I have no preference in regards to location, but if you have everything you need at your place, then it only makes sense for me to come to you...

In terms of the paint, I'm looking at a glossy black - that should be a nice contrast... :wootwoot:

That being said, how much time do you think you'll need?

Sounds good haha time wise probably 2-3 hours plus 30-45 mins drying time if you pitch a hand and we dont get too carried away with show and tell :rotfl: (if we're careful you could mount the rims on with the paint still wet/semi wet and the heat from braking will cure it.) i literally threw my rims on and went for a half hour-45 mine drive and went to the coin wash and power washed/soaped the whole car
Quick question, is your tb raised? Cause it wont fit underground if it is so we'd have to do it in the back on a sunny day. My voy and my dads lincoln clear the garage door by only a couple inches

Nope.. not lifted at all... I currently park underground as well, so I should have no problems getting into your parking garage... and don't worry, I don't mind helping out at all...

I'll need to get a "special" socket in order for my chrome rims to come off - there's very little space where the lugnuts is (if that makes sense)...
I think I need a 19mm thin-wall socket... I'll ask the mechanic that usually installs the rims for me on Wednesday when I'm out there again - I need the tires balanced...

Alright sounds good, i dont know if they make it in 3/8" but i need the 1/2" socket if you want to use the breaker bar and torque bar to torque them propperly after

I also have a broken TBSS crossbar grille (just the pieces that go through the headlights), and it happens to be gloss black, so I will be trimming them up as well, and putting them on the headlights so it looks more finished.

:goodpost: I wanted to do a very similar mod on my TB, just a different route for the badging. Couldn't get my hands on an SS grille, busted or otherwise. This looks really good, seeing it makes me wanna put this mod back on my list.

I know.... The people in my building have got to know me very well over the past couple weeks because im down in the garage 5-6 hours a day doing something to the voy. My list is just growing bigger and bigger and my wallet is shrinking smaller and smaller..... Damn GMTN!!!!!!!
But yea my interior bulbs are like 20% burnt out... Need to get on that too, might change the gauges to white with blue needles or blue on blue
I dont know if you have steering wheel controls or not but im pretty sure if you dont you can wire them up and assign something cool to each button

Well, Mat and I found the leak in Phantom yesterday. It is coming from the door jam's because of how he ran the amp wire through it. Now all we have to do is drill a hole in the fire wall to get a better placement and no more soggy carpet!!

Thanks for the help everyone!!

Also, yesterday we took both trucks and all the kids out fishing with some friends. We learned just how great these trucks are for family outings. We all had an amazing day out at the Farmington lake! The fishing trip is something we would have never been able to do with our past vehicles, so I am very happy
that we could finally go out and do something that the kids thoroughly enjoyed.

I ran my amp wire near where the steering column is, theres a couple places down there you can run it instead of drilling

Yeah, I think we are going to run it to the BCM under the rear seat. Does anyone know how to or where to wire the amp so that I can manually turn the bass up or down? Right now I have it wired to a switch near the steering wheel to just turn the bass on and off, which we will keep, but I would like to be able to increase or decrease the bass so that I can still have a little bumpity even with the kiddos in the truck.

We do have the BOSE system, and we left all BOSE components where they are. Mat thinks we have to wire the amp to the BOSE amp to be able to manually decrease or increase bass.

I bought the same needles you posted (painted the hubs black) There's a film on the back of the gauge face, that will make white LEDs appear a light blue. Here's a pic of mine, with blue LEDs and the blue needles, just to feed your mod bug a little appetizer

In order to reassign those buttons, (if you have them stock) you'd have to trace the wires through the clock spring to their destination and disconnect them. They are momentary ground buttons, so they don't supply any voltage. You'd have to take that into account too in your application, unless you rewired them completely. :twocents:

Theres a thing called a bass controller that you hook up to the rca inputs on the amp. It looks like this, any stereo shop or place that sells stereo equipment should sell it relativley cheap

And i want to keep the factory button settings but was talking to cone about if he doesnt have the factory steering wheel controls he could run custom ones if he buys a new wheel with the controls.
Even just having lights in the buttons at night is a pretty cool visual for the eyes lol
Btw is it hard to take apart the cluster? I've seen diy posts but would like a personal opinion

The kicker amp she has does have a spot for a remote bass controller, just doesn't come from kicker with the amp. Just makes you spend more. Lol

Yeah I'm not sure what the price is. I looked it up before and can't remember. But with the factory one we wouldn't have to worry about another set of rca cables either. But I have to look at the interface that we got to run to the factory head unit they have a couple diff ways to hook it up and I'm gonna try other ways to see if it works better.

lol, you've seen my posts in the LED thread right? Asking me if something is difficult, is probably not an accurate gauge for someone who hasn't done it before. :raspberry:

The cluster is pretty easy to take apart though, it's just clipped together. The needles pull right off. It's more difficult to get the stupid dash piece off first.

way to go Carlton, feed that mod bug. :wootwoot:
IIRC, ( i put in whiteface background) very easy to take apart. no glued seals like headlights, just some tabs that hold it together.
if you go to: Support | US Speedo
they can e-mail you detailed instr. :twocents:

I don't have the skills to do the LED mod's, though I would LOVE to do them at some point. I have been trying to get Carlton to come to Iowa and do them for me, or better yet, since we have 2 GMT's, I could send all my crap to him and have him do it for me. I will get a case of beer and some pizza delivered for the labor  :raspberry:

No, No problems as I don't have the Stabilitrak button. It was pretty easy to install. Just three tapping screws and it was on. Hardest part was trying to find the perfect spot so I wouldn't have any problem pulling my key out of my ignition when the car was off. It it was too low, it wouldn't let me take the key out.

Not a good idea to run off of the rear fuse box. I have an 8ga wire running through the factory pass through. It took a bit of finesse but it can be done. Btw what sub and amp do you have?

I have kicker comp 12" sub and a kicker amp, don't remember the model to the amp. The gauge of wire is also an 8. Can you explain a bit more as to why it isn't a good idea?

Sounds like a nice setup! I have a kicker comp-vr 8 with a Kenwood amp. I'm not the only one to say its not a good idea because the factory wireing is sized for what's there and depend upon your amp, you can be adding 25-50 amps more than what its designed for. With a bit of finesse, you can run the wire through the factory rubber pass through and run all the wires under the carpet and door sills so you won't even see them. I can snap some pics if you want.

Pictures would be awesome!! It may help with how we will run our wires once we get the chance to re-run them.
