I am ordering the new cree smds from kevo. Hopefully they'll last. Hate taking my grill off and on so much. Broke a tab this morning...that really pissed me off!!

I have them in my fogs! Brighter than my 3000k fogs I had before. Soon enough I'll buy the low beams lol

Converted back to stock headlights,,,,, lows would not come back on period. So now I have my clear corner euros back in with halogen bulbs for now....I fuckin hate HIDS!!!

I'm telling ya, get good HIDs and don't look back. Morimoto kit from theretrofitsource.com costs more than the others but for good reason.

Nearly two years on my TB with a $35 DDM kit. Still works. Maybe it's all just luck of the draw or just the way some people install their lights. I wonder.

I've told this to I don't know how many people, but I've gone through about 4 different sets of HID's. From a local shop, a few online, one on ebay, and finally Morimoto's. These Morimotos are brighter than any set I've ever had (including a "100 watt ballast" set) and by far the best construction I've seen. Well worth the money, I recommend them to everyone.

Going on 4 years with my VVME hid and not a bit of trouble from them. Easily worth the money since they were under $49 on ebay

Buying lights from kevin....fuck HIDS

I don't have HIDs so I'm curious, since you already have the projectors for the HIDs installed, will it be as simple as taking out the HID ballasts and bulbs and then plugging in the new SMDs (plus maybe some tweaking of the wiring and relays and all that), or will it require you to crack open your headlight housings?

Kevin said they are mostly plug n play. I am not going back with my projectors...done with those too. So if I were to just use my projectors without HIDS all id have to do is buy some halogen h1 and h7 bulbs and use them with the stock wiring harness like the oem housings (projector housing used h7 and h1 bulbs)

Tootsie Roll Sand and finish, roughly same path did not remove much material at all tried to make the smoothest runner I could while minimizing chance of catastrophic mistake. Still have to work on the Bowls.

I had the same thing happen to me, it resolved itself after I replaced the battery, thank god! lol.

There is a guy on ORTB who doesn't post much anymore who put a 44 gal Tahoe tank in his EXT. I have often thought of doing the same. That'd be double the range. More ideas to add to the mod list.

I actually dreamt of a 40gal tank of my drive west a few days ago. Would the 44gal Tahoe tank fit on a swb TB? Any idea how big of a tank a swb could fit without cutting anything for fitment?

While that would be awesome for range and less frequent fill ups, I can imagine how long it would take to sit at the pump to fill it. I wonder how much that added weight would negatively affect MPGs during normal DD activities. :undecided:

The extra weight would be less than some carry. 122lbs? And time isn't important. The 7min fill just became 15 and saved me a stop. As far as hurt on the wallet, the tb gets $20 unless I'm driving farther. 6+yrs.

My 40 gallon tank in the Burban would fill in about 2 extra minutes vs my TB. Once you are pumping, it is a non-issue.

Yes, but you won't be doing any swapping without cutting, sorry. There are a number of things you have to transfer over. Also the best placement is where the spare tire is.

Yeah, the extra weight really is a non-issue for MPG's. It's less than a second passenger adult and probably closer in weight to a teenage girl in your car.

You just got to kick one of the dead hookers out of the hatch area to offset the weight.

Unless you're stuck at one of those excruciatingly slow pumps in the dead of winter with subzero wind chills :hissyfit:

Been there done that with a standard size tank.

It's probably a good idea not to keep dead hookers in your truck to begin with. Just sayin'

You need dead hookers to measure trunk size. I know my Impala has a 5 DH trunk. The carpool benefit is just a bonus.

Stopped by the Chevrolet dealership and saw my favorite parts counter lady. Ordered an 07 and up style rear wiper arm, blade, ramp, and cap for my Envoy to finish off the look of the debadging and glass handle delete mods. The parts are going to cost me just a hair over $68, which is cheaper than I can find 'em online for, separately or in a kit.

I've put money aside a few bucks at a time for a little while for this, figured I'd add a few bucks to it and go for it. I just love getting parts at cost. :wootwoot:

Got in the FPR which will be my task in the morning, also picked up a new fuel filter old one has some mileage on it. Been looking for a while to see the procedures for replacing both and have not found either in the 02-05 manuals. Maybe I just need some sleep.

Nice, let me know if you ever want to unload those 3" top mounts (if you had them, cant remember). When do we get pics?
