Went to a picnic at church, then now back at the house.

Made good on those HF purchases I referenced before, even though the coupon was good up through August 2 I just went up and took advantage of them now. The guy scanned them still on the flier without requiring me to remove any of the coupons, so when I walked out the door I gave the coupon page to the first people I saw getting ready to go in. I hope they got some use out of them, I guarantee the 20% off at least was used.

Today I hit all zerk fittings on the riding mower, cleaned out all the dog $hit and grass buildup from under the mower deck, and attempted to sharpen the blades with my Dremel. Seemed to work, but the hardened steel ate up my "reinforced" metal grinding discs.

Now its back to work for a short work week.

Working, sort of, and nursing a sore back. Guess I spent more time slumped over the driver's side fender over the weekend than I thought. Damn ibuprofen needs to kick in already. Still couldn't track down that electrical gremlin, and quickly running out of ideas. :Banghead:

Window shopping for a new laptop. The 17" one I have now is about 5 years old, and showing some wear and tear that I'm not able to fix. Bottom corner of the screen's bezel broke a mount where a screw holds the front and back together. Resulting in some cracking on the backside, and breaking of some of the clips inside, so every time I open the lid, things flex when they shouldn't. Tried to fix it by gluing a small piece of acrylic to act as a washer for the screw to grab onto and keep things tight. Sort of works, but not well enough. While I had things apart last night, I noticed that one of the metal frame pieces for the monitor snapped off from the bracket that the screw in question goes through. That's where the flexing is coming from. :ugh:

Fun time.

I am spending a much needed day at the VA today. It was a very tough Memorial Day this year.

Started on this 57 bel air (it's a 210 with bel air trim - I think - sorry I dont know the old school lingo lol). This car has some wiring issues. The starter stud backed out which was causing intermittent total loss of electronics. Futher investigation lead to finding the unfused batt feed chillin on the header. I'm cleaning up the garbage, fixing what needs fixin, and doing another dakota digital cluster install. Should be hella fresh when done.

Working outside in this oppressive humidity with a bad case of gluteous aqueous. Don't tell me I can't have cinnamon life anymore.

Came home for lunch (and good thing I did) to find my dog chewing on my travel size advil container. wasn't sure if she ate any, or how many, but she threw up shortly thereafter. long story short, the doc says she'll be ok, have to leave her in the hospital hooked up to an IV overnight to flush her out. thats ok, i didn't need that extra $1g laying around anyway...

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree now does it :undecided:

between this issue, my trip to nyc, and my tbss rebuild, I've spent and obnoxious amount of money this month. I really need to snap out of this shit!

Just finished replacing the Starter on a 2003 EXT LT V8 5.3l.
What a pain! When the repair guide says it will take 3.5 hrs, they were right. I am guessing access to the starter was an after thought with this engine just as the motor mounts and spark plugs are too.
I must say though, 175k on it and I would not hesitate to put the engine to the test. I like me some V8!

Last day of the work week. If it ever stops raining, I will be able to take care of some yard work. Then hopefully painting the wiper arms and cowl this weekend on the TB.
