Cleaning out... just got done going through the 2005 and 2006 Motor Trends.
The 2006 Truck of the Year is... The Isuzu i350. "JUST LIKE CHEVY'S COLORADO WITH A BETTER WARRANTY'
Also read an article about the SS... Impala and Trailblazer SS, new for 2006.
Also found an article about Chevy's "Corvette Truck" the SSR.
And all the "buyer's guide" found them about the 9-7x, TB SS, and Rainier.

Did some hyper-miling on the way home from UFC tonight. Much easier to do when there's almost no traffic to make you have to adjust your speed so frequently.

Yeah, it was mostly suburban surface streets, about 15 miles, with a few miles on a highway. That same drive before my tune, the best I could get was just above 16.

Sucks.

My best friend owns a Chevy dealer and he says a trade-in is never in favor of the customer. He said if you want the best deal, sell the vehicle yourself. The only reason to trade in is if you are so far upside down in financing you cant sell it, but then why would you be buying a car when you cant afford what you have.

They only wanted to give us $9500 for an 08 with 74k miles. They wanted $18900 for the acadia which has 81k miles. Naa i'll pass. When I traded in my 06 envoy last year they gave me $13k for it. So something doesnt seem right. Either gm holds there value better than ford or they see dollar signs $$$$$ written all over us. My wife just wants something different and with more room. Gotta make the wife happy.....happy wife happy life.

Thats the truth. The wife wants a 2013 Jeep Rubicon 10th anniversary edition, but wants to keep her 2003 F-150 as well. It it pushing 220,000 miles so I doubt we would get more than $1500-$2000 to trade it in. Jeep is nice other than the price tag of $42,000

Just got back from the cottage, got 7.6kms/L (18 mpg)with the new cat (trip average according to my DIC since i got the cat)
Going approx 120-140km/hr for 312kms
I'll take a pic of my DIC when i go downstairs to wash the sand off her later
Before the cat i was getting an average of 6.0km/L
Also getting 685kms per tank (filled up about 45 mins before i got home)

Edit:did the math wrong and converted L/100kms (fixed it)

took my tbss in for an alignment...

"$200 for an alignment every six months for 3 years"
Well the problem is I mod my truck alot so...
"Doesn't matter, free alignment every 6 months"
What if I change my tie rods?
"Doesn't matter, free alignment every 6 months"
What if I put different wheels/tires on it?
"Doesn't matter, free alignment every 6 months"
What if I change my suspension height?
"Doesn't matter, free alignment every 6 months"
Can I get that in writing?

It cheaper to get a Firestone Lifetime alignment and does not end in 3 years.... They even align mine...

no firestones near my house (the last one turned into a tires plus which I've had bad experiences at)

This goodyear place is expensive ($30/tire for mount & balance ) but its a 10 minute walk from my house so its convenient.

Going through past issues of Motor Trends...
Keeping the Car/Truck of the Year issues and any that have articles about Fisker and Tesla.
The articles about the 9-4x are always interesting too, as well as GM vehicles that are sold in Canada and Mexico but not here.
Throwing out the rest.

Donate them to a hospital, no need to throw them out.

Head straight to the maternity ward or ICU and drop a few at every table on the floor? That way you know someone will pick it up.

With a list, I can really keep track of what I did today.
Today, I photographed items I will sell on eBay, plugged in my mom's treadmill, and desoldered SMD components from circuit boards using reverse reflow soldering.
I also built a 1 meter long LED strip light; it's enclosed in an aluminum housing and is suspended by two steel wires which happen to carry the power also.
