Hahahaha well if i ever get to fixing those things i'll send you a how to :raspberry:

Well my headlight project just came to an abrupt halt. I ended up trimming my thumb instead of some plastic with my utility knife by using it like a moron  I have a wad of paper towels wrapped around it right now with a rubber band putting pressure on it, hopefully that stops the bleeding. Brand new blade too so it cut pretty deep. Ouch.

Good news is I think the trimming is just about done so I think I'm still on track for getting this finished up.

IMO, STAY AWAY FROM GOOF OFF. i tried that on some sticker residue on a plastic part, GOOF OFF F'd the plastic up.

GOO GONE or Bug and Tar Remover, may take awhile depending on how thick it is.

Nice thick heavy droplet of tar. Must have just done a road I hit this weekend cause it sprayed it good.

get the spray bottle of bug and tar remover, spray it on and let it sit and soak a bit.
then use a thick towel, may take some rubbing, but that stuff works pretty well.
it does have an odor to it, may want to keep the little one away from it.

Lighter fluid works well, also. It just be mental, but I also feel it doesnt cut into the clearcoat and paint, like goo gone does.

I've used a foam bug pad with a mesh cover to get pounds of bugs and tar off. Dawn dish soap or heavily watered down paint thinner. Not the best for paint but neither is tar. Rinse thoroughly immediately. Never any issues.

Car wash I worked at when I was 14/15 we used a 50/50 paint thinner water, sometimes more paint thinner. It comes off very fast and we cleaned it up asap. Don't know about long term consequences with that high of a mix:rotfl:
no one ever came back to complain, just liked the look of NO TAR. Didn't matter what kind of car you brought in.

Taking a break for dinner at the moment, but I have all the wiring figured out and tested. Thanks GM for breaking wiring rules, again. The front markers are neither SRCK or traditional wiring, just some sort of goofball stuff. But, figured it out and we're good. Tonight I'll be sealing up the lights and be ready to go tomorrow

I also painted my grille black again to clean it up from the 11 years of weathering.

Also, a quick cell pic preview of the passenger light. Not fully assembled and the lens isn't on there yet, but it gives you the idea. Yes, those are LED strip turn signals, and a little more

I'm guessing after that kinda treatment you would wanna throw a nice coat of wax on the area......

The words "and more" peak my curiosity. Might these be switchback strips?

$20.00 off is not a bad deal, basically paid for the UPS 2nd day air shipping. Next fill out the tune order sheet (If you have not already) with all of the specifications for your tune and submit. I made a copy of each page of the tune order sheet and plan on sending that in the box with the PCM so there is no confusion. They also ask for the VIN number as well so have that handy.

Then I would contact Kelly at PCMofNC and give them a heads up on when you plan on sending the PCM in and a deadline when you need it returned, unless you went the loaner route. They also have a How-To on their website on how to remove the PCM. From what I have been told, if you mail in your PCM they get it shipped back out within the same day (If it arrives in the morning). Worst case is the next morning. Mail in tunes take priority according to Kelly.

The strips are single color strips. But they will function in a switchback sort of way

I just finished sealing the housings up. Well, I hope anyway. I emptied nearly 2 full tubes to do it, so they had better be watertight. If they aren't... :hissyfit:

Unfortunately I have no daylight to finish the stuff on the truck itself. So either I'll be getting up earlier tomorrow morning to finish that up before I leave, or the lights will have to not fully function the way I want them to. We'll see I guess.

Do you suffer from squeaky glovebox?
Worry no more, ryda55555 has come up with a simple yet very effective fix :rotfl:

Thank you very much for this write up. It motivated me to get off my bum and fix a problem I've had, with my console cover. Mine was squeaky, but only because the inner upper cover was broken. It came with a "soft" spot, as if someone had leaned too hard on it. Didnt quite know how to go about it, until your post gave me my "Ah-Ha" moment.

After getting it apart, I saw how deep the damage was. The plate the hinge attaches to had broken away from the lid. Not a huge problem, since the hinge screws will hold it all together securely. I tried to assemble it with just the foam filler, at first. It was a little better. I realized I needed something thin and stiff, between the lid and the foam. Luckily, I had some left over Plexiglas. The wife wanted me to throw it out months ago. I told her I might need it someday. Today I got to tell her "I told you so!".:raspberry: Anyhow, it goes lid top, Plexiglas, Foam, then lid bottom. The foam was just some self expanding packing foam that came in a box at work. The lid feels like its brand new again. Thanks again for this post Ryda55555.

Did the plexi really fix it? I would of assumed you'd need some sort of adhesive to fasten the plexi to the lid so it doesnt flex because of the foam underneath
But nice work! Looks good, and i bet it feels better :raspberry:

after the truck broke down on me for the second time in the two weeks Ive had it I called the lot where I bought it. Now i go in tomorrow morning to attempt to get my money back. Its a shame too. I really like my TB but the trust issues are mounting fast. I bought it in my hometown from a local owned family business so maybe I have a chance. Wish me luck. (oh the breakdown this time was the SES light came on, flashing, and the truck started sputtering and vibrating. And the exhaust smelled funky. Going get a code read at Autozone in the morning. Hopefully its something minor or that the lot will fix for me. Again wishes and prayers my way please (and any encouraging words)).

Sounds like a misfire to me.

On my project I ran out of solder! Crap. Need it for the high beam pigtail. Two options - wire nut temporarily, or get up early enough to run to the office and get a little bit from our bulk spool...

Yes, it has been that long since I first started. I feel like an idiot taking as long as I have

Of course, bugs-tar-wash-wax. Always tackle the hard stuff first. Why you would wash it then remove tar is beyond me. Unless you didn't catch the tar until later, which means your ride isn't as clean as you think it is, lol

No adhesive needed. With the Plexi and the foam sandwiched between the lid top and bottom, it holds the Plexi in place nicely. The foam is more dense than sponge type foam. Imagine the spray can insulating foam, but not as dense.

figured i would tackle my in mirror turn signals that lasted 10 minutes I have 2 mirrors (glass) pieces on order I'm going to do mine little different with the same effect. I only have a tiny chip in the one but I can already see it saving me a lot of work just being able to rip those old mirrors right off. UPS needs to hurry up so I can get this trans cooler moving.

Hey thanks for the heads up!! I filled out the order sheet. Did not put my vin in. I will put it in the box. Do they send a box or is that something I need to send out?
