Unfortunately they don't. I was looking into them for a while. I was trying to see if any of the frame mounts made for other vehicles, could be modified easily enough to use our running board mounting points, but no luck there :frown:

Do they make those for our platforms? Hey Voymom your truck looks amazing I thought you'd get the roof rails painted as well. The lift would be a nice addition imo.

I'm going to paint the rails myself, thought I would save me a few $$ that way. Plus I'm not sure if they are going to stay or not, depends on if I get my roof lights and basket, or should I say..when not if

Damn I kinda figured that would be the case. I delivered some to a guy on my route and he said the were Great to have. Then I thought they'd have some for our GMT but :frown:

Ordered a couple of nice things for the SIlverado but it looks like the post office decided to lose one. Left Philly sort facility at 8:35 AM on March 1 and I still don't have it.

Now no peaking what I do have is installed. :lipsrsealed:

A few things I have done this week. I built a storage box in the back since I lost my rear floor storage compartment when I put the sub in it. One side effect is that the sub sounds louder now which is not a bad thing because its easier to turn down than to get more sound out of it. Also built a new CB antenna mount without drilling any extra holes. It's a bit flimsy but ill make a new one out of thicker material. It looks a lot better now than how it did when I had the 4 ft whip antenna on the roof! Last thing I did was get the retained accessory power back to the radio after a year. (one nice thing about the LWB is the relay powered RAP in the upper console)Used to be ignition switched to where the key had to be in run position for the radio to work.

I fixed it for you, I don't know of a 'Voy on 35"+ tires yet, you might be able to break new ground  (I'm good at spending other people's money for them )

Yea, that is about 30 days away from being done.

Voymom, you should have had them spray your wheels. I think they would look pretty good blacked out.

Added an aux input for my phone. Wired it in through the XM harness! Works great! No engine noise or static. Can't complain. 3 dollars for the switch 5 dollars for a box of heat shrink! 8 dollars for a aux connection seems good to me :wootwoot:

day 4 of build : New injectors are in! Completely removed old 04 engine wiring harness and swapped in the brand new 2006 complete engine harnesses (jacked it up and smashed my hands instead of removing engine to get above/behind the trans... definitely worth it) I also Installed the oil catch can. (pics in my build thread)

About halfway done shaving the bumper. Here's how it looked when I got it.

JAN222013292.jpg

Only did the left side so far. Decided to shave where the tow hitch plug goes. So I cut a patch out of my original bumper and palstic welded it in.

Sanded that down

Repeat, repeat, repeat. Got it to the point where I'm happy with it, I'll let the body shop do the finishing touches.

Quick and dirty guide coat

And here's the section I cut out

Up next is the exhaust cut out on the right side, then done deals.

Well once again I feel like Gilligan. I set out on a simple cruise, and end up completely screwed!

Today I took the truck out to the Badlands for a little bit of off roading. This was as simple trip meant as a shakedown to put a little stress on my new transmission and make sure all is going to hold. Instead, on a simple rock climb that I have done countless times with no issue, I decided to grenade my G-80. About half way up the rock it started slipping, I felt it hop a couple times and then the locker locked and immediately decided it had come to the end of its life. I got it to dry ground, pulled the rear drive shaft, and pulled the cover on the rear diff. Sure enough, there were a few large chunks of metal, as well as a lot of small pieces. It looks as if a good portion of the teeth in the locker itself sheered. I added fluid back into the diff and managed to limp 30 miles or so into town. Along the way the c clip on the passenger side decided it was done and my passenger side tire and axle decided it wanted to start walking around a bit. This made for a really shitty ride, very difficult to control, and also a lot of scared vehicles on the road around me. Thankfully the brand new pads held up well and the caliper kept the wheel in place enough to get it into the hotel parking lot.

Big thanks to Mike Barton who once again came to my rescue, finding me a ride to him in Indy 90 miles away, and provided me with his truck and flat bed trailer so that I can get my truck home!!!

Cue the Six Million Dollar Man music!

“We can rebuild him. We have the technology. We can make him better than he was. Better...stronger...faster.”

