Worked on my custom under cabinet LED lights tonight. Soldered up the strips, mounted them in the channels, and mounted two of the strips. Not sure the exact routing of the wires for the others yet, and there was stuff in the way, so the others are still sitting on my work table. They are 2835 LEDs in 5000k color, not to be confused with 3528 LEDs.

Compared to the old 5050 6000k LED strip I had stuck to the underside of the cabinet...

These new ones are brighter, a cleaner white and far more uniform, plus the diffuser softens the light a fair bit and helps mitigate the spotty look. The old 5050 strip had some variation in brightness between the 3 chip sections, and then over time that just got a lot worse. When I took them down almost all the chips had dark spots on them, so apparently they were cooking. Hopefully the aluminum channel acts as a heatsink on the new strips to extend their lifespan.

I'll get some action shots when I have them hooked up.

Finished installing now I just have to paint this hand railing. Kitchen is all done and of course there are still other odds and ends to get at. I sure hope I get it all done today.20170318_101931.jpg 20170317_173438.jpg 20170317_125537.jpg 20170317_125507.jpg

Saturday, started tearing down the twin cylinder lawnmower and cleaning heads and pistons. Sunday I polished and ported the heads. :helpme: Yeah, polished and ported lawn mower heads. Yesterday, torn down more of the engine to replace the crank case gasket. Then put it all back together.

Got the new wireless bridge installed. It isn't close to optimized but it works better than what I had already.
Relocated my wifi AP to the ceiling upstairs like it should be instead of stuck to the floor joist below.
Got my security cameras running - yeah, they were just effectively dummy cameras all this time but not anymore!
Rotated the tires on the truck.

Well the lawn mower cranked and ran with no leaks but still smokes. suspect piston number 1. it had oil in t when I tore it down. Also, deck bearing is shot and the drive belt died.

Today I will replace the belts and bearing, mow the grass the tare apart the engine and put new rings and rod bearings in.

Cleaned this extra valve cover I got, its so clean you could eat off it. Don't know what color I want to paint it. It's gonna go in the rig. Should I make it blue to match other stuff I have under the hood or do a nice gloss black? Either way it's gonna be high temp paint.IMG_20170322_061525.jpg

Sounds like a good way to get fired long-term

I'm at work, got stuff to do, and have to deal with some rather tech unsavvy and/or just plain grumpy people.

Going to work on that old 86 F150 whenever they get here with it.

Was going to go to Columbus later with the GF, but, she may be sick, so, that may not happen. Boom goes the weekend.

Well, got that old Ford rewired. I didn't totally redo the underhood wiring - way too much involved to do that - but, the 3G alternator is in there, charging at a nice 14.5 volts, and his tail lights and all that work correctly now too (that wiring was so hacked up...)

Looks like I'll still be spending time with the GF this weekend which is good. Slight change of plans due to this project taking longer so I can't get down there as early, but that's OK.
