You seem to respond to every post without doing anything to your GMT. I thought that was what this thread was for.

The world really is small. I work at Lochmandy so if you see a lifted black TB or a car with a dealer plate ripping up the John Weaver, give a friendly wave.

Look up the Billstein HD front strut numbers. Going to get them done sooner rather than later.

Just got gas and rolled 133800. Also, realized my rear cargo carpet and mat are in way better shape than others. Thanks to the previous owner of my vw in college for the rubber mat in the trunk
TB has 7years of always starting and getting me where I want to go.

Mark20: I was disappointed with myself for putting the HDs off. Well worth every cent.

Had a weird noise from the rear end, sounded like it was clunking.

Pushed up and down on rear bumper, noise was coming from the shocks, pulled them off and the passenger side is done.

Ordered some rancho rear shocks from rockauto, RS5000 series, RS5387 if anybody wants to know

Hopefully they are of quality.

Painted the calipers and rotors. Also removed plast dip from the wheels. What a pain in the a$$.

After some research online, I found that WD-40 works great to break down the plasti dip. You can use a towel to wipe it off or I used my 2700psi pressure washer and had it off in no time.

Beginning a list of things to do for a 200K service. Starting with pulling the valve cover in hopes to find that pesky lash adjuster that is ticking.

With JimmyJam's assistance, flashed my 87 Octane tune. Now my dome lights and scuff plate lights aren't working. Fuse was blown. Put in a new one, lights came on dimly for about 5 seconds, and then the fuse blew again. It's been raining off and on all day, so gonna wait until tomorrow to start investigating the problem there.

Given I don't have the service history of my Saab I figured I'd do the things I know it needs!
Fluid change galore!
Engine Oil / Filter
Transfer Case
Both Diffs
80k ... I know it's early for the diffs but wanted to check them over anyway, so do it all at ounce.
Tcase looked good, lots of blue fluid, fully capable of pulling itself off stands.
Fingers crossed I get years of service out of it now!

Gmtnation has been keeping me very occupied! Thank guys for keeping these games interesting and updating these threads of knowledge

I'm a noob to a lot under the hood other than basic maintenance.... But thanks to GMTN and ORTB i have a plan of action to conquer that lack
of education..... If i post in this topic or anywhere else and you guys see a red flag feel free to chime in or msg me with advice, because i enjoy a good learning experience!

Soooo I plan on changing my spark plugs, and the other day i went to see what was in there and it was not a pleasure digging the plugs out of a pile of dirt. So I decided to steam clean the motor.... And since I'm going to do my T-Case and differentials soon, I got the undercarriage done too....

Finally got around to changing the front differential and transfer case today. Did the rear differential, transmission filter/fluid, and coolant previously. Only have the brake and power steering fluids left and they will all be changed.

Fluids appeared to be in good shape and had been serviced before. Sucks not knowing the maintenance history when you buy a vehicle used. When i was figuring out the correct sized wrench for the drain plug on the front differential i realized the drain plug was only finger tight. Did not appear to be leaking though. All the excess fluid all over the outside of the front differential i am pretty sure it was from no cleanup after servicing before.

Done for the day. Going to find a shallow mud hole out by the lake and and see if any torque is being sent to the front wheels. After that then its time to get a line wet.

took off my Pillar Gauge pod to get ready for some fiber glassing...

also, hopefully for the last time, the beaSSt will be at the dealership again. This time is to trace down the coolant leak that she's been having since the last motor was installed, and to replace the AC Compressor they broke, the dryer accumulator, the AC Belt, and all associated o-rings. All of those things (Compressor, Belt, O-Rings, Accumulator) cost me $376.xx with my fathers discount, and the labor will be free since they're cleaning up their mess they made with all my motor swaps and trying to make me happy.

Prepped truck for the possible trip down this week. Changed out the Headlight Relay, strapped the 2 spares onto the rack, did oil/lube/filter and vacuumed out the inside. Also did a dry run with the GoPro that I got for Christmas and the new Garmin 2595LMT GPS that will be replacing the TomTom that I borrow from my sister that has not had updated maps since 2002 or so, on more than one occasion it said we were plowing through fields when we were clearly on a road (or at least what I thought was a road, some of those Ranch Roads in TX get a bit confusing)

I told you that WD40 is a cure all!

Change headlights on wife's Equinox.

Glorified lot boy for the time being. I just started there so it's basically just a foot in the door. My dad has owned a car dealership for years and I've grown up working there. Have experience all the way from the auction, to light mechanical, to detailing, all the way to the sale and paperwork. You name it and I've done it. In all honesty we just don't get along great spending that much time together so it was time to move on. I think my coworkers are finding out I'm capable of a little more than running the car wash.

Today I opened up the doors and turned up the radio. I figured a gallon of gas was cheap entertainment while I worked on my other project.

I'll have to get you guys an updated picture (for anyone that cares). It's almost entirely stripped now. All I need to do is take the windshield and suspension/undercarriage pieces off and get it on a rotisserie. Then she's ready to media blast.

PG as in swearing? Yeah, it was no big deal. I just need a different set of jumper cables if I plan on doing much jumping-off with the TB. I had to hold them on the positive terminal because there wasn't enough room to clip it on. But I was surprised at the output of the alternator on the TB. held the cable there for a minute then the tractor started right up.