I called my wife this afternoon, dreading the inevitable "now how much is this going to cost" comment. Amazingly, I got just the opposite and exactly what I was going to argue to her. She said, "Why do you keep rebuilding it with the same parts if all they are going to do is break! Why not build it stronger so you don't have as many problems and can enjoy yourself more while your out there?"

After a long discussion about what I would like to do and the costs, I think the decision has been made.

The truck will be getting a hand full of upgrades. I will move up to the bigger and stronger SS rear axle with 4.10 gears front and rear and lockers. Also on that build list will be the already planned longer control arms to push the axle back and fit 35" tires under him. I will be taking the transmission I just replaced in to have it serviced and rebuild and prepare it for replacement with the motor I have currently sitting on the stand in the garage. I am abandoning my quest for 300k about 25k short, but it is time to give this truck some new life and allow me to enjoy this hobby without worrying who may be available to come get me when it breaks.

That all being said, it will take time and money and will be a build that will progress over the summer as I can. My current schedule has me heading to the VA in Battle Creek, MI for a 12 week in patient program following Memorial Day. When I return my wife will be pushing 8 months pregnant and I will be needed around the house to help with our kids and then the new one following the birth. I believe at this point my off road plans are finished for 2013, which will allow me the time to build correctly this time, not just rush to get wheels back on the ground!

Been Experiencing bad braking lately but no lights so assumed my hubs reached a state where needed to be changed. My hunch was right since they'd been grinded so many times earlier.

Changed all 4 nd brake pads while was it too so needless to say braking was improved Alot but still not how it should be. We took another round at it and realized brake fluid wasn't getting to the rear side. I had to go to work so my mechanic friend fixed that up for me and I'm going to pick it up in an hour or so

So what does this mean for you and the Chicago meet? Need a ride?

If Matt has 3 other 360's there shouldn't be an excuse not to attend the meet :raspberry:

Unless of course his prior commitment to the VA is during the same time.

It's raining, I may go wash Phantom with mud....just sayin.

Let me just point out that my truck is not a mall crawler. If it was I wouldn't break. In fact I push my truck and its limits, and that is why I break things. I do have 275k miles on it, the last 100 have been pretty hard miles, and most of the parts that I have broken have been broken before me by many other off roaders.

As Tami has realized, I do have 3 other 360's (2 that have drivetrains) and will have no issues finding another truck to bring. In fact Tracey and I are going to be searching for a new (to us) vehicle for her since we are in need of 6 seats now. The Bravada will be my daily driver very soon.

As far as the VA stay, I do have the opportunity to leave Friday for the weekends. Your not getting rid of me that easy.

Installed two of the three items on the Silverado. Got a set of power, heated and signal tow mirrors. Since the Silverado is primarily for towing Baby-K - the Kodiak camper - in the first pic the mirrors will come in handy. I also really like signals in the mirrors for the safety aspect. I also installed McGard rim locks but forgot to grab a pic of that. Maybe tomorrow.

The third item I ordered was an EZ Down tailgate lowering speed limiter but after the package got stuck in the post office I find out they sent me the older version which does not work well. They had a picture of the newer version on the website. I now get to play with Amazon who rep'ed the company and get them to take it back and refund everything including shipping.

I took a bunch of pictures while putting the mirrors on and will do a How To. Its not that hard. You do need the DL8 RPO code.

The fan and water pump had been making a little noise and after coming home Thursday to a trail of tears coming out of the garage I knew what I had to do.Replaced the fan clutch, water pump, thermostat, coolant temp sensor, idler pulley, belt tensioner, belt, both radiator hoses, flushed the engine and coolant then gave it an oil change. I'm tired now boss...dog tired.

Installed DS wheel bearing, you knew it was coming (did the PS side a couple weeks ago).

Replaced (3rd and final time) front diff pinion seal. The key this time was that I broke down and bought the J33782 pinion seal tool. That tool fits the seal like a glove, made the job so easy. Any one want buy it? Seriously, I don't think I'm going to have a need for it for a long time.

Replaced cabin filters, that thing gets dirty so fast!
