This is on my list for the summer... Mine look like crap

Mine too. Another thing to do before the Midwest Meet.

I would say, check the level of cooperation of the wiper arms coming off, prior to when you actually plan to do it. This has been a multi-month mod in the making, since wiggling, tapping, and PB blaster didn't get the job done. :frown:

the beaSSt was transferred from the dealership she was at, to the original one that did all the motor swaps to her... tranny, flex plate, converter, and pump were all fine... so this service dept. got ahold of GMPP and I had a meeting with them (GMPP), GM, and Dahmer today about what the future plans are... the Dahmer adjuster already came out and assessed the situation and now the argument is a brand new crate motor (50k mile warranty), or yet another reman motor (25k mile warranty)... here's the catch... we all denied another motor from this company... but... turns out GM ONLY deals with this company for motors... so i'm kind of SOL... more phone calls to come tomorrow.. so we'll see how this pans out...

:undecided: Since the previous motors were crap, they should let you keep and sell the old LS2s. At least make a lil side cash for all the headaches they've given you. Then the next time a noob comes and says "How can I make my I6 sound like an SS?" Sell them one, and let them figure out the rest! :satan:

They are a PITA to get them off. I ended up using a mini puller the first time. The second time, someone here suggested hitting the post a couple of times with a hammer...they popped right off.

 I tried the hammer technique, even wedged a board between the cowl and wiper arm, wouldn't budge. I bought a mini puller, ended up bending its crossbar and turning it into a paper weight. :hopeless:

:duh: I actually need to take one off again. I didn't realize that I had turned the transmission slightly at some point removing them, so when I first started the truck, the wipers did a full wipe to reset their position. The driver's side is cocked slightly downwards, instead of level like the passenger side. It cleans enough of the windshield to not be a problem, but it looks weird and keeps catching my attention... Like a lazy eye

This was from yesterday but I removed my front bumper cover due to hitting black ice and sliding into a snow bank.

Good luck finding one of those cowls... EVERYONE is looking for them it seems and since the company that made them doesn't, they've become extinct... :hissyfit:

you're confused with the Lund wiper cowl. the SS cowls have always been available.

I've had mine off before to fix a chattering wiper motor. Took me a couple minutes of wiggling and they both popped right off.

Although I'm thinking I might just replace the passenger arm if I can find a replacement cheap enough. No matter what blade I put on it starts leaving a wide smear shortly after, so I think the arm itself is messed up somehow and not applying proper pressure.

Just looked up the Lund cowl, and I have no idea why they are so sought after. Sorry but that looks ugly to me, it goes up too high, and the angle of it just doesn't mesh well with the hood.

Today I bought a upstream 02 sensor. Only local place for a denso was dealer and they wanted 98.00 plus tax. Insane.

So I got what I thought be OK. A denso

Put it in in the part store park in lot ten minutes wondering why it came out so easy.

Well... Since we had a nice day, I decided to get one of my two Mag-Lites mounted in the truck. Rethinking the mounting placement on the front door, for the second one. These things hold the lights TIGHT. The INT panel likes to pull out and push in a bit as the light is removed or put back. Overall, very happy with the placement on this one.

Funny but, I chose a similar location to mount my Streamlight rechargeable flashlight. It has a constant 12v supply so it's always ready to go.

got my TB back this afternoon, seems to run pretty well

after the new ball joint install, I still hear a noise from the front...suspecting the sway bar bushings, at least its not a clunk noise anymore

It gets warm at idle....not fatally hot, just about 2 ticks to the right. It cools down and is at normal temp after I start driving it. I just replaced the t-stat and water pump about a year ago, wondering if I need a new t-stat and temp sensor now.

But I know what I'm going to be told....I will get an exact temp if it does it again, gauges are only slightly reliable.

Replaced front rotors and pads after a sudden onset of a squeal (pack of wildcats fighting) in the right front, mostly upon turning. The pad and rotor were far less destroyed than expected. (1/2 pad left and very grooved rotors)
Flushed PS fluid as well.

Went to my buddies house to help change his thermostat and temp sensor. Of course no radiator drain on the 03 so I opened the radiator cap to see if I could siphon the coolant out. I was surprised to see green coolant so I asked him...when did you put the green coolant in? He said, I didn't...the "shop" (name withheld) did when they changed my coolant.

I checked the reservoir and it was filled with Dexcool. I said....you need to call them now and tell them we're coming in for a flush. Green stuff has been in there for a month and it's an Xl so there's a lot to clean out.

So far so good, they owned up to it and spent a couple hours on it.

Ok, I just googled both of those, the Lund, and the SS, and I have not been able to find anything on them.. Does anyone have pictures of them installed on the GMT?

Yup I had never even heard about the Lund one until yesterday, and I can't fathom how people think that looks good. Different strokes I guess.

Well, I think that was the style a few years ago, when everyone was going for the faux off road look? That's the only thing I can think of to call it.

For all offroaders, real and wannabes, I deny any relationship between that cowl and hood scoop and the "look" we aspire to.
