudy)
Rear seat trim pieces - check (mine were modded for under seat amps that I don't have anymore)
Tail light clips where the lenses clip into - check (bass oblonged mine)
Front fuse box cover - check (revamping for new fuse holders)
Weatherstrip that goes between f/r doors - check (mine never came with drivers side)
Cig lighters - check (one broke during removal way back)

I'm super cider now. Just gotta few more things to get and it's on! :wooot:

Ordered BrakeMotive rotors and pads. Also order Hankook Ventus RH06 tires, 265/50.
You'll love the BM brakes. I've had them on my DD Grand Prix for over a week now and they don't make a single sound (I used brake lubricant as well on my pads and all points of contact) and they perform alot better over stock parts. Just with using half the pedal I feel them grabbing already and slowing me down.

Tracked down the cause of my dome light fuse popping. Ended up being that same 3rd row light that gave me issues before. Not sure what changed in the last few months, but I think I need to rework the base, and pack a little silicone in there to keep the pins insulated and separate.

The front park/turn issue is gonna take a while longer. I tried putting stock 194s in the corners (previously empty since the retrofit) and that was a hot mess. Both front turns stayed solid, left turn signal in the cluster was solid when the parking lights were on. Put some 194 LEDs I had laying around in there, and things seemed to behave normally. The true test will be to see what happens first thing in the morning when I head to work, since cool weather cold starts in the dark is when it acts up.

Drove it. I'm feeling slight vibrations while vibrating. So quick and stupid question. Do rotors come in pairs?

It's best to replace brake parts in pairs so you don't have uneven braking power or components on each side.

Drove home yesterday, average gas mileage on the highway with the truck was 21 MPG. Stopped by a truck stop and hit the scales, total weight was 7224lbs, with 3/4 tank of gas and 4 people, and the bed full of stuff. Also took a ride on the Roaring Forks Motor trail, I will add a few pics when I upload them. That was pretty awesome, its a paved trail around a mountain, we started at 1600' elevation, and ended up around 3200-3300'. The trail was narrow in a few spots, but had some awesome features and amazing views.

Today I am going to attempt to clean the truck, its going to take me a week to get the bugs off.

Was that per DIC or math at the pump? I'm very impressed, would love to know your secret. I'm pretty light footed myself, got my Cruze up to 53mpg.

Hand calc. DIC says 15.4 avg right now, when we started it was at 13.9. Heading down I averaged about 18-19 mpg per tank. Heading back the first tank I did was 21mpg, second was 22mpg as per the wife driving, and the last tank with me was 20.5.

Mileage til empty at one point was 635 miles after a fill up.
