What switchbacks did you get?

I got his smd kind not the cree ones. When they are on, they're white. When I hit the signal, the white turns off, and just amber flashes. When I straighten back out, the amber turns off and the white resumes. Its his smd style ones. I dont know what he calls them, but the old ones I had, the white stayed on constantly, even while the amber flashed. That pissed me off everytime I signaled

Im actually trying to work up the courage to do the clear corner mod, and thought bout painting the bezel while im in there.. i just dont wanna mess up my only set of lights.. :undecided:

Gotta get these rocker covers done first before i start on anything else exterior though.. I might hit you and carlton up for some advice when i decide to tear into the lights.

Question for ya, what kind of fasteners did you have on the bottom of your rockers? Mine had some sort of 3 pronged screw heads, that I had nothing close to fitting, so I had to paint them on the truck :ugh:

As for getting into your headlights, once you actually get it done, like Juan said, it's really pretty easy in hindsight. Of course, either of us can give you tips and get you through the tough parts with ease

Oh I was pissed, but once I learned that it was a new guy putting everything back together, I just couldnt be pissed at him. Im working out a deal with the dealership since they have a new service manager now too. It's looking like I'll get free labor on installing my ac compressor but I'll have to buy all the parts. I'll take that deal since the labor costs morr then the parts.

That's good they are comping the labor for you, sounds like a fair deal to me, under the circumstances.

Mine just had the lil push pins on the bottom side.. I kinda tore couple of them up trying to get the pins out, but they should go back together I hope lol

Not sure I like decals yet. Skid is back to black like it was before winter. I guess I can snap a couple in a bit though

Whew... today I found my truck. Was not sure it made it home last night. ;)

Um, details? Was your truck out partying without you? Did it meet up with a cute little Mini convertible? Inquiring minds want to know.

It was partying but more aggressive than loving... hooked the winch to a lil Honda to motivate it.

Changed spark plugs, cleaned CPAS, replaced air injection valve, and changed oil. All with the help of my little helper.

Replaced lights in drivers door window switch assembly. One was burned out and the article here was the impetus to git 'er done!

When replacing the speakers I broke the trim around the switches. Took over a year but I finally found one on eBay but it was the taupe color. A litrle Plasti Dip and I have a color coordinated one now. Will do the other side hopefully next weekend.

When one of my nephews was noticed knowing the names of specific tools around 3 or 4 years old, his Dad taught him the numbers right away. He didn't know what a "quarter inch socket" was, but he knew what a 1 over 4 socket was. My friend put a step stool in front of the box and intentionally forgot tools in it at that point. His son started appreciating being able to help. He cleaned all tools after they were done. He's about 7 now and it's still a great father and son time, as well as being able to teach his son the value of taking care of something (the car, the tools).

When "Uncle Marc" visits, he wants to know if I need anything fixed on my car. :undecided: Gotta teach him electrical next.

Today I drove my TB over to my ex-GM-tech neighbor and had him take a look under the hood.
He took a look at my AC system and helped me out with a DIY r134a/sealant/oil kit and says he'll hook 'er up to his AC machine if any problems arise. Lo and behold after he put some r134a in, the compressor clutch engaged and the vents were blowing ice cold air for the first time since forever.
He also noted my upper radiator hose was beat and could blow at any minute, so I made a quick trip to Napa for a replacement.

After that was all said and done, I got a 10A fuse and now my under the bumper lights work.
(They look purpleish in the picture but they're really close to the switchback color IRL)

That's one nice work space you're showing there. Wished I lived a little closer to 41.696104, -73.888356, but it's a heck of a commute from 37.8044° N, 122.2708° W.

And that is why image EXIF data is a horrible security risk. :rotfl:

I have 2 girls, and we probably won't have anymore kids. So, I gotta start my girls out early. I'm determined to have a kid that will share my love of cars.

Training my daughter a couple years ago.

Made the dirty Bravada clean on Saturday, and then did Dad's EXT yesterday, before then I had only seen his after it had gone through Mike's Express. I am not sure if his had EVER been detailed. Hell I ruined a clay bar on his truck. Yep it was that kind of dirty. :raspberry:

It looks fine

Guys how much should a pair of used SS headlights cost? I'm on the search and someone pmed to send them a reasonable offer. I think 80 is okay?

Not the most appropriate thread for a discussion of value, but I would say that's about what new costs for regular ones, so prolly fair for used. I would base it off what new costs, but never looked at SS costs.

Uh, aren't the LS and SS headlights the same? You can get a cheap set on ebay for under $100 new.

Are the vents in lights or grill...

SS & LS are the same. The 06+ LT headlights are different.

Vents are in the grille's crossbar.

This is the cheapest new set I could find, most are going for about $85 for a pair. For a used set, adjust your expectations accordingly. :twocents:

Yup I paid 85 shipped for my new set of lights a few months ago. The ls/ss/02-05 Lt are the same lights. Only the 06+ Lt are diff and they are twice as expensive.. which really sux lol

That's what I thought, Kyle threw me off. Started thinking, well what the hell is different in the headlights?
