As much as I would like to put a weld on tip on, I am fine with the bolt on. This way I can change it at any time either due to corrosion, bored of look etc. However weld on does look a whole lot cleaner.

agreed...but I did switch out the bolts that came with it for self tapping screws so its not going anywhere! below are the pictures. and after not riding around in it, I do notice a higher pitch on the sound coming out of the tailpipe on a cold start at least. in the second picture down you can see the bubbles that were the result of me not waiting until it cooled down to paint it. couple more coats and that should go away. whats awesome about the specific tip I bought was that the pipe went into the tip and then there was a narrower part on the inside that the pipe went flush. its hard to explain what I am trying to say. I think the tailpipe had a resonator in it (it doesn't do anything I know) but the pipe I had welded in went flush up to that so there wont be any rattling or anything.

Pretty sure thats the same tip I have.

dc sports 2-2 3/4 bolt on in black? I am thinking about taking the bolts off and putting on an exhaust clamp. the bolts are flimsy...

DC yes, polished stainless though.

The little blocks that "bite" the pipe are pretty flimsy, but I put quite a bit of tension on them and the ends started flaring out which made it really stick on. I will stick with it until I get sick of it.

I might have to borrow one of my buddies big 6" diesel tips just as a joke.

I would like to run into a big pile of cash, so I could have the stock muffler, and then have a Y come out of it and run each pipe into the rear bumper where the reflectors are and have tips just to fit there, or have the marine style ones made up so they bolt into a piece of metal that fits that hole.

I don't know about down in MD where you are, but the weather up here in Maine sometimes gets in the single digits or lower, and the "smoke" that pours out the pipe makes it all that much cooler...to my kids that is ( they are 4 &5, and they think my car is like lightning McQueen when I do exhaust stuff)

Trimmed the corner of my front bumper cover, I think enough so it won't catch the tire.

Also tried hiding my antenna but running a wire up the A pillar made the reception totally suck. Taking that same wire and sticking it straight up make it work almost perfectly, and having just the very end of the wire stick up was about half in between :undecided: Either the angle is just really bad for reception or the antenna being sandwiched in the folds of the rubber seal attenuates it too much. Hmmmm

There is no difference between my stock antenna and the 9" billet one I installed. However there is a huge difference between the OEM radio and aftermarket.

PS told you so.:raspberry:

Can't remember what year he said his was ( I just met him on Thursday when I picked up the gold tbss replicas he sold me) but I do remember him telling me that he forgot about the stabilitrak when he was changing the shifter and now it's stuck in the off position because he already sold the old shifter so now he can't change it. Or something like that.

I bought his original shifter and it has no stabilitrak button (reason i bought it)

Finally a stroke of luck.. got the call from the engine builder 2 days ago and the final prognosis is......

2 collapsed and severely destroyed lifters... so no complete tear down needed and no spun bearings.. plus the dealer is still footing the bill and buying me the pcm of nc oil relocation kit :wootwoot:

Where ever this motor was assembled, some dumbass put 2 of the lifters in wrong. I guess they slide in this tray and can only go one way (kinda like when you plug and unplug a wire harness, it only goes back one way) but this asshole jammed the 2 lifters in sideways on the tray and in a matter of a few hundreds miles the lifter was completely worn flat so there was the source of my tick tick tick...

New oil relocation kit should be here tomorrow, all new lifters installed and both heads gone over completely and its looking like I'll have my truck back by the end of this month and I can part ways with this dealership...

Hopefully there's some light at the end of this tunnel

The pushrod was on the roller!?!? Maybe it was the wrong size lifters cause if it can even go in upside down your pushrod would be on a roller instead of the indented side of the lifter. That builder should not be near a motor.

I wasn't there for the teardown, he just showed me the flattened lifter.. I mean flat! So whoever built this motor is at fault.. nothing we could've done to even know this was going to happen.. I'm just happy it doesn't need a complete tear down...

Clean throttle body, also did front and rear differential oil

Also when I was reversing out my garage it seems like my e-brakes were still engaged even though I released the brake?

Any ideas

My parking brake sticks due to what I assume is rusty cables that makes it hang. I haven't had use of my parking brake for about a year now. 1st year I didn't have a parking brake because the previous guy removed the shoes and backing plates, 2nd year I fixed that and had it, now the 3rd year I don't again. Conspiracy!

Got my DP Hoses installed and after modifying the Susoension Maxx endlinks also got them installed.

Couldn't get those stupid metal bushings out of the swaybar so I ended up putting it on the outer mounting hole making the links angled. Good news is my clunking is gone, and the swaybar is perfectly parallel to the ground. I'll probably get back under there one day to push out the bushings and put it on the inner mounting hole.

Oh and STL, the links completely fixed my clunking issues. I thought about it after I posted, and I cut my rear springs so if that was a problem I either fixed it or made it worse.

What oil relocation kit did you get and where are you thinking of putting it?

It's a new oil pickup tube in the pan it converts the 6.0s terrible front sump to a rear sump.

Wait, so this is something totally different from a remote oil filter kit?

Yep this just changes the location in the pan where the oil is picked up by the pump. The issue with front sump is that the oil naturally flys to the back of the pan during a launch and cause oil starvation. That's why every SS guy keeps 7qts in his pan to overfill and combat the starvation or change the pick up tube completely.

Ah okay thank you very much that's very informative. I take it then that an I6 does not have this problem? Or is it just that us I6 guys aren't pulling as many Gs when we're driving lol? (Thereby throwing the oil into the back of the pan?)

There is no worry for the I6 folks... GM and their stupid designs on the SS... the kit also comes with 2 baffles, plates, dividers, whatever you wanna call them, so the oil doesn't slosh around the pan as much either... every SS needs one if you ask me, and I just got mine for free lol.. WINNING!

Don't think so. Just the design of the shitty oil pans that the tb has. A lot of guys convert with a c5 pan.

Finished replacing the upper and lower ball joints on both sides of mine this morning. Been working at it off and on for about 10 days now, a little here and a little there. Installed a brush guard too. Back on the road!
