this is why I love the fact that my father works at a dealership :raspberry:.. I got my mirror lenses from the dealer.. plenty in stock there :rotfl: but that mod is well worth it to me...

as for what I did.. I received my new relay harness for my HID's... (old one corroded up on me and actually snapped the pronges off inside the ballast plug.. ive had my HID's for over 2 and a half years... so for the $40 I paid for them, they've lasted long enough for me...) and I have a new ballast on the way from VVME ($20 bucks on ebay)... and I also received some more LED's from my best friend (ghenny440 on here) for a mod to be displayed at another date... or whenever I get to it :rotfl:

I hate you guys..... Got me looking for clear markers now...... :rotfl:

Edit: just remembered the previous owner glued the amber marker on the driver side to the mirror assembly..... Had to take the mirror cap off to change the bulb to LEDs...
How are the aftermarket mirror assemblies? Cause they're only 60-70 each on ebay

You mean these?

:undecided: I've heard the issues with aftermarket mirror assemblies are the quality of the mirror glass. But you may be able to transplant your stock glass to the new ones, and be good to go.

Those are the ones I bought. Seller did take a while to ship, over 2 weeks, but they were brand new in the boxes.

Yea i dont really wanna take the chance of mirrors being poor quality and my original mirrors dont fit... Might just order clear lenses and break off the amber one and if it doesnt work then i'll buy one from a junk yard
My new steering wheel comes in tomorrow though! Gunna take it to a garage for them to swap out everything so that they're responsible if the airbag goes off
I've seen too many people get airbags in their face from static just by putting the airbag on a metal work bench and then picking it up again

Whats the going rate for a steering wheel swap? I have a grant that I haven't done anything with and really want to have it installed. I would do it myself, but like you said, I really don't want any problems with the air bag.

Suppossedly it only takes 45 mins, im gunna try and take it to a local garage and see if they'll do it for a flat rate of like $50-$80
I'll let you know how much it costs tomorrow or saturday if the man in brown comes by too late
The steering wheel costs $97 at carid.com and $122 after shipping to toronto
Probably a lot cheaper and faster for you since they're in new jersey
Fast shipping too, ordered tuesday, shipped out wednesday, comes in friday

At minimum I would suggest upgrading your front battery (XS Power D3400, Diehard Platnium G34, something like that) which would probably run you $200-250. Not sure about mainland prices but that's about how much they are locally. They do the Big 3 which can probably be done for $50 or less if you buy the wire by the foot and cut / crimp everything yourself.

Sounds like those euromax's are gonna have to come first  REALLY want those rims...but yea, I'll be doing that myself. Anything to save a buck that I can do myself confidently...I'm doing lol
I'm gonna start the bottom/back/sides of the fiberglass molds of the trunk tomorrow if I have the time. The way I see it, I'm gonna change my.mine 10 times about how I want it before I finish, so, might as well start early.

Good luck with the fiberglass lol. I don't like working with the stuff, takes too much time to grind it down, body work it, and get it nice and smooth before you can paint or wrap lol

DupliColor Wheel paint. I used one can on all 4 rims with about 2.5 coats each rim.

I used the duplicolor graphite wheel paint, 1 can for 4 wheels and 1 can of clear duplicolor wheel paint (a lot better than normal clear coat) to finish it off so i get a little more protection, best wheel paint i've used so far. Everything else just flakes off after a car wash or two (been through 4-5 so far and they're still mint)

Picked up some Simple Green to clean some spots on the rear carpet (one has been there at least three years). Nothing else would touch them. SG had the spots gone in two minutes.

Drove mine to the junk yard for some scavenging.

  • Passenger side headlight, $30. Win
  • 4 interior door handle bezels with all of the tabs intact except 1 that had 3 good clips, $12. Win
  • Cabin air filter door and 4WD place holder for a couple bucks each. Win
  • Driver's seat panel to replace my broken one, $50 (they charged it as a convertible cloth roof?) Sort of win
  • Pair of door checks off an 05 EXT, since one of mine is noisy. They charged me for only 1 at $7, which was a nice win. Then I got home and one broke (one of the doors was crushed in so it was likely already damaged) Looked at my existing door checks, and they aren't the same. FAIL!!

Hey Blckshdw, you wanna come off one of those bezels? There are no tb's in the yards around me and I've had a broken bezel for like 6 months.

Sorry man, I've got you beat. All of mine have had at most 2 tabs on them for years now, since the first couple of times I took them off, I didn't do it properly. :duh: But like you, replacing mine was pretty low on the priority list, until it dawned on me yesterday poking around a couple of junked ones. From what I see on Ebay right now, you're looking at about $12 each, so not too bad.

i don't know how the prices are at dealerships for you guys in the different states, but those bezels are only $12 from the dealership (had to buy 2 of them)... and damn Carlton, you got ripped for that seat panel :raspberry:... they're only $25 from the dealership (and that's without my fathers discounts lol... I bought 2 of them before my father started working for the dealership)

edit: as for what I did with my GMT... unfortunately, I have to use the beaSSt as my DD right now :hissyfit: (but just for 3 days lol) my DD Grand Prix's rear spring on the strut assembly decided to break on me (see pix below), so the rear end is really sagging right now and damn near blew out my tire... luckily we have napa and world auto parts here and I can buy a complete strut assembly with mounts and new spring attached for anywhere from $57-$123 depending on manufacturer...

annnnnnd... my new motor is here :wootwoot::yes: they wanted me to drop the truck off now, but to hell with that, I have a meet to attend in less then 20 days... and judging from their past on installing my motors, they wouldn't be done in time.. so I told them to wait until I come back...

Yeah, I didn't look at my receipt to see what was what, until I got home. I'm hoping this piece holds up for a while. Since I'm not lifted, I shouldn't be putting much of my weight on it, and since my extended warranty is up, it won't be going into the shop for repairs (as quickly as before)

Found out the hard way, that the door bezels are different from front to back. So I'll have to keep an eye out for a front right one at some point. :ugh:

Today I changed all six spark plugs ac delco 41103 6.99 a pop

I added some gunk engine flush and flushed engine changed oil got rid of retard fram oil filter now have Mobil one

She purrs a little quite now

Also had a warped brakemotive drilled slotted rotor so changed those back to rotors that were on when I bought truck along with the pads

All went smooth until I had a complete blonde idiotic moment

After working on brakes I test drove and heard a lot of scraping so I figured maybe they need to be seated and did some good braking nothing changed.

So my dad said maybe there's air in lines and pads are loose so I bleed the brakes. Same issue.

So I said screw it called a mechanic friend over and hes looking sees nothing reccomends new pads and rotors as these were previously used.

I say well let me take it apart put it back together maybe I missed something..

Yea well caliper comes off. In remove rear pad and start laughing my as off it was installed backwards so the back of pad was being used against rotor hahahahha I couldn't believe it.

Figured I'd share my blonde moment of the day

Today i was on the DVP entering hwy 404 and a grey mercedes c300 cut me off, i was in a pretty crap mood cause i was running late for a mothers day lunch so i floored it and hit 160km/hr within a matter of seconds, he had no idea what happened lol felt pretty good and stress relieving even though he'd probably smoke me off the line
My RPM topped out at 5000 but is still very peppy at those speeds. I think im going to send in my pcm when i have a week off and when i aquire some more funds in my wallet :rotfl:

You can kiss your fuel economy good bye with the tune because the skinny pedal is going to be so much more fun to push on!

It took me getting pulled over by the charger on Easter to slow down through town(10 over), but my fuel economy went from 13-ish city to 15-16ish city. But I still don't let the minivan's by :raspberry:
