I bought an aluminium fan shroud (16" x 27") right off my buddies skyline (r33) for only $100 haha he drifts it in cali and owed me still for the racing seat I bought and installed for him when he was home last year. he decided to get an integrated radiator/fan shroud this season so he is also selling me his fans too so I will just keep the ones I bought 2 weeks ago as backups :thumbsup:

Anybody know if these would fit on a tb? I'm assuming an adapter would be needed.

Very nice BO TIE!

Those use the stock tail light circuit board. The reverse bulb plugs straight into the stock reverse socket, and those two wires connect to the proper brake and turn signal sockets on the board.

Checked oil level, oil change at dealer yesterday and I'm only halfway up the crosshatched area, :lipsrsealed:

Checked coolant level, still low in reservoir by inch or so, it was leaking out and was down so dealer did a pressure test yesterday and said it holds pressure fine no leaks. Go figure they never even topped it up, :lipsrsealed:

Checked PS pump fluid level, still full and clean fluid just like it was on the weekend. Go figure yesterday dealer says I'm leaking PS pump fluid not coolant. :lipsrsealed:

Okay so I did something myself, finally changed the fog light bulb, so I back to 6 HI...:thumbsup:

Want something done right you gotta do it yourself,

Very nice BO TIE!
Thanks!

Since these are reproductions, you might be able to get them with the GMT360 bolt pattern. And if you used 255/50R20 tires, they'd fit just like using TBSS wheels.

Changed the oil, front diff, and transfer case fluid a couple days ago. They were definately in need. I was amazed how clear the 75-90 gear oil was after seeing how dark the used stuff was. Also noticed I had more left over in both the 75-90 and the auto-trak II than I was expecting. Anybody that has changed them did you use less than you thought it would? Maybe having it on ramps made it take less fluid? Now just need to get the rear diff done.

Installed the set of euro headlights I bought off of ebay early this week. Ran into a little problem though. There is no plug for the highbeam bulbs, just a positive and negative wire. Should I cut the plugs off of my old lights (there shot...) and wire them to my new lights, or am I supposed to do something else?

I'd cut the old ones and wire em up. Could be wrong though. How do they look?

The lights themselves look great to me! And I can't really complain, as I got them for $60 shipped to my door. The wiring looks straight forward. Theres a black and red wire, but on the stock bulb plug and wires, the colors are different, so I'm not sure which one is positive and which one is negative.

With a regular halogen bulb, it doesn't matter for positive / negative. If you were to use an LES bulb, then it would matter. If you wanted to make sure it was the correct polarity, I could go look up in the Haynes manual later.

Does LES = HID? If so, you wont hurt them if you reverse polarity, they just wont work. I have to plug mine in backwards because of the polarity in my TB

It was a big day for the Rainier:

Steering wheel Angle sensor replaced causing intermitent 'service stabilitrac light';
two tire rods replaced;
allignment;
Steering linkage outer tie rods replaced;
Replace AC Belt;
Open recall 12180 done...this is the door switch recall we've all talked about;
Power Steering rack and bearing replaced;
Oil Change;
Window regulator replaced;
Propeller Shaft Assembly causing the thump like I got rear ended replaced;
R&R rear driveshaft & lube slip joint see above;
Transfer case fluid changed out with new Auto Trac II;
Replaced upper spool valve bearing in steering wheel;

All but the oil change, auto track II replacement and AC belt done under warranty. Glad I negotiated the free GMPP warranty that last over 100,000 miles with no deductible and included loaner car, (the 2013 Yukon). They don't tell you how much the bill would have been without the warranty but the labor rate is $135/hour and so i've got to think it was an espensive repair bill.

Typo, meant LED. HID's also need correct polarity, but if you are installing HID's you would be changing out the bulb (which is attached to the ballast) to begin with and wouldn't be using the wires hanging out of the headlight.

So if I bought HIDs, I wouldn't have to wire anything?

Oh yea you would....you would need to wire the power supply ( to the battery) and ground ( wherever you see fit)

I meant put the plug off of my old headlights onto my new ones. I've been looking for a reason to get HIDs, just don't know anything about them. Wiring a ground and power wire is easy for me.

Cut the wires off your old lights, wire them to the new ones. Polarity won't make a difference

wow... lots of misguided info...

polarity absolutely matters with HID's... and since when has anyone with a TB/Voy had to cut wires to install an HID setup?? unless you guys are just refering to the highs... and not the lows...

not bein a dick... but you all have some reading up to do...

I don't think people are reading the entire conversation carefully. 05tbowner said his Euro headlights didn't come with a plug for the high beams, the housing had a positive and negative wire sticking out and he was asking if he had to splice in the stock wires to those but did not know which was positive and negative for the stock wires.

Then I said that for a regular halogen bulb, the polarity doesn't matter. However if you were to run an LED bulb the polarity would matter, because it wouldn't work in reverse. Somebody else mentioned that HID's had to be the correct polarity, and I said yes it would, but if you were to install HID's you would be changing out the entire bulb so the wires sticking out of the headlight housing wouldn't matter. With HID's the bulb connects directly to the ballast and not to the stock wiring.

So in conclusion, Halogen bulbs will work regardless of polarity. LED and HID bulbs will not work if the polarity is reversed. Hope that helps clear things up.

My hid's use the stock connector, but yes that's the gist. Many cars have the polarity backward for the bulbs (including both tb's I've owned) because it doesn't matter for halogen bulbs. If it is backward, you just turn the socket around. And yes, I was referring to taking the connectors from his stock housing and putting it on the euro housing. (This would be needed for the type of hid's I have)

also...if the euro headlights were meant to have bixenon projector lights those + / - wires for highbeams would most likely be used to trigger the projector solenoid that when activated (positive signal from highbeam activation) actually causes the cutoff plate in the lens to lift up causing the hids not to be sheilded (there for achieving highbeams)

and a lil extra somethin somethin... Although somehow, now the bolts to hold the resonator in place no longer bite, they just spin freely. Guess I need to find some push pins, much easier for removal that way anyway :yes:
