Walked out of the restaurant after the Columbus OH lunch meet, saw my truck from a distance, and it struck me just how good it looks now, particularly from the front. VERY happy with how it sits

It probably helped that it was actually pretty clean for the first time in a while, and that darker green really looks nice in the sunlight. I really wish they didn't discontinue that color after the first couple model years :frown:

I still want to come up with something for the wheels, but don't want to buy aftermarket (too much $$ and already have spacers not adapters anyway), so I'm thinking of getting some gunmetal wheel paint, maybe with the face gunmetal and the recessed parts and barrel in black. I'll need to figure out something for the bow ties on the caps. One original bow tie emblem is totally gone now.

Truck Is Running Dangerously lean at WOT. 16.0 A/Fr should be around 12.0 sending an ecm off for tuning Monday. Im suprised this thing is still alive but she keeps ticking. This issue is on a stock ECM so who knows how long it has been running like sh*t. Hope to get it all straightened out this cam goes in hell or high water. "Love thy LS2"

Don't think so. Just the design of the shitty oil pans that the tb has. A lot of guys convert with a c5 pan.

C6 pan to be exact :raspberry:

We had the Mid-Atlantic meet yesterday. Was fun hanging out with May and Mike.

There was an empty space in between Mike and my car. We were talking for a while and the valet parking attendant from the restaraunt came over. We thought he was going to yell at us for loitering, but he put a cone down in front of the space we were in so that no one would park there! We ate lunch, and when we came out he had parked a blue TB there! We were low on numbers at this meet, so I appreciated him beefing up our numbers! He came back over to check out Mike's truck, which is badass by the way. You kind of need to see it in person to get the full effect because pictures don't do it justice.

We moved to this random parking lot so that MAY could show me how to solder some stuff. Just after MAY left, I noticed this rainbow and wanted to grab a picture.
I said to Mike, my car looks like its broken down and needs a jump and his looks like it's about to go on a SWAT team mission!

Sounds like you guys at least had some fun, even though it was only a few of you.

Maybe next year I won't be swamped with other stuff so I can make it up that way.

Spent a couple hours cleaning her up after the last few weeks of rain. Finally got around to cleaning up my engine bay. Now just need to clean the hood mat.

I'm shopping for brakes. They are worn, one of the rotors up front is warped, the rear driver side slide pin had seized up a little while ago and wore the pad all weird, etc so I'm thinking I should just go ahead and get that all taken care of nice and fresh. Thinking brakemotive again, unless anyone has any recommendations of something similar priced that is better. I can get 4 duralast gold rotors and ceramic pad sets for around $210 after tax, brakemotive is $180... hmm

I honestly think his best bet would be to remove the liner all together. If anything spray paint under the hood black, that liner is never going to look brand new again. I spent a few hours with degreaser, car soap, brushes, etc and ened up just giving up on it.

That's more than likely going to be my plan remove it and paint the hood black

Found out the shop in my hometown will do a dyno pull for $75. What's the rate in your area? Haven't checked the cities but want to compare it to the tuned runs I have seen around here for an I6. See what I've lost, and maybe get a tune for xmas...

Over how many miles? Calculated by actual fuel fill-ups?

Yes, on the TB. Unfortunately only over 20 miles and not counted by fuel fills.

That evening, I got 24.6 over 40 miles in the other direction.

So the numbers are bunk.

Even with 35s, I can run 60 mph in my truck and have it showing over 20 mpg per scangauge for 10, 20, 50 miles, but never get a whole tank to calculate out near that high. Best with full tank and going 250/280 miles is about 17.6 so far. Obviously than is not all at one speed, because it is not possible to always drive one speed. You can never fill up at 60 mph, so the cruising number is not a real mpg calculation.

It is completely ignorant to try to say you get X mpg while at certain speed for small distances. Wind, road surface, weather, temperature, level, and tons of other things come into pay and can drastically skew small numbers when cherry picking samples.

Run 500/1000/oil change miles and use the actual gallons to prove something or you are just BS'ing us.

after seeing some posts on this, i decided to do mine but couldn't remove the hold down nut. so i had to use a deep oxygen sensor socket with a 6" extension for a handle and a acetylene brazing tip and putting the socket over the nut, i used the gap in the socket for access, shielding the plastic cowl from going up in flames.. i repainted them and they look a lot better. a real PTA but worth it

Had mechanic change transfer case, front diff, transmission fluid and encoder motor.

Got my Dr Colorchip so fixed the little chips in hood, front bumper and road rash in front of back wheel wells. Very satisfied with the hood chips. I think I'm going to have a detailer work on the wheel wells, looks better though. Front bumper really needs to be stripped down and repainted I think. Might do someday I guess.

Got all the floor/carge mats in. Love them.

Finally found an answer to using huge coffee cups on my Saab 9-7x because it's designed so pitifully.

Took off multiple kayak arms from roof and got key made for Yakima Racks. They look very cool but make noise if left on and am certain hurting already nasty gas mileage. Going to probably list these for sale.

Got extra key made to put under car so don't lock myself out, which almost happened once already.
Cost about 45 for the key with chip and magnetic case.

Put on door protectors so I don't slam and chip the paint when getting out of car in garage mostly. They look great.

New air filter

Used fine tip permanent marker/black on buttons that were work off, looks great.

Alignment done

Yet to do: rear diff and new set of tires. Watched so many video's on tires that Mediacom is now telling me I'm almost at my limit for the month. Now, just waiting to wave at the first person I see with same car in Minnesota. I think we're a rare bird
