Sold one of my 3 sleds today, a 85 Yamaha XLV Fan. Almost sold my 81 Snobird trailer, but decided that I wanted to keep it so my ATV, or XUV can use it to haul wood for my cabin. Cleaned up my garage. Pulled my little hot rod out of the garage to give it a bath, and take pics. Then put it up for sale.

1990 Pontiac Grand Prix Turbo TGP

Put it back in the garage, took a shower, and went Christmas shopping. Came home, took a 1 hour nap, and here I sit... BUSY DAY!

Celebrating our gotcha day. 4 yrs ago today our adoptive son legally became ours. We had a nice morning and after his nap we are going to see the movie Frozen then to a local burger joint for dinner.

Can't even stand or sit straight because I blew out my low back this morning loading something heavy in the truck. Slipped while loading, caught it and myself so I didn't fall, but holy crap this pain is some of the worst I have ever had. I've pulled my back before but this takes the cake.

I wish my chiropractor wasn't so far away. I know what's wrong (twisted pelvis, I stand crooked, leaning left). I know he could get it realigned and I could have near instant relief, then be back to normal within a couple days (or at least darn close). There are others around locally, but there are so many bad ones out there that I don't really want to risk it.

Sorry to hear that man, but I know exactly how you feel. I blew out my lower back going through a black belt course.

Laying down was the only thing that felt ok. It was so bad I could not even bend over to put socks and shoes on. Muscle relaxers and a lot of stretching helped tremendously.

Traded in my wife's 08 Malibu LTZ for an 2011 AWD Equinox 2LT. We have had so much snow that she was sick of sliding around and kept bugging me for a RAV4. After a test drive the Chevy won out. I'm going to miss the Malibu, never saw the CEL in 4 years of ownership....Mike.

I second the lying on back and stretching religiously. I couldn't put socks on but with a little help stretching, wow.

I can relate. I jacked up my form during a dead lift last Tuesday. Didn't help that the day before I over did my squats. My lower back on my right hand side has been super sore to the point that I get all messed up if I sit. Standing is all that works.

I tried a chiropractors or the first time his week on my wife's advice. I forbid her to ever go back. What quack nonsense. Magical cold laser that did nothing and all he did for an adjustment was crack my back, whoopsie. Made me feel worse. I could feel my wallet being emptied.

I have been doing some yoga stretches which is helping significantly. It can take up to 3-4 weeks to recover if it's the muscles. If it's a disc or vertebrae well that could heal or it could be a life time deal.

Hope you heal man.

Now what am I doing today? More of this:

MikeKey you made my day when your back went a little bit ago. "Go get 'em" attitude early then that later. Being respectful then, I did laugh out loud.

sorting through 10 years or so of excess phone systems and other potential e-junk...then submit what I can to the federal excess personal property folks

probably have about 11,000 phones sitting over here, mostly analog and some old school modems (14.4)

Yup, it only takes one screw up on your form when performing deadlifts to frack you up. I literally couldn't walk. Back on the bench today. Still going to wait a could weeks before doing dead lifts or squats. Sticking to more basic leg and back exercises like pull ups and lunges, bent over rows.

There are some good chirop. out there. We found one and the guy is great. He uses acupuncture with some tams machine hooked up to the needles. The guy does wonders. You just have to find the good ones. Now back to the real reasons for the thread

We inadvertently put it to the test on the test drive (wife driving) by going down an unplowed side street. Didn't know that it was a dead end street that ended in an unplowed driveway going down hill towards a garage ...I thought, Oh crap....tow truck but, Kathy did a 3pt turn and chugged up that hill like the snow wasn't even there and said "the Malibu would never do this!" we were sold.

Thanks.

Sorry you found a bad one. That's exactly why I'm not wanting to go to a random one around here. Mine is really good, just over an hour away and usually fairly busy too. I did call and hopefully they can work something out. I know this isn't just muscle. Hopefully not a disc, I don't need that! My brother has a bad disc in his low back and makes life miserable for him. I'm really really hoping this is just short term. However, about 8 years ago I fell about 6 feet onto concrete and landed right on my pelvis/tail bone and really knocked stuff out of whack. I couldn't stand up straight for days until I saw the chiropractor who was able to realign everything. I suspect that probably did something that will just haunt me long term.

Last night was really bad. This morning is better than last night so far. Just moving slow and easy today.

By the way, I wouldn't judge chiropractors by a single visit if you've never gone to one before. One day of anything is usually not going to do a lot. 1 day diet? 1 day exercise routine? 1 day taking a medication for something? Same idea. Though if the chiro is rough and hurts a lot that is a good sign to avoid avoid!

I recently got conned into trying a chiro for the first time ever. I went 4 times and have as much or worse pain than before. When he finally at the last visit said if it still hurts "we probably need x-rays", I was done. LIGHTS CAME ON... If I do have something cracked or damaged...he could have paralyzed me. He beat on, jumped, dropped, on my back and made it crack and pop without even knoing if the mateials he was abusing were solid. Fucking Ignorant. He is real lucky I did not punch him in the face. I will go to a real doctor and have x-rays and see what the real problem is not be flopped on by some quack.

I should have known too. My lil sis has three vertabrae fused together and some pins from soccer. She always said dont go to the chiro because she had before surgery and no one can say if they made her shit worse or not with their cracking and crap, but the wife has always gone and had just gotten some adjustments she swore helped with the pregnancy so I tried it. Damn do I feel stupid now and she definitely wont be going back.

If you really think the chiro can help...at least get an x-rays first so you can see if your fall did real damage or if they are accelerating the damage. You definitely know now that the chirpo did not really fix you since you are back in pain. Maybe see a real DR and make sure there are no cracks or tears or pinches before risking permanent injury with a chiro.

Its your spine and I cant believe they are so lax about checking for real problems before attempting to fix people. Along with your medication analogy....You dont take meds for step without a strep test, why let them work on your back without finding the root of the problem with an x-ray.?

This one worked with the other docs when my dad had to get a fusion done from degenerated discs in his neck. He doesn't proceed until he knows what's up.

If a chiro ever jumps or drops on your back I would avoid like the plague. They should NEVER do that.

So your x-rays showed nothing after your fall?
