I found out the owner of the saab bought it with the knock and found metal shavings in the oil when he did an oil change. This leads me to believe that it had the burning oil issue caused by the AFM, because its at 200,000 kms for a 2007 so i know its mostly if not all highway kms (when AFM activates)
Hopefully he didnt use it as a DD still and completely score up the insides. I'm thinking it might be better to do a complete engine swap at this point.
What engine options do i have considering its has the 58x reluctor wheel? I know i can always get the lingenfelter 58x to 24x converter

Even at this point no matter what is wrong with the engine, as long as the trans and differentials are in good shape $2500 for a roller is a steal. Only 2 ways to know the condition of the internals. Bore scope it, or pull it apart.

Yup still runs, but for how long is the question lol

the ls7/9 hybrid would mean new tranny and driveshaft and diffs
Im trying to keep this as cost efficient as possible lol
I just got denied a increase and loan from the bank because im a full time student with no income so it automatically denies
Trying to get my mom to co-sign for a student line of credit but she thinks my voy is perfectly fine and i dont need a new one (especially one that needs fixing)
I just wanna buy it and get it running lool

This is my recommendation... don't put toys on credit. Takes longer, but save up cash.

Haha i know, i have enough cash to buy the saab. Im just using credit to rebuild/swap the engine to get it running then i'm going to sell my voy for $5-6000 and repay the credit line and have $2-3000 extra to save and fix up anything else the saab needs
I have it all planned out already lol i wouldnt put myself into debt over materialistic items lol i'm actually making money and a truck thats 3 years newer (i consider it more of an investment lol)

You should change the steering wheel, its like $100-150 and you can get a newer model airbag too
Im really not a fan of that colour on the wheel but thats just me
Other than that it looks pretty good, just the wheel is an eye sore to me lol

$50 on carid.com for a black and titanium one

Lmao that's what i told tami. I need a new steering wheel. The pic looks like the interior is darker than it actually is. I have the tan interior so the stering wheel matches the rest of the dash, just in the pics it looks ultra tan. lol

That pic of the steering wheel you put up is exactly what ran through my head as i told my wife I needed a new one lol.

I have one from the same company in my voy and for the price it was wayy worth it. Its not the best quality, you can feel where the wood starts and stops because it has a little bit of a step and the leather had burrs in a section of it (wore out after a while and now its smooth) but like i said you'll be more than happy for the price, beats a steering wheel cover anyday.

I know this is not an earth shattering mod. but, my pass side head light chrome reflector was getting a little hazy and I knew that it would only get worse. Spotted 2 NOS lights on ebay and was able to get a smokin' deal.
Snapped them in today and it really made her look new again(closest I will ever get to a new Denali:frown:).

OR
Send it out to one of the vendors on this site who does the work (heard good things about their work) i think its RMS customs

Yeah it took me a little bit to finally decide between two different blues. Couldn't decide which one was closer haha. But now I'm happy with my choice.

 Have a look at ConeKilerAutoX's headlights. He has more in his profile garage, but you get the idea.

Hey Ryda,

Which wood grain model steering wheel is that?
Looks like it's a pretty good match for the wood grain already in the voy.

Thanks.

Last 2 days:

seafoam
oil change
cleaned air filter

Changed passenger side front hub assembly and dust shield.

Funny the driver's side went out at around 95,000 km. People telling me that the passenger side would go out shortly. Swapped the OEM passenger side at 189,000 km!

Puched out old studs for safe keeping

oh the fun things you can do with your intercooler and fun cold air intake designs when you don't have to deal with winter driving....road salt would be all over that intercooler like white on rice...and it would quickly turn into a summer car.

Waiting for my tires to come in. I still need to grind the lug nuts but that might have to wait until tomorrow.

Daddyx2 here is the pic you requested. The zerk fitting is in the center of the pic with a glob of grease on it.

:banghead: You know what I meant, LOL.

Honestly looking at the wheels I have now, I might not have to grind. I will need to do a test fit but they have pockets in between every lug nut hole that go pretty far in. I will do a test fit tomorrow, would like to today but have been busy. I also need to see where the tires will sit as I think these might stick out a bit.

While my Envoy is out of commission, I've decided to do a few things that I've been putting off.

One of these is re-wiring my tail lights and soldering all the connections.

Here is a picture of the wiring with my LED bulbs installed in the sockets.

Here is a picture of the wiring setup in the lights.

This is how I had them wired up before.

rock on man, thanks! now for the follow up questions. having never owned a grease gun in my life, are they 'one size fits all', or are there specific sizes needed? and access to these points is pretty easy without having a lift or jack stands?

All zerk fittings are a standard size. Some of my components came with straight ones others 90 degree ones. I faced the 90 degree ones towards the back. You would need to look to see what direction your mechanic put them in. As for greasing, I did mine in the parking lot at Auto zone. For the difficult to reach ones I turned the steering to full lock one direction, greased, and turned the wheel to the other side and did the same.

Now you will have a few choices in grease guns, I recommend one with a flexible hose as it makes things a lot easier. Also you will have 3 oz, and 14/15 oz. Pay the extra for the big one as you get more for your money. You could also get a grease gun and bulk tub of grease. This would require packing the gun instead of swapping tubes, can get messy.

Like I said $25 will get you a tube of Mobil 1 and a grease gun with a flexible hose.

I noticed the top of mine is starting to disappear now. Not sure how concerned I am about it though. At least if I do fix it, there will be a write up.

If it gets sucked in water can get in there, and then that rusts the liftgate. I'd fix it sooner than later.
