messed around with the left rear tail light, just to find out that the board inside must be bad, and that's total guess though

the brake light doesn't work on that side, but the turn signal, reverse and running light work....right side is gtg

time to get a set of ANZO's for the back along with the Avalanche 3rd brake light

also got a quote on my windshield, i'm not going to pay $500 deduct for a $240 replacement from SafeLite

need to do these before I get a fix it ticket :hissyfit:

I would suggest a new insurance company/agent if you have a deductible on a windshield if you have windshield replacement. I replace a windshield once every 2 years at minimum, lucky wife, and have not seen a bill or rate increase because of this. PM me their info, I'll call them for ya. :gunsablazin:

I figured but thought I'd ask first. That is the #1 overlooked thing with bulbs on cars I've noticed so I always check

Depending on the LED tails you're looking at they may still need a functional circuit board. Mine use the board still.

Not sure if it was lazy or the Tempurpedic having a grasp on me. I did manage to make it to the transfer station and rinse off all the salt.

Many insurance companies have glass as a seperate charge or it falls under your standard deductible. When my DD windshield cracked it was $210 for a new one since I have a $500 deductible.

Insurance companies are not required to offer windshield replacement free or discounted.

I had the same thing happen to me, it resolved itself after I replaced the battery, thank god! lol.

I've been having a few issues with the battery, actually. Time to replace it. Maybe that'll fix my problem

Although, once I open the cluster back it...I HAVE to replace the led's with flat-top led's. I promised myself next time I had it out I would :bonk::bonk:

Ordered all the LEDs for my interior lighting upgrade! :wootwoot:

I myself am torn on this, I love the brightness afforded by the upgrade, but I don't dig the "hospital" look. You know, that pale white that's like fluorescent lights. If white were an available interior it'd make it look like a sanitarium.

2005, and still the factory battery. Don't ask me how because I really don't know. It's high on the replacement list, rest assured.

So get them in 'warm' white. Problem solved.

Interesting, I was not aware of this. I'm used to bright white, red, yellow, green and blue. Call me old-school.

Any particular brands you would suggest?

Run a quick search on Ebay, sort by price. Find something that fits the amount of LEDs you want for a price you're willing to pay, and pull the trigger. A lot of guys like the flat panel style with the plug n' play pigtail, and zip tie them to the reflector bowl.

As long as the covers snap back over them so my rigging wouldn't be obvious, lol. Alright, I'll look into that some time.

This is exactly what I used to think based on pictures. Then I saw them in MAY03LTs truck in person and it doesn't have that effect at all IMO. I'm not sure exactly which ones he has but it made the truck look great as opposed to that alien autopsy look that pictures make it seem like

Automotive LED Lights | LED Driving Lights | LED Lights For Cars Check out this site. They have a nice assortment of LEDs from headlights to vanity mirrors. I buy all my LEDs from this site because they actually give their LEDs a Kelvin rating instead of saying "bright white", "Hot white" or any other type of white they want to call it. Their 5K is basic pure white. 6K has a very slight blueish tint to it. Same concept as HID bulb ratings.

Plus their LEDs perform well. I have not had one burn out yet like from other suppliers I have bought from over the years.

1 x Pure White 48 5050 SMD LED Light Panel T10 Dome BA9S Adapter | eBay

These are the panels I have, 8 in total and I couldn't be happier. the 5050 SMD's are rougly equal to 3 3528 led's. I'm pretty confident that the only person who might be brighter than me is Carlton, and even that is subjective lol. I would think the blue LED's put out less lumens than white, I would have to see his truck in person lol

 Yeah you're right, blue LEDs are less bright than white ones, on a head to head basis. That's why I had to max out and cram as many blue ones as I could into my dome lights. The push buttons on the 3rd row seats don't work, there's no room behind the lens for them to move. The cover for the 2nd row seats doesn't seat properly, so it pokes out of the headliner slightly. BUT, they are bright as daylight (on an alien planet), and that's what I was aiming for, so mission accomplished!!

Now if I chose white instead, they would be just ri-damn-diculously bright

I just soldered in 3 blue LED's w/ resistor into each light. And it lights it up decently enough.

I got all green interior leds and like it better than the red, blue, white ones the interior has had over the years.

Yesterday I put another 150+ miles on it and blew a hole in my exhaust somewhere underneath the truck  It isn't "muffler gone missing" loud but it still vibrates the floorboards a bit and drones pretty good. Sigh. Going to have to crawl under there and see where I blew the hole at so I can patch it up.

Did this coming home from high school one time in my old S10, I remember it was roaring enough that I looked down to see I'd bumped it down into drive out of overdrive. :rotfl:

Sparky, sorry to hear your troubles. Do what us "smart" folks do up north, wait for a cool morning and you will see the exhaust spewing out of the hole when it starts.

To what? Almost all the exhausts on the i6 sound funny. And at 12 years and 193k miles I'm not really sure I want to put a lot into the exhaust on this thing

Yeah I was going to do that this morning but got a late start. I'll check it when I leave work this afternoon.

Today I replaced the battery in my key fob.

I wrote a How To in case anyone needs....
1. Go to store and buy (1) CR2032 battery.
2. Open key fob by inserting a quarter into edge of key fob.
3. Remove old battery.
4. Insert new battery.
5. Close key fob together.
6. Enjoy.

Maybe that's part of it, second-hand experience through photos puts you at the will of the camera's color balancing, etc.

I didn't remove it from the keychain and now I can't figure out how to get the old battery out in the limited space. Why wasn't this information supplied?

I've seen some of the pics of the boards you made, but never bothered to count. How many LED's were you able to fit on each board? By my calculations I have 288 5050 SMD's inside the cab, so equivalent to 864 of the smaller 3528's, then another 96 5050's for the license plate lights.
