Taking the dog to the vet in the morning for his shots and check up. Then waiting for a phone call from Rim Renew. This feels like the longest two and a half weeks.

Work again. Then something outside. Dunno what yet but I know it's gonna be outside. It is an amazing day today. Maybe lay on the front lawn and count the clouds as they pass by.

Work as usual. Proud of myself as I was able to resolder a surface mount micro USB port on a circuit board :celebrate:

Gonna see how plastidip tint works
I was thinking about buying some of the plasti dip smoke for the tail lights and then use some plasti dip glossifier on top. What are you using the smoke on? Post :pictures:

I bought the SS wheels with dip on them. A few weeks ago I took the dip off when I bought some new tires since I figured the dip would be ruined during the process. After removing the dip, I found some curb rash, pitting, and the clear coat allowed some dirt in between the metal and clear, which as you know looks like some took white to the wheels.

I found a company in Baltimore, MD who specializes in repairing and restoring rims. I dropped them off to have the curb rash and pitting repaired. They also stripped the wheels down, polished them, and reclear coated. Only took a little over two weeks to repair/restore all (4) wheels.

I wonder if that was cheaper than just buying some used ones? Do fill us in lad
I did buy the SS wheels used. The guy I bought them from had them on his 2006 TBSS, so the wheels were about 8 years old and showing their age. They were not in horrible condition, I was just disappointed to find the curb rash. That is my fault for buying plasti dipped wheels, but to be honest I probably would have bought them anyways for the price I got them for.

I bought all (4) wheels, tires (about 4/32 tread left), and TPMS sensors for $650.00. I believe Rim Renew quoted me $200 per wheel to repair the curb damage/pitting, polish the wheels, and clear coat them. So in all I have about $1,450.00 in the wheels. I probably could have picked up some 20" replicas for $1000+ without tires and TPMS sensors (If they even support them). If you add in the new tires I am right around $2,450.00.

At the time, the funds did not support buying brand new SS wheels, TPMS sensors, and tires. Its all good though, I am hoping they look brand new.

Doing the work thing. Then back home to touch up some paint and remove the masking tape.

On a side note, for anyone going to be painting anything. Get this, absolutely worth the 7 bucks. Sticks great and gives some better protection around the walls. Tape it on and pull out the plastic and you get 22" of protection around the floor or what ever your taping off. Saved my ass a few times last night.

Trying to get some work done today. The AC isn't working, so it's a tad bit warm in here. It's sort of funny in a way, people keep walking past my desk, complaining how hot they are. Sit your ass down and do some work instead of walking to the break room every 15 minutes, and other people's desks to complain about it, and you won't feel so hot. :raspberry:

I got really lucky with my wheels, I was originally looking for 20's but I found a used set of 22's on craigslist that had only been used for about 500 miles. He bought them and then totaled the truck 2 weeks later. New with the nitto tires they would have cost over 3k. I talked him down to $1400 and got lugs too. They are flawless, literally like new! It's ok to be jealous

I'm a deal Hunter you might say.

I am the same way. I looked on Craig's List for about 6 months before coming across the set for $650. Could not pass up the deal.

Another day of work, some SAP training after my shift is over. Heading home to put on the SS wheels I just picked up and which look amazing. I will post pics tomorrow. Rim Renew did an great job. I could not tell which wheels had the curb rash or pitting. Depending if the rain holds off hopefully get to lawn mowed.
