After 182K miles....I replaced my stock fan clutch. The wind noise through the front even when it calmed down apparently was quite alot, been going on for so long I really didn't pay much attention to it...very quiet now and definately has improved throttle response.
I didn't change the water pump since I did this right after I returned home from work, if it leaks tomorrow I will say you told me so.
Night and day difference in cabin noise and acceleration, amazing how much power it draws even when it's not fully engaged. I will let the ECM reconfigure itself for a day or so and then fill up and see what, if any, MPG change there is.
1) I would have designed a 2-piece fan shroud so the top half could easily be pulled out of the way.
2) Who the bleep designed the radiator outlet to be right over the top of the shroud. .......
