Cleaned the house this morning, and mopped the floors. Turned my attention to my kitchen faucet, as it's been dripping worse and worse lately. Got things dismantled, determined the cold water inlet seat in the handle was the culprit. Before dropping $14 on a repair kit, I pulled the seat, cleaned off some gunk that had built up, and put it back. No more dripping!!! :celebrate:

Now having myself a nice cold beverage (with some vodka in it of course), watching TV and being happy it's a short work week.

I'm at work, cleaning up my classroom in anticipation of next year's batch of little darlings.

Just got rid of the house full of relatives I had visiting over the weekend. Chilling on the couch debating on whether or not to install my interior led bulbs in the Trailblazer or just relax

back to work

<sigh> work

Headed in to work. 1 more day and I'm on vaca for 9 days. Going to spend most of the time tackling house stuff, my retrofit and some fishing.

Working it

St Lois cut ribs are on the smoker, scalloped potatoes will be started soon and a Dr Smurto's Golden Ale is in hand.

Watching TV, messing with some video editting software, and relaxing with a few drinks around the house before wings and UFC tonight.

1st day of vacation was spent working on the wife's F150. Was going to take it in for state inspection, but the CEL was on that she forgot to tell me about :duh: Cheap $20 fix, the IAT sensor crapped out and was constantly reading -40* I know something was up when I connected TorquePro and the voice said, "Caution, icy conditions"

Then took it in for an alignment check and tire rotation before my 1 year was up and on the way home, the damn CEL came back on for a different issue. The differential pressure feedback EGR sensor stopped communicating with the PCM :blinkhuh: $70 for a new sensor which resolved the issue.

While on a test drive I noticed the digital odometer was blank. Asked the wife about it and she said it comes and goes for months now :eyebrowhuh: Well since needing an odometer reading at inspection, it had to be fixed. Did some Google research and apparently this is a common problem on 1997-2003 F150 instrument clusters. One of the solder joints on the circuit board for the ribbon cable are known to break/crack which causes the digital odometer to go blank/intermittently work. It took longer to take half of the dash apart to remove the cluster than it did to make the repair :weird:

Also gave the wife's truck an overdue exterior detail since I had it for the day.

Hopefully the inspection goes well tomorrow and they do not find anything major, thats if I dont get another CEL on my way there :explode:

@dmanns67 what's the hold up with that fog light retro on the table there?

Time and weather recently. Plus I am on the Carlton plan  I had planned on trying to finish them up this week since I am on vacation, but with the wife's truck has been occupying all my time so far. I just need to install them to see if the shim I put in is enough to the raise the cutoff to where I need it. If its good, then I can seal them up.

Nice lazy day since I only had to work a half day due to weather related power outtage at work. Went grocery shopping during a break in the rain, came home and watched some people try to slim jim their way into their rickety mini van after locking the keys in earlier in the day. After about 45 minutes, they finally got the door open, but they damaged the linkages in the door, because the outside handle didn't work. I couldn't get good video, due to the rain, and low light.

 so in other words, expect them when football season rolls back around? Gotcha!

Working for da man

Waiting on the F150 to be inspected. Made it to the shop without a CEL :bonk:

Running a couple errands afterwards.

Guess i am going to look at a VW Beetle of the 2001 variety. Maybe a dirt cheap car to flip or replace the DD since it is starting to not be so reliable

Getting reamed at work and possibly a 3 day suspension..."anger issues". Who me?

Took a sick day. Strained trap/neck/shoulder. I can barely move my head around. Not really the thing to have when you're in a cruiser the whole shift.

Working then going to Menards to exchange my air compressor that broke. Realized they have a 90 day return/exchange policy so that will be a heck of a lot easier than dealing with the company directly. Doing the same with my Channellock long nose pliers that the tip broke off the first time I twisted an electrical box knockout with them. Frustrating since my cheapo Chinese pliers never bent or broke over the last few years, and these are supposed to be much better. Hopefully just a fluke.

Return it for a klein. I have 2 different sizes for yrs and they've never let me down.

You throw some LEDs in the cluster since you had it apart? :poke:

:goodpost: :iagree:

No work for me today. Typical Tuesday. Just put my son down for a nap so going to head outside and mow the lawn, clean up the TB a little, figure out something to make for dinner tonight, and enjoy this cool weather while it lasts.

I thought about it since the cluster uses what looked like 194 based bulbs, but it needed (10) LEDs which I did not have. Everything else on the F150 has been converted to LED though.

Just got home from the inspection and failed for the window tint being 3% under the legal 35% :eyebrowhuh: Have to remove the brush guard inserts covering the headlights and also those damn Amazon LEDs burnt out in the license plate lights. They were working yesterday when I checked them

Picked up some Sylvania 194 LEDs from Advance Auto, hopefully they last longer than the Amazon ones.

Tint removal appointment in the morning then reinspection after that. Should be good.

Working and being glad we do not have inspections

Luckily, in the state of Maryland, their inspection is a one time deal when registering your vehicle. Then you can let your vehicle fall apart for all they care.

Currently at the tint shop getting the tint removed then back to the tire shop for a follow-up inspection.

Talking to someone about a new job and getting out of this government shithole.

Rode the motorcycle in to work. Was 68deg this morn.Supposed to be almost 90deg today. Repeat rest of the week so the TB will be sitting in the driveway awaiting the coming headlight install.

Not me. Dmanns had to pull his for inspection
